I am a student who came here to live during my studies. I deeply regret ending up in this place and would not recommend anyone to stay here.
For €1300+ (and for some reason, you also have to pay an additional €150 city tax), you get a tiny room that is already very dirty — the walls are stained, and the curtains and floors are in terrible condition.
Another major problem is the kitchen. It’s always in a disgusting state, and you will constantly have to eat in filth. No matter what you do, other students will not wash their dishes, leave food everywhere, and hang out there all the time, making it impossible to eat in a clean and comfortable environment.
If the kitchen remains dirty for three consecutive weeks, every person assigned to that kitchen will receive a €150 fine — even if you explain that you have no control over the situation.
But the biggest problem I faced was bedbugs. I will attach photos. In the very first days of staying here, I started waking up with strange red spots on my hands and legs. I couldn’t understand what it was, since there were no mosquitoes. Then I decided to look under the bed — and found a huge number of bedbugs.
It was during the night, and all the staff member did was give me some insect spray and tell me to kill them myself. I understood that he was working part-time, so I didn’t argue, sprayed the room, and realized that it was impossible to sleep because of the horrible smell. When I asked for another room, the staff refused, and I had to stay awake until morning.
In the morning, the manager came and finally found me another room. They told me that a cleaning company had treated my old room, and after that, there were no more bedbugs. However, what the manager told me afterward made me furious — I received an email saying that there were no bedbugs and never had been, and that if I was worried about the bites, I should see a doctor.
I strongly do not recommend this hotel or student accommodation. It’s just a complete money scam.
I will also say something about the area where the student hotel is located. It is a terrible area with a high crime rate, and random people often enter the space for studying or working. Some people come to play billiards or tennis, while others unfortunately visit the gym. They simply follow the hotel guests and have fun. At this time, the security guard is conversing with the students in the hotel's courtyard. In conclusion, I would like to say that if you are a THUAS student, do not worry about the hotel being too close to the university. Instead, consider finding a better option that may be more affordable. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
