The Shore Line Trolley Museum is an incredible experience for families! We visited on a Friday and were warmly welcomed by the staff and conductors. Our conductor, Bill Dresslar, was knowledgeable and made the ride extra enjoyable. The trolley ride itself was beautiful, and afterward we explored the museum, where we learned so much about the history of different trolleys. Our son, who is autistic, was especially excited—he loved the entire experience and even got to take a photo with the conductor, which made his day. This museum is both educational and fun, and we couldn’t recommend it more. A solid 10 out of 10!

I’ve lived in the area all my life and somehow never managed to ride the trolley or see the museum! My wife and I brought our granddaughter for her first trolley ride and ours! It was such a delight we did it twice and the engineers were an absolute delight to listen to as they told us stories about the history of all the trolleys on the property and how it’s evolved over the years. I highly recommend you take the time to go slowly through the museum while you’re there!

I had a great time there. Got to ride the trolley right when I got there so good timing. Great people working there with knowledge and stories behind the trolleys. Check out the fire museum behind the main building. I will definitely go back again.

The Shoreline Trolley Museum’s NYC Day of Trains was absolutely spectacular! As a New Yorker and transit lover, getting up close and personal with historic subway cars and trolleys from the city’s past was a dream come true. The staff and volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and welcoming — they made the whole experience feel like a true celebration of transit history. The highlight for me was stepping aboard an original IRT car and hearing stories about its service in NYC decades ago. Every detail was preserved beautifully, and the trolley rides through the scenic Branford landscape were both peaceful and nostalgic. It’s a perfect day trip for families, train enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to experience a moving piece of New York’s legacy. I can’t wait to go back for their next special event — this place is a hidden gem! 🚋🗽

Absolutely wonderful experience I didn't even know about this hidden gem in my own backyard. I loved how the trolley stopped and they let us get off and explore the trolley yard and the other trolleys that they have. The staff was so friendly and told us all the history also please check the inside of the museum station. I fully one hundred percent recommend this to everyone.

Great experience and such a wealth of history at this interactive museum on "wheels". Exciting to ride the Streetcar named Desire from New Orleans and learn how Mark Twain rode the trolley from Hartford to the Shore Line. Most amazing of all was to stand in the subway car that was buried under the World Trade Center on 9/11-very emotional. Highly recommend a visit, check out the special events they post and take a ride!
