The Snop House (Senglea, Malta) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In Senglea’s old town, The Snop House is a 6-room guesthouse set in a limestone building rebuilt after the Second World War. It is run by a French couple with a long-standing love for Malta, and each room is themed around a different aspect of the island, from maritime history to Maltese spirituality, using sculpture, color, and subtle design cues. Central sights are all within easy reach, either by ferry or a walk across the harbor. Everything feels easy here, including coming back." - Tablet Hotels

Simply put - The Snop House was ideal in everywhere and we loved our stay. Firstly the General Manager and the staff were welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. The property itself, and the rooms, are beautiful and immaculately clean and maintained - with beautiful art everywhere. In a busy city, the area was a quiet oasis yet near restaurants, lovely walks and easy transportation (bus stops outside the door). With non-stop flights soon to start from New York City - we plan to visit more often and will Happyily stay at The Snop House.

Stayed at The Snop House for 5 nights in August 2025 and loved my stay there. Room was very comfortable, clean, thoughtfully decorated and quiet. I liked the location. Breakfast was delicious with a local speciality on offer each day as part of the selection. Shawn was very kind and helpful. Also loved the rooftop honesty bar- a beautiful spot for a sunset drink.

Booked through Booking.com and had a wonderful stay. Upon arrival, the staff were exceptionally kind, letting us leave our luggage at reception well before check-in time — we arrived about four hours early, and they checked us in as soon as the room was ready. Rooms are cleaned daily, with free bottled water replenished in the fridge along with coffee and tea. The bathrooms are modern with a spacious shower area and stocked with everything you might need: towels, shampoo, hair caps, slippers, and more. Thick walls ensure peace and quiet, and the in-room air conditioning keeps things comfortable. The rooftop offers a charming honesty bar stocked with beers and local wines — you simply note what you had and pay at check-out. Breakfast is generous, with ham, cheese, salami, jams, eggs, bread, croissants, a variety of coffees, and fresh orange juice, plus a different specialty dish each day. The location is very convenient, with two shops right next door and a bus stop just 10 meters away. The surrounding area is calm and peaceful, making it perfect for a relaxing stay.

The hotel is full of wonderful art and the rooms are gorgeous. The rooftop bar was an unexpected bonus. Great breakfast. Also an excellent location - easy to walk to the ferry to Valletta and easy walking distance of plenty of good restaurants.

Absolutely incredible hotel and I would recommend this to anyone. The inside, including the rooms are beautiful, modern and quirky. The rooms are spacious and we had a balcony which was perfect.||The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were incredibly helpful and polite throughout the trip. ||The hotel is located in a beautiful area of Malta and only a ten minute walk away from the Valletta Ferry.||I would recommend this to anyone!

We have just spent a week at the Snop House and have nothing but praise for the accommodation and staff who made the stay a real pleasure. The owners of the House have clearly not stinted in the refurbishment they have made to the property which has transformed the interior of a traditional Maltese house into a luxurious place to stay without losing the original feel. A feature of the House is the extensive range of interesting paintings and sculptures. The absence of a television in the room was initially surprising but actually if anything it enhanced the holiday and meant instead unwinding with a book and a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace or taking advantage of the nearby bars and restaurants surrounding the harbour. Others have mentioned the ease of access to Valetta via the ferry, whilst the bus service on the island is cheap. It's worth flagging that the most direct route to the harbour and ferry is via a flight of 98 steps but if mobility is an issue then the bus stop is almost adjacent to Snop House. Shawn and Elia could not have been more welcoming and helpful. That sense of welcome was reflected in everyone we met from the island and - together with its fascinating history - made for a great holiday.

We had a great week-long stay at Snop House and really enjoyed everything about it. Shawn, who looked after our booking and greeted us when we arrived, was so friendly and attentive—he made sure everything went smoothly from the start.||Breakfast each morning was such a treat, with fresh croissants, jams, yogurt, and a few Maltese specialties like Pastizzi, gbejna and helwa tat-Tork. It was a really nice way to start the day.||Our room was super comfortable, and we loved having a mini fridge, coffee and tea setup, plus our own robe and slippers—it felt like a little extra bit of luxury.||We also really enjoyed ending our days up on the rooftop bar area. There were drinks available, and it was such a relaxing spot to hang out in the evenings.||The location is great too—easy to get to Valletta and explore the Three Cities. All in all, it was a lovely stay and we’d definitely recommend it
