The Sign Lounge – Vienna’s Cocktail Powerhouse If you’re serious about cocktails, The Sign Lounge is an absolute must when in Vienna. Tucked away in the 9th district, this place doesn’t just mix drinks—it creates experiences. The menu is a wild ride of creativity, with playful names and bold flavor combos you won’t find anywhere else. Think smoky infusions, edible garnishes, and even a touch of theatrical flair. Whether you’re into classics or up for something experimental, the bartenders are pros and love a challenge. The vibe is relaxed yet refined—dark, moody lighting, great music, and an effortlessly cool crowd. It’s the kind of bar where one drink turns into three without you noticing (until you stand up).

Beautiful bar with friendly servers, but a bit pricey. We ordered two cocktails and the total was €44. I ordered a margarita, and an avocado cream concoction came out with tons of pizza chili flakes on top. I love spice but the drink tasted mostly of chili flakes. Maybe we didn’t order the right things.

One of the best cocktail bars in Vienna. Drinks that make your taste buds dance with joy! A cocktail menu that sparks curiosity and satisfies every craving! This bar boasts an exceptional selection of creative drinks, including my personal favorites: Hypnose and Dark & Stormy. During the week they will assist make you a Golden Cadillac on request. Each cocktail is a work of art, crafted with precision, imagination, and dedication. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, complemented by a lively mix of guests. The service team is outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to guide you to the perfect drink. Whether you’re a seasoned cocktail enthusiast or just exploring: A must-visit for anyone in Vienna!

I visited The Sign cocktail bar and had a decent time. The drinks were fine, and we really enjoyed the Kentucky cream and custom cocktails. The location is good, but service was a bit slow even though it wasn't busy. The cocktail with painting was fun, but I didn’t like the taste.

Super friendly service. Where able to get a seat at the bar although they had been fully booked. Cocktails were delicious. Be aware that card payments are only possible at an minimum of 30€.

A good cocktail lounge, though their most interesting cocktails are premixed so it's not among the best. Had 7 across the tone I've spent there. Recommend a reservation.

I came here for the first time two years ago and the cocktails were the best in Vienna. Then it went downhill and both the quality of the drinks as well as the service were so bad that I vowed to never return. But... The bar we wanted to go tonight was too far away so we gave The Sign another chance. Got the basil omakase and it's excellent. It looks like they switched ownership or management again. The menus are completely different and the cocktails taste good once again.

The cocktail was amazing, with great flavors, and the vibe was just right—relaxed yet lively. The service was excellent, and the bartender was friendly and skilled adding to the overall great experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
By far the best bar we found in Vienna! I highly recommend making your way here if you find yourself in Vienna. They have fantastic bartenders and while the bar has a tremendous selection of unique spirits, they will also make you whatever you want. These bartenders are true professionals and are here to serve. We visited every night after discovering this special place. Olce is a great bartender so see if he is working!

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations. The sign is sophisticated cocktail bar with a crazy menu and crazy drinks to match. I visited twice. The first time, my friend received his drink in a unicorn mug. The second time, mine came in a baby bottle! The drinks are fun, but they are also very well made and delicious. The atmosphere was dim and relaxed, and the staff were attentive. I didn't expect to find such a unique place.

Yelp
Very classy establishment with great drinks. Had the coconut cream Mojito and it was perfect. Although I was jealous of my wife who is pregnant. They made her the non alcoholic version and it was probably better than my drink. I would definitely recommend this location.

Yelp
Top cocktail bar! Creative drinks on an expansive drink menu for reasonable prices! One drink for an average of €10. Decent size and fair amount of alcohol. The atmosphere is laid back without turning it into one of those 'alternative' places where you are looked down on if you don't wear fair trade clothing. The staff was really attentive, knowledgeable and nice! The deconstructed cocktail was really cool. Huge PLUS: the entire bar is non-smoking!!!! It was packed, which is proof that you don't need to offer a smoking area if your product and service are good! Keep it up The Sign! This is what Vienna needs more of!

Yelp
Very original (and very pretty) menu of cocktails, so much choice! They can also make one out of the blue if you just tell them what are your tastes. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
This ultra-popular and award-winning cocktail bar is tucked away on the Liechtensteinstraße in Vienna's Liechtental hood. You def have to look for 'The Sign!' But once you are here, the drinks flow easily and the buzz is mighty. Don't even think to come with a large party without a reservation. I was here recently for a birthday party and the birthday honorée had arranged for a Gin Malbrett which lets you create your own flavored gin fizz with a paint brush and using the colorful flavor palette. Cool!! Then you can move on to other attractive cocktails including a fun Mannekin Pis which I think you know how that works. Food is not the main focus here but bar snacks like pomme frites or jiaozhi are available. The noise level is loud, the lighting dark (bring your phone to give some light to be able to read the huge menu book), the service very good. Then all you have to do is say cheers and chill to the middle of the night!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to visit this cocktail gem on a Monday night when business is slower than weekend crowds. I say "lucky" because we got to enjoy conversation with the bartender and to slowly peruse the menu of over 100 cocktail creations, some old/some new. We really enjoyed our visit. All of our drinks were tasty, complex, and made with skill. David and Gab were both very friendly and personable. David is a skilled mixologist for sure. Highly recommend you visit this quirky bar, even if the location might seem a bit of a trek from the normal tourist spots.

Yelp
One of my favorite cocktail bars. The interior and the cocktails are so unique it blew my mind. An award-winning cocktail bar I would say. A great place to chill, sometimes a bit loud and crowded but we had a reservation every time so it was fine. A huge list of cocktails made by a highly experienced mixer. Been there a few times, absolutely recommended place

Yelp
Great atmosphere, only down side is you have to have a seat to be served, makes sense , due to the fancy drinks, you cant really hold some of them. Definitely will go back.

Yelp
Before I jump on the hype train, a few words of caution. I am not sure about the hygiene in this place. There was a huge smudge on the last page of my menu and the sink in the men's room looked like it either wasn't cleaned in a while or not regularly and the surface has become permanently dull. Also, I wasn't fond of the regular kitchen towels instead of commercial hand towels - but maybe it was just a temporary solution on that night. So why still 5/5? Because I have never seen service this courteous (plus, one can see a lot of what's going on behind the bar and there, the hygiene seemed fine) and cocktails this great. The latter is obviously mentioned everywhere but what I didn't read about beforehand was the fact that even BEFORE you order anything, you usually get a glass of water and a bowl of salted snacks. Though it may of course vary when exactly those things arrive at the table. When one of the ladies (maybe the owner's wife?) saw that I had emptied half of said glass of water, she automatically put a whole jug full next to it. It seems like they are the first in Vienna who are interested in people visiting more often to buy their core products. At least I thought to myself that if the other cocktails are just as great and the courtesy remains, I might visit this place about once a month. (And usually, I go somewhere to get a cocktail maybe twice a year) Also, I was surprised by the elegant presentation of the menu in a leather binder. And that most cocktails have little stories and there must be 50-100 of them... It really seems like they are putting a lot of thought into the drinks and enjoy coming up with those creations.

Yelp
A modern interpretation of speak easy bar with a little Asian fusion (I think more on the Japanese style) both in drinks and decor. Unique in any case, in a good way. Like: 1. The alcohol seems to be higher shelf (quality) and the drink options are original. One of those places that has pages and pages of options, including for alcohol free if needed (assuming you are hung over from drinking the night before), but all the drinks are original or have an original twist. Also, this place really distinguishes itself by decorating their cocktails creatively, such as a flower on the side with banana flavoured chocolate crunchies or the mechanical fish in the bowl. The drinks do taste as good as they sound on the menu, and not overly strong that you get knocked out immediately. 2. Staff is not afraid when you tell them "Surprise me! No sour no soda though please". However, you may or may not love what they bring you (although it will always look great because they are really good at decor which turns into half the fun) 3. When you make a reservation, they actually have no problem if you specify which table you want, and when you arrive you actually get the one you asked for. 4. Free crackers, and happy to give you more if requested, no charge. Automatically bring you a jug of tap water too. 5. There is a place they seem to have lindy hop dancing class, but based on how the entire place is separated into almost three sections, you are not bothered by having to see them unless you want to, or getting bumped by dancers. 6. Bathroom is clean, there was soap, and feminine products for free, which can be a life saving, so awesome. Also there is a great send mirror behind you which provides the best full view I have ever experienced. Finally got to see how cool my haircut is from all angles. 7. SMOKE FREE!!!! So so: 8. I felt the drinks tasted great, however I did not feel my drinks were strong. At 10 to 15 Euros each, that as disappointing. However, my friends felt their drinks were really strong, and in the morning I thought, well.... maybe stronger than I thought... not painful though, so may be good indication of higher shelf products. 9. If you sit in in the back the music may be a bit too loud, and the couch/seats areas so far away from each other around the table that may be hard to have conversation and chat in groups. Front section has less seat options, but better for groups wanting to talk perhaps. 10. Everyone thought the little dog as cute, and was quiet and not running around, but for me, animals don't belong in a cocktail bar. Overall: Ching ching ching, but good once in a while when looking for creative innovative cocktails with a fun twist. Definitely a good conversational starter, its a place to go for the experience.

Yelp
What a cool place for a meetup or a party!!!!! The ambience (even though lighting is too dark to read the incredibly extensive menu) is chill, fun and friendly. The drinks are masterpieces, even the non-alcoholic ones. Expensive? Of course, but in my opinion it is worth it. Make a reservation and enjoy!!

Yelp
I'm more than grateful to Yelp that I have discovered this non-smoking pearl in Vienna. I've got to experience only a part of amazing Erlebnis-Getränke that they have to offer, but it was the preview that simply calls for more. It has recently won the title of best bar in Austria, and I have no problem to believe that. Those are not normal cocktails, but imaginative creations that look and taste incredible. They play with some kitch here and it all still ends up amazing. I told them that I would write a poem about that dreamy Manneken Pis if only I may have another serving: Is it a dessert? Is it a drink? Let's keep it a Haiku. But it might have been the tastiest cocktail I have ever had. Probably because it includes chocolate - perfectly balanced to give you an idea of chocolate but not make it dominant in any way. And have I already mentioned, a non-smoking bar! Basically I can hardly wait for the opportunity to go again. Then I will have as much Manneken Pis as it takes to have enough if it. Only after that, I'll taste everything else and check out the other amusing serving possibilities. And I will keep you posted.

Yelp
The drinks are good, that part is OK. But if you get there an hour before closing when the place is starting to clear out, and it take 18 minutes until someone even acknowledges that you sat down at the bar, and then another 12 minutes until you finally get a simple to make drink, then that's totally lame. I have full understanding that craft drinks take longer and that a bar can get backed up; I have no understanding that it takes almost 20 minutes until someone says hello and asks if you want a menu or order something. Even if the place were peak busy, a simple "hello, I'll be with you as soon as possible" and then dropping off a drink menu within a few minutes of arrival isn't too much to ask for. Anything else is just showing disrespect.

Yelp
Relaxed atmosphere (there are some really comfortable sofas), friendly service. The best thing about The Sign though is its cocktail selection - I've never seen such inspired cocktails in my life. There's everything from a "Manneken Pis" to a "Suck My Titty Mojito"!

Yelp
ive been here today on a monday night, the drinks were good and the atmosphere nice too. the stuff is really nice too and they even had an english menu (which doesnt only look like a book but also has a loooot of pages), so a lot of drinks you can choose from). i really liked the place, the only thing that could have been better was the music.. its was more like a lounge kind of place. the location is alright, could be better
