The Slaak Rotterdam, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

We stayed here 1 night while visiting Rotterdam. We took the family room, as we were a group of 4. The hotel is located 13 minute walk from the main train station; also close to the places we had wanted to visit. The reception ladies were very nice and welcoming. We were also able to store out luggage and go walk around until our room was ready. Customer service was superb. The room was very clean and uniquely decorated. The toilet was a separate room then the shower and sink and that was a bit annoying. There was also no hand soap. The beds are on the smaller size, specially for 2 adults. Another issue is the rooms have a step to get into them. We had a stroller and had to pick up the stroller, I’m not sure if they have something better for people with wheelchairs. Overall though we did enjoy our stay.

Beautiful hotel with unique design! Friendly staff! Warmly greeted at check in and given an upgrade to the Executive suite. The staff recognized my Marriott status and that a birthday was being celebrated. Given a bottle of wine with a personalized birthday card! The room was extremely nice and more than expected. Very spacious and unique layout. Beautiful view from the huge balcony that wrapped around the entire suite. Good location to the metro within a 2 minute walk, can get to main areas of the city within 10 minutes.

Visited in 2023. It was great. Came back in 2024 and can confirm that this is not what I expected: it’s been named Fletcher. At check in, the room was dirty. Balcony had at least 15 cigarette buds scattered and the table outside had food and drink all over it. I was travelling with a kid and when I mentioned this situation with cigarettes there was no acknowledgment whatsoever. There is renovation going on. We had to order our food in, when it was delivered they didn’t bother to inform us. I can go on and on. Simply incompetent. Not worth the money spent here. Marriott/Hilton are way better

Over all Im happy. The room was great and the staff was nice. If I may criticise anything, then it was the serving of the breakfast at 7:00. I was staying there as a business trip and needed to eat at 7. The breakfast was not ready at 7 at any day at my stay. Otherwise, great hotel!

The cleanliness and design of the room was a lot better than expected. The loft is just so chic! This is such a beautifully-designed hotel within walking distance from the train station. If you are interested in design, and a lot of history, The Slaak is a place for your adventures in Rotterdam! The staff were lovely and very helpful. The lobby, the hallways and the restaurant — everything was just beautiful and well-maintained. Minimal and standard breakfast selection but still, a very pleasant weekend experience!

Fantastic boutique hotel. The room is superb, equipped with an extra comfortable mattress, nespresso machine, large screen tv and cozy sofa & table. Unfortunately the shower does not have a door, which makes taking a tidy shower a challenge. The breakfast is great. Organic and fairly traded products are used. It is very well assorted, finding options such as scrambled eggs, bacon, cheeses and also sweeter options. The service is impeccable and the facilities tidy and designed with a lot of thought. Not far from the city center. In short, a fantastic hotel!

Stayed in the director suite with two friends for 1 night. Would definitely recommend it. Very spacious two room apartment with a big table and a (sleeping) couch. It looks beautiful and even though it’s only two months old it has character. The bed is amazing! Exactly what I’m used from good hotels. The sleeping couch was a bit less good, but worked. We enjoyed breakfast a lot. Very tasty. Most of all we appreciated the staff. All of them were super friendly and went out of there way to make our stay comfortable. Thanks a lot!!!

It’s a really funky but very nicely appointed hotel. The rooms are spacious and at least mine has a separate shower area from the toilet making it very easy for a couple to share space. The Metro and Tram is half a block from the entrance and there are a lot of small restaurants in the neighborhood. I did walk from the train station on my way from Amsterdam and it was a nice enjoyable 20 minute walk. Highly recommend.
