It's worth the ride from South Shore. Expect a bit of a wait as very small inside. Small plates that are bursting with flavor and meant to share ! Staff are attentive and amazing !!! I completely forgot to take a picture of the polenta fries... think French toast sticks but crunchy outside and creamy polenta inside 🤌🤌🤌

This establishment is so inviting! From the staff down to the food, it is excellent. I cannot reiterate enough how warm and friendly everyone is here. I have only tried three dishes so far, but the food is so unique and delicious. My favorite is the jalapeño cheddar polenta frites! They come out molten lava hot and are so addictive. My husband and I usually sit at the bar and we got to talk to Tori, the bartender, who made me the most perfect lavender haze. We have also gotten to know Tevin who provides the best experience and Julio who is part of the team cranking out the best dishes. We have moved here almost a month ago now and we have been blessed to have such a wonderful place so close to our new home.

Google
This was the coolest spot I've visited while in the Providence area. The drinks were fantastic, and the food was phenomenal! The service was absolutely incredible. I enjoyed talking with Tori up at the bar as much as I did the food and drinks! She made me a speciality mocktail as well. Their whiskey selection was very good. I highly recommend you stop by.

Google
The place was so vibey and super cute. The food was all really good and well priced! We got the schwarma sweet potatoes, the duck drummettes, and the pork belly. I think the sweet potatoes were the best for sure but everything was great. Recommend! 🤞🏻

Google
Overall, I think it was okay. The downsides are what you would expect - it is very small, so it gets loud and tables are very close together. There food selection is okay, fairly limited but tasty. Prices are reasonable though. Service was good, staff was friendly and attentive, but it did feel like they were rushing us out once we finished eating (I guess since the place is small they have to turn over the tables quickly).

My son wanted to eat here after his graduation and it was an amazing choice. My fiancé and parents loved it too. The food did not disappoint, service was fast, courteous, and kind. Also a big thank you to our server Pam who brought us an extra serving of Duck Drummettes on the house! It really made our day even more and had me decide we will definitely be back. Love this place, don’t skip this gem of a restaurant. 🍔🍟🍗

Google
Apps - Polenta fries were the best I’ve ever had. Nice crispy exterior and beautifully creamy inside. Well seasoned and you get the taste of jalepeño without the spiciness. As someone who makes their own plenty of fries at home, I highly recommend these! We also shared the ribs which were fall off the bone amazing! Sauce had a little kick and I appreciated the garnish with peanuts to provide some crunch! Overall, I think the apps were better than the entree and there were a lot more “small plates” to choose from. Entree - my partner and I split the fried chicken sandwich and burger. Both of which were great sandwiches, meaty and well seasoned. Fries come on the side and had a nice seasoning on them. Service - appetizers came out quick, no issues there. However, for the entrées, I was served my sandwich five minutes before my partner and was nearly done before he got his food. That’s really the only fault we can find! Key Takeaways: ⭐️ bring friends to go tapas style with all the amazing small plates / appetizers ⭐️ingredients are high quality

This cozy and intimate late-night spot is tucked away in an unassuming part of the West End, but is an ideal spot to unwind with some delicious food and easy conversation with the excellent staff and locals. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the beer selection is varied and top-notch. The arugula salad was a refreshing appetizer that paired nicely with the pork belly and rice which was deliciously tender and not too rubbery as pork belly can sometimes be. This would be a great place for a relaxed yet romantic date or just for a casual evening hang alone or with friends.

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot in Providence that serves food you'll dream about later, The Slow Rhode is where it's at, with a laid-back vibe that delivers seriously incredible dishes. The menu is a mix of Southern comfort food with a little modern flair. The duck drumettes? Unreal. Even if you're not into meat, their vegetarian options are phenomenal. It's the only restaurant I will go to and eat vegetarian. That's that's how good it is. The Slow Rhode is the kind of place you'll keep coming back to because the menu is always evolving, so something you like the first time around will not be there the next time you go. We follow them on Instagram to see what new dishes are released every week. Just a word to the wise: there are no reservations.

Yelp
4.5- I will never stop asking for 1/2 stars Yelp! Fantastic service-Food was delicious-Brussels-Pork Belly-Honey-nut Squash Cheesecake-Mezcal Drink My friends got the Squash Soup Chicken Sandwich Burger-burger needed seasoning according to my friend-only thing that was not devoured at our table. Off street parking which is appreciated in Providence. Dining room a little loud so it was tough to hear across the table but the place was completely full at 6:00 on a Tuesday! If there is a wait there is a brewery next door and directly across the street. Will definitely go back soonish!

Yelp
#3...seriously my dog died. My precious boy. I came here back in 2018 when my 20 yr old cat died--I was consoled then and comforted. Guess I'm hoping to ease my broken heart. The place is smaller than I remember--a little more unkempt. BJ the bartender was affable as was Bobby sitting next to me. The food was scrumptious. Moroccan meatballs over cous cous--very different, delicious. (I've since made them at home--outrageous) Duck drumettes with a white sauce--fab! My wife had the fish sandwich of which I had a bite. She liked it. If it was mine, I would have sent it back. Fish smell and taste--not good. The Boursin toast was excellent as was the dessert of Toffee Pudding --more a cake than anything--but really good. I was not consoled...probably never will be. Love you Bomber boy!!

Yelp
Visited The Slow Rhode in a group - waited about 20 minutes for a table. Place fills up quick on a Friday night. This time, we shared the Duck Drumettes and they were DELICIOUS! The white bbq sauce and tenderness of the duck was *chef's kiss*. I ordered the fish sandwich with fries and ate it up. The menu is pretty simple, but the food is really good. Paired my meal with tequila on the rocks. Good portion for the prices and service was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend going with a maximum of group of three, however, as the seats are tight and you might need to wait for a seat.

Yelp
What a fantastic meal! I love leaving a restaurant with an ear-to-ear smile because of how good food can be. I just had a gorgeous, 3-course meal and have absolutely zero notes. I started the night off with a spritzy, fruity "Vodka (Up)". Had a well-done Burger that came with the absolute BEST fries I've had in a while. Then, finished the night off with Okai Sweet's Dark Chocolate Cake. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Okai Sweet's chef has top-quality taste and flavors, and I'm so grateful they sell their desserts at the Slow Rhode. To top it all off, the server was kind, attentive, and quick. This place is a favorite!

Yelp
A new favorite in Providence. Drinks were prepared perfectly. Impressive signature cocktail menu. American Chop Suey with ground chicken and pork, along with pickled jalapeños was a great dish. Fried chicken sand, cooked perfectly, paired with a size of fresh and crispy fries. Can't wait to come back and explore the rest of the menu.

Yelp
I love the autumn squash soup and Brussel sprouts (not pictured). I did not enjoy my burger and the fries were full of black pepper. If you do not like black pepper (like myself) make sure to ask for none on your fries. The burger was flavorless. However, the squash cheesecake - out of this world. Glad I finally tried you Slow Rhode.

Robert M.

Yelp
Cramped space, rude bartenders, mediocre food at best. Typical providence. Enough of this pseudo-culinary nonsense.

Yelp
Long time fan of Broadway Bistro. This was my first time coming to Slow Rhode and I was not disappointed - the Boursin toast, watermelon salad, and truffle Mac and cheese left me speechless. The space is absolutely adorable, and service was outstanding as always. They were very accommodating in regards to my friends nut allergy.

Yelp
The Slow Road is a refreshing change of pace, offering a creative dining experience in a laid-back setting. The staff are welcoming and attentive, making you feel instantly at ease. The Slow Road is a spot where you can relax, enjoy, and truly appreciate each moment. Duck wings were something special.

Yelp
This is my third time coming here and I will say the food here has gone downhill. The place is very aesthetically pleasing inside and its a good private spot to hang out at. The service was good the food came out quickly. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was honestly the most mid meal I probably ever had it tasted only like ketchup and sausage and the serving was tiny (which im glad cause I really did not enjoy it at all). The burger was decent it was good and flavorful. Overall I probably wont be coming back cause the menu is very limited and a lot of it isn't really southern.

Yelp
Tried one of the dishes off their " veg" menu and it was to die for! Though it was a small plate, it was very filling. The combination of ingredients was absolutely divine and made for a delicious dinner! Their prices are also reasonable :) our waitress was very kind and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience even on a pretty busy night! Can't wait to come back to try more of their dishes

Yelp
There's a reason why Slow Rhode Date Night has become a thing. We find ourselves here all the time to: a) fulfill a specific craving (that pork belly dish) b) soak up the good vibes & good music c) enjoy a killer cocktail d) relax because we know it'll be good, every single time During our most recent visit we tried the duck drumettes with white BBQ sauce & couldn't believe how delicious it was. The craziest part - it was $7. Nothing really beats The Slow Rhode when it comes to quality for price. Special shoutout to the hostess/renaissance woman. Serving customers at tables, at the front, behind the bar, all while serving face. She's fabulous & I enjoy seeing her every time we come in. Special shoutout to the bartender Antonio for the killer dealer's choice drink - mezcal, lemon, chartreuse, montenegro, & egg white, served up. Perfection. 6/5 stars.

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this place and it was GREAT!! Highly highly reccomend. I don't eat out at ncie provdince spots often so I don't have much to compare but this is a top spot for me. Good vibes for a date night or good friend date. Service was great too. Risotto was our favorite dish.

Yelp
One of my top three favorite restaurants in Providence. Casual and pleasant environment, stellar food and the staff are always a delight. I have never had a mediocre cocktail or dish on any of my dozen or so visits. Not always sure what a menu item will taste like, but have always been rewarded by choosing something unusual. Za'atar in a cocktail, yes please!

Yelp
Adorable vibes in this spot. The ambiance is warm, dimly lit, cozy, and always playing great music. The menu skews new-American and a little southern. I've had some great meals here. The mushroom risotto at Slow Rhode might be the best mushroom risotto I've had. The texture was perfect, and the mushrooms were a little acidic in a way that beautifully contrasted the richness of the dish. I would recommend that off their menu the most. Their spicy chicken sandwich is also extra crispy and worth a try. The servers here are incredibly kind and accommodating. My friend threw her birthday party here and the waitstaff went out of their way to help us arrange tables for a larger crowd, despite the small space (and gifted her a birthday shot). The location is great, nestled in the west end, it's walkable to a lot of other great nighttime spots Providence to hit up afterwards.

Yelp
Verdict: Neutral. Price: $104 (including tip) for 5 dishes and 2 beers. Serves 2 men comfortably. Reasonably priced. Food (5/10): Pork Belly: Dish of the meal. Tender and well-seasoned, complemented by a creamy and subtle parsnip puree. Beef Empanada: Satisfying fried empanadas filled with braised beef brisket. Duck Drumettes: Overly deep-fried and seemed to use a generic sauce. Hot Fried Chicken: Bun was dense and reminiscent of a McDonald's burger. Lamb Presse: Average. Service (6/10): Adequate service. Ambiance (5/10): Dimly lit dining space with a mix of bar and table seating.

Yelp
First night in providence and this place really made an impression. Never thought I could get southern food all the way up here in RI, yet alone good southern food. Great ambience and atmosphere. Very quaint and mellow. You would think the vibe is more of a bar but I think it would be the food. Everything we ordered had such wonderful flavors separate of their own. Such tense flavors. The staff are friendly and food comes out quick. Portions, I think, are perfect in size. I would compare them to tapas. Goes so well with a cocktail or beer. What a way to start off RI and if this is what I can expect from the rest of its culinary encounters, boy, watch out. I definitely would return and highly recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious Arugula/Beet/Goat Cheese salad. We ate half of it before the picture. Would come again even just for that. Small plate portions were surprisingly larger than we expected and with fantastic flavor profiles. The slaw under the ribs was sweet and crunchy. The fries and gravy were the perfect comfort dish for a cold rainy day. The burger was just ok. Patty was cooked to perfection, otherwise nothing special flavor/texture wise. The fries were on point. We arrived just as it opened on a Wednesday and it filled up fairly quick after. Service was prompt and courteous. Vibes were chill.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a while, and often recommend this place. But when I came in for dinner this week, I was really really disappointed by the food. The dishes ranged from unappetizing to kind of yucky. We had the pork belly, the chickpea curry, and the lamb meatballs. The pork belly was on a bed of wild rice porridge with kale and pears. It really didn't work together -- the kale imparted an odd bitterness to the dish. The curry -- had no spices in it. I felt like I was eating a can of chickpeas mixed into marinara sauce. The meatballs -- the meatballs themselves were tasty, but they were hot and the quinoa (which they called a "tabouleh" but was really just a cafeteria-style quinoa with some chopped vegetables in it) was cold, and so it was really unappetizing. It felt like airplane food. I think they must have changed the menu and not tested (or even tasted!) anything. Ugh what a waste of money. Too bad.

Yelp
The service was poor, but the food was worse... Wanted to love this place, great vibe when you walk in the door I followed the bartender's recommendation and ordered the duck drumies, I also ordered the pate and the soup special (I overheard them telling the patrons next to me about it, but they did not tell me about any specials). Glad I heard about the clam and hominy soup special because everything else was not good at all. The pate was as sweet as a dessert and the duck was dry and over-sauced If the service was good (they didn't even react to the fact that I had them clear my full plates..) I would be inclined to try them out again, but it's currently not likely

Yelp
It's a cute little place to grab a bite to eat, but it's really gone downhill. All the food is just over salted and over seasoned, trying to cover up the horrible flavors underneath.
google avatar

Yelp
An amazing spot for small groups, dates, or a solo night out, the Slow Rhode is one of my new favorite spots in Providence. Their menu isn't super extensive, either with food or what's on tap, but from what I hear it rotated fairly often. Not to mention the food is fantastic, and the prices are unbelievably low. The bartender was very attentive and never left me waiting for long even though the bar was full. Also my food came out in less then 10 minutes. This place is definitely worth a stop.
google avatar

Gabriela E.

Yelp
Food was MID But the vibe was nice + music was good I'd go back just for the atmosphere. My burger was way to salty. I've never had a salty burger . And it also needed some kind of sauce . I was not a fan of my drink either . Service was great as well
google avatar

Yelp
Came back here after a long hiatus. I still love this place. Their food and drinks are on point. The fried chicken sandwich was excellent. Loved the crisp on the outside, the tender meat inside, and the sauce, which has hints of spice & slight sweetness to it. Got the mezcal (up) and the Japanese whisky cocktails. Both were pretty good, with unique flavors. The Mezcal drink was not too smoky and was very well-balanced. Overall great spot for late-night food and drinks. Their kitchen's open till 12:30a.

Yelp
Excellent food and served fast! Good drinks! Space is tight but overall good atmosphere.

Yelp
Amazing. I had the duck drummettes, the pork belly w/ grits and the beets & Brussels. **chef's kiss**. It was amazing. I don't think I saw dessert on the menu. There should be dessert. The pork belly was thick & crispy with a tender center. And the grits.... So creamy. Like how'd ya'll do your grits like that? No really.... How. Message me cause how. I tasted the grits and my eyes rolled back. Never have I ever!!! My waitress Cori was perfection. She was upbeat. Attentive and just a sweetheart. I'll be back in 2 weeks because it was was THAT good.

Yelp
When I read that one redditor's last meal on earth would be the duck drumettes from Slow Rhode I knew I had to stop in. We went for a date night dinner, which was perfect considering the candlelit interior. It's a little tight in there with maybe 8 tables and a bar (and walk-in only) but we had no trouble getting seated about an hour before close. We had two orders of the duck drumettes and the hot fried chicken. The duck drumettes were very good and falling off the bone, but I don't know if I'd die for them flavor-wise. The hot fried chicken was kind of soggy but had a good kick. We picked two beers off the menu to start things off but both weren't available so we audibled to other options. Service was fine but we felt rushed and only one of us got a beer glass before we asked for the second.
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I order at Slow Rhode I am never disappointed. My go to items are the fries and gravy, and duck drumettes. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere.
google avatar

Russ B.

Yelp
The food is fantastic, it feels like every ingredient on the menu is specifically cooked, every time I've come. Had the boursin&salmon, duck confit fries & drumettes, and the spicy Mac. Everything was perfect (& the drinks *chefkiss*)
google avatar

Yelp
YES YES AND YES!!! My family and I were so hungry that we did not take the time to take pictures. We just grubbed!!! This isn't just a bar that sells mediocre food. This is a bar/restaurant that serves high quality and creative dishes that appealed so much to our foodie pallet!! The vibe was chill and the staff provided friendly customer service! Please note, we didn't order food until 12:15 am and the kitchen closes at 12:30 am. Our food was not rushed and made fresh! We had the hush puppies, duck drumettes, polenta frites, and the Cuban dip. IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS!!!! And their white barbecue sauce is a HIT!! I will be back 10/10

Alexander S.

Yelp
Cool vibe, tasty food. The poutine fries are a must. We also loved the duck drumettes and the croquettes. Prices are reasonable too. Wish I lived closer.

Yelp
1st time here for a pre-birthday celebration for my wife. A suggestion from a friend at LLB. Small intimate space with simple decor. Service was on par for a busy Saturday night dining experience. I ordered the Bourbon Plus and my wife got the Tequila cocktails. Both were well made and delicious. Since it was a special occasion, we both ordered appetizers. The special Corned Beef Croquettes with the Duck Drumettes (Per recommendation) Again, both were delicious and a great precursor to out meals. I went all in and got the Lamb Shank. Super fall off the bone meat with chickpeas & Moroccan spices. My wife ordered the Asparagus & Goat Cheese Tart. Had a bite of hers and it was spectacular. Didn't realize this little gem was right under my nose this whole time. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my husband, we arrived at about 6pm and the restaurant is located in a strip of restaurants so the parking lot was a little busy. We were quickly seated and brought over drinks. The ambiance is very laid back, the lights are dim and overall very nice. The first thing I noticed when I sat down were tons of fruit flies on the wall. My husband was very uncomfortable but we decided to stay. I ordered the fried oyster and the fish sandwich as well as the rum rocks drink. My husband ordered the cheddar jalapeño frites and the hot chicken entree. Overall the food was good. During our entire time there fruit flies were around, we kept having to swat them away and cover our drinks. It was very uncomfortable and made the experience less pleasant. Like I said the food was good but having that many fruit flies in the establishment and on the walls behind where patrons are sitting was what left a sour taste for me.

Yelp
The menu here really caters towards shared meal experiences and a more causal environment. Definitely not the place to go if you are afraid of appetizers. The BLT was wonderful as was one of the veggie apps (YUM to the sauce). The environment can be a little cramped...probably a little more of a second date rather than first date kind of location and was VERY warm in the summer. Fun drinks menu!
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
First impression is a small inside that squeezes the customers in. However it does have a small eating space outside. I guess with the signature drinks, eclectic food choices, the music screams hipster. The popcorn was seasoned perfectly with a beet salt topping. Omg the meats - pork belly and roast beef is delicious. But the beet salad was out of this world. Compliments to the chef. Oh the vodka drink had a little pepper taste with make it kind of smoky tasting. I am very pleasantly surprised and the opened garage door created such great ambiance. I definitely will be back. This was a great explosion of flavor!!!

Yelp
I visited Slow Rhode for the RI Food Fights burger competition. Parking is in a shared lot. I've always wanted to try this place so I'm excited it was in the competition! It's very small and cozy, with half as a bar and the other half with two people tables against the wall. When it's warm, people can sit in the "patio" which is an enclosed space in the front. The music was pretty loud so it was a little tough to hear what my friend was saying. Otherwise, it's a very nice atmosphere. The menu is small and meant more for sharing with people to accommodate drinks. The burger had lettuce, cheddar, and sweet onion. The burger was flavorful with a pepper finish. The onion jam added sweetness. I'm not sure if I would come back for the burger, but it was nice to try once. The fries are seasoned with the right amount of salt and pepper. So that was a win in my book. I'll definitely return to try more dishes on the menu and maybe their drinks.

Yelp
what can you say when you had no intention of being here, but by some mysterious force of nature you find yourself to be one of the twelve couples sitting across one another in this dark room. There's a dim light between you and your date. Considering it's Friday night- you make conversation about your week and the contents of the specials menu. As you chat with your partner you both can't help but loose the momentum of your conversation as you overhear the people sitting next to you. You camouflage yourself into the noise of the restaurant to listen in without the other party detecting your attention. As it so happens to be, the guest sitting to your right might actually be closer to you than your date. You can see more of him. You can smell more of him. Although he is a stranger there is some familiar essence emanating from him. Is it the sound of his voice? Maybe you've spoken to him before, like on the phone when making an appointment with the dentist. Or Maybe he's a cashier at a store you frequent. It's hard to say why but he has stolen your attention tonight. You wonder what he's doing here. Who is he with? They seem to be getting to know each other. Or is it possible that they themselves are just having a fake conversation in hopes that they can listen to you? And it is actually you that has caught their eye? And they themselves desperately seek to understand how you came to be? Could your experiences be more parallel than you think? If this were to be true you could just push these tables a few inches together and dine as a party of four. You could order several items from the menu and be able to try a few different things. You could cheers your drinks to something like "Friendship" or "good health". You could smile and laugh together and surrender to the night leading a new life driven by spontaneity and excitement sprinkled with a dash of trust. But how will you split that bill? These are important questions to ask at a place like this. It's tasty but it can sometimes be hard to see.

Yelp
Very cool little restaurant that I discovered thanks to RI Food Fights burger month. Great beer and drinks menu and they have seating both inside and out. The menu is limited, but looks strong. I went with the only burger option they offered and added bacon, bacon is always worth an up charge. The burger was very simple; lettuce, cheddar and sweet onions. The bun, ah, the bun. It came with a nice soft bun that was a perfect fit for the simplicity of the burger. The burger itself had really good flavor and was seasoned properly. The fries came with the option to add their duck confit gravy to them. Great addition. The fries were solid, but the addition of the gravy definitely took them to another level.

Yelp
I popped in on my last night in RI, the menu looked great (courtesy of Yelp) so we decided to check it out. Finding The Slow Rhode was a little tricky as it's in the cut and in a dimly lit area. We weren't sure where to park as it was pretty packed on a Thursday, but our car didn't get towed so I'm assuming the full parking lot (on both sides) is available to customers. This place is very industrial looking, it looks hip, and it's dog friendly. There were at least three dogs (with their owners) around while we were there. My bestie and I sat at the bar and cut up with Dave the whole night even though it was pretty busy. He was hilarious and gave us great suggestions based on my lactose-free diet. I'm from the north, but I live in the south now and I was pleasantly surprised to see southern items like hot chicken and gumbo. Everything is made in-house including the condiments (I love that!) The menu also offers signature cocktails. My friend ordered the rum, which she thought tasted like medicine but was nice and strong. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. My chicken sandwich was good but not great. Fries were a bit too salty for me. I wasn't a huge fan of the honey mustard. I'm not sure what it was but it had something in it that made my tongue pop, (google for reference because I can't explain). My best friend ordered the hot fried chicken with potato salad and white bread. She loves spicy, but the chicken was TOO spicy for her - poor thing. Unfortunately there weren't levels to the spicy like there usually is for hot chicken, so she was SOL on that front. I ate her potato salad - good. This place definitely has a lot of potential but I'm biased. Great service, great vibes!

Yelp
Perfect spot for a date night. We really enjoyed the food - quality ingredients and flavorful dishes. Loved the duck!!! Music and ambiance were trendy. I recommend to give this place a try!

Yelp
I was intrigued by The Slow Rhode after seeing all of the positive reviews on Yelp. Although the menu is small, I saw a variety of items that would appeal to my family (duck for my daughter, gumbo for hubby and cocktails for me!!). We were staying at the Omni and it was only a 15-20 minute walk. What I didn't realize at the time was that we were walking over the highway from the East side to the West side. On a previous trip here, our Uber driver told us not to walk across the highway. Oops. Not sure what the concern was at the time. We did not have any issues. The restaurant space is quite small but we did not have any issue being seated right away on a Friday night. We ordered the gumbo, Brussels sprouts and the poutine (fries w/duck and gravy). Hubby really enjoyed the gumbo - it had a good amount of heat, crawfish and a small amount of rice which was the perfect amount. I'm not a fan of duck but my daughter and hubby enjoyed the poutine. I myself was happy with the fries and crumbled cheese on top. The Brussels sprouts were just ok. Our server said that they roast them first and then caramelize them. I was so excited to give the Brussels sprouts a try BUT they were just OK. They were more steamed in texture than roasted/caramelized. As far as cocktails go, I tried the tequila and hubby tried the bourbon. I was excited to try the tequila drink due to the 'house smoked' poblano tequila. The drink was more fruity and citrusy than smokey. It was good but I would want to try something else next time. Shout out to our server. She was attentive, informative and all around a great hostess.

Yelp
Food very good. Good music. Very solid beer selection. Not sure any of it is good enough to justify the slowness of service. I mean slow is right there in the name lol so maybe I should've expected it. But I've been twice for dinner, once by myself and once with another person, and it was SLOW. If you don't mind that you'll love this place

Yelp
There are a lot of quality dining options in the west end, but for a consistently all around great meal there are few places that can compete with The Slow Rhode. The menu here rotates so it's hard to point to one signature dish, especially with all their unique specials. They do however, feature a few staples that I often come back to. The duck drumettes are deliciously crispy without being sinewy or overcooked. Additionally, the white bbq sauce they are served with compliments them perfectly. The mac and cheese with tazo is a great choice for a hearty and filling meal that doesn't require paying up. Finally, any of the vegetable small plates are worth trying. More often than not they are the highlight of the meal. I say this as someone who usually orders a vegetable only based dish somewhat reluctantly. The space here is smaller which can affect the wait at times, but it definitely adds to the ambiance hereIf you aren't with a larger party sitting at the bar is the way to go The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. They do a good job of recognizing a familiar face, but are attentive to both new and regular guests alike. If you're having a drink they have a rotating list of custom cocktails that I can't recommend enough. Typically I'll go with whatever tequila/mescal drink they are featuring, though they have plenty of other options to choose from. Personally can't recommend this restaurant enough. If you're near Federal Hill and looking for something different than the same old Italian meal check out The Slow Rhode, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Been looking forward to bar hopping around this area and Slow Rhode seemed like a great place to have some awesome looking dishes along the way. I shared a drink appetizer and entree. All three were spot on. The food was most definitely a hit for me. Our aloe drink was very clean and refreshing, everything was done right. Pork belly was amazing ! Loved the purées on the dish. The stuffy was packed with flavor that was not overpowering or salty like they can been when adding chorizo. Our server was ignorant. I'm sure you've had complaints about his pretentious self. If I am coming to dine on a Saturday evening with my partner and we're greeted by his service statement, "did you set a timer" because we showed up at 5pm to order, is that very welcoming ? Lol no. I did set a timer lol I was excited to try the food. And then to arrogantly explain how a restaurant works, " we work differently over here, we come to you". No shit. sit down buddy.. millennials maybe lol idk .

Yelp
The Slow Rhode exceeded our expectations by being... FAST! The two of us arrived at prime dinner time on a Saturday and were immediately seated. The space feels hip with a long bar as well as outdoor seating. The Southern-inspired menu isn't extensive, with a few larger entrees as well as smaller shareable plates. The menu also has their cocktails, and the draft beers are listed on the wall. To drink, I ordered a Lowland Villager Saison from RI-based Shaidzon (which I LOVED). Quickly after ordering, our food begins arriving as it's prepared. We get the duck drumlettes first (4), which were tender and tasty with white BBQ sauce and scallions. Then the Hot Fried Chicken and Roasted Cauliflower make their appearances. The crispy chicken's heat hits you a bit after you bite, and the spice level is just right. The pickles, potato salad, and white bread really help temper the heat... and make this dish mighty tasty. The cauliflower was prepared unlike any other veggie I've ever had, roasted for a smoky flavor and covered with a yummy bourbon sauce. If my mom had prepared vegetables like this, I would have had no issues clearing my plate! The Slow Rhode was the perfect pre-WaterFire meal: away from the crowds, speedy service, and daggone delicious!

Yelp
First visit, a bit busy but service was prompt and friendly. We had a few nice apps and drinks. Will visit again.
