A must go-to for everyone visiting Sarajevo!
This cozy little restaurant has a very pleasant family-friendly vibe and serves the most tasty food from the traditional Bosnian cuisine.
The ambient lights, the charming decoration and the gentle music background create a very welcoming ambience in the evening.
As someone on a plant-based diet, I had plenty to choose from (which didn't happen that often during my stay in Sarajevo). Every item on the menu even has a clear sign stating whether it's vegetarian, vegan, with dairy or with meat, which was really helpful while choosing what to have. I decided myself for one appetizer and a main course, and enjoyed enjoyed two plentiful portions. The nettle pesto, the signature of the restaurant, went perfectly well with the warm and fluffy "uštipci", and the hummus had a hearty taste, well-balanced between acidity and richness.
The red cabbage stew with buckwheat pearls and cranberries was tender and full-bodied in flavour - only a bit too oily for my taste. It tasted like a meal out of my grandma's kitchen.
I haven't tried any of the dishes with meat or milk products, but a couple sitting on a table next to mine seemed to be really satisfied and enjoying their food.
The staff was kind and professional at all the times.
The Singing Nettle is a great example of a traditional kitchen that accommodates to various food sensitivities, in an ambient which feels homey and inviting.
I will definitely be coming back the next time I visit Sarajevo!
