The Social Hub Groningen

Loved my extended stay at the Social Hub. The studio was nice, clean and good size. The small kitchenette with fridge, stove and cooking utensils were so convenient. Bathroom on the smaller size. The food at the restaurant was excellent with a nice variety to chose from. The location is a very short walk to the town centre and close to a Jumbo supermarket. Finally the staff has been so nice and accomodating. Always ready to help and assist where needed. Anna was a true gem and so considerate and attentive. Hanneke at the front desk always went the extra mile. I would recommend this hotel for students, couples, friends and family traveling to Groningen. It is a hip, modern and fun hotel that won't dissapoint.

Everything went as expected. The hotel is in a very good location 3 minutes walk from the center, yet in a quite neighbourhood. The personel was polite and helpful, the room clean and spacious. Breakfast had a fair price for the quality ,quantity and variety available

Location and desk staff very good. Not thrilled about the state of the room (half the stuff was unplugged, my cabinet was the wrong way around??? The shower gel and moisturiser were switched around in the bathroom.) The bed was also too firm for someone with back pain. The room size is good for the price.

It is 80% a student residence. Good if you want to work as it offers many spaces for it, gym, laundry, etc. But the rooms they offer leave a lot to be desired. From the water heater, impossible to use because of the dirt it accumulates, to the coffee machine, the water after changing the water tank three times, continues to come out very cloudy. And the humidity of the wall. The plug is only on one side of the bed, which by the way is not at all comfortable.

The room I got was spacious, well designed and at a quiet spot in the hotel. I looked over at the inner garden, so if there would have been noise from the lively city, I would not have heard it. I like the gym, it is very complete. Breakfast also had everything you can imagine and wish for.

I have worked for Marriott for 15 yrs and this hotel service was better. ||They cared and always went above and beyond for us.||The hotel was great, clean, location was perfect, all the facilities was in great condition. ||Great work and thank you for the hospitality

My experience was TERRIBLE. I initially booked two nights and extended for a third. The first night was fine, and the staff were great. However, on the second night, around 4 a.m., a woman entered my room using the same card key I had, as the door had no internal lock. It was terrifying, and soon after, a staff member entered to apologize. Can you imagine that two people entered my room while I was in bed? I couldn’t sleep after that. In the morning, the staff seemed unaware of what had happened, and I requested to speak with the manager, who wasn’t available. Later, I was told it was a technical error. I had to change rooms as I didn’t feel safe. On the third day, the hotel asked me to move my belongings during my internship, which led to several phone negotiations to keep my things in the room until I returned. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had in Europe, even compared to budget hotels, as I never felt safe.

Very good bedroom, with views on the back side. Quiet floor.|People working at the STH are all nice and facilities on the ground floor good as well.|The people performing the cleaning activities are very helpful and silent. I will definitely re-stay if I come back to the city
