We booked a “King Room” through another website, which turned out to be a horrendously overpriced motel room that seemed actively designed to prevent sleep.
The location is great and the room was clean with a nice bathroom. However:
- The windows are covered by metal slat binds that do not block any light whatsoever. There’s also a bright light right outside the door that you can’t switch off. So, all night, inside the room is so bright that you can read without turning any lights inside the room on.
- The walls were paper thin, you can hear every word of conversation (or whatever else might be transpiring) in the adjoining room.
- There’s a fridge that runs very loud, on and off, all night (we had to unplug it).
- The giant, very noisy air conditioner blasts air directly at whoever is on the side of the bed near it. (We just had to switch it off.)
- Right outside the room is the service exit of the restaurant, with all the trash and food waste outside, and there’s a big dark stain running along the ground towards the motel rooms, which I could only assume was dried trash juice. There’s also a very noisy extractor fan.
We can’t speak to the main house, but avoid the motel section at all costs, especially at the ludicrous price.
