The Smugglers Hostel family room was perfect for our family of four. Two sets of bunk beds and a private bathroom. The kitchen area was clean and convenient. Excellent location, very easy to find and check in.

Great hostel. Clean, comfy, well equipped kitchen, would cope with groups. Dog friendly. I enjoyed all the maps on the walls.

We camped in the garden and had access to the facilities. A typical youth hostel, slightly smelly when not ventilated but fine after, looked after with a great kitchen.

This hostel also offers a few camping pitches outside which have full access to the facilities! Nice stop over camp as your travel through the cairngorms, the town has a great restaurant too which is walkable from the hostel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Smugglers Hostel. We were bikepacking and everything was made for that. Clean and nice.

I stayed a single night and had the whole building to myself, other than a brief visit from one of the staff at breakfast time. Dorm rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate. Very well equipped kitchen for self catering and lots of seating. Village shop, pub and restaurants are a few minutes walk away. Camping pitches available in the hostel garden, which also contains a number of apple trees. Secure bike sheds were great to see, with drying facilities and electric charging for e-bikes.

We camped in the walled garden, with all the facilities of the hostel right there and available to us. |Really clean and modern kitchen, toilets and showers, plus 2 shed for drying and bike storage. |Lots of information about what to see and do nearby, it’s a great base to explore. And plenty of board games for when the weather was a wee bit wet!

Extremely well equipped hostel with a big kitchen and communal space. I was on a bike-packing trip so the bike shed and drying shed were very useful after a long day in the saddle. Only 5 minutes walk from the village shop. I would happily stay here again.
