The Somerset Hotel

We stayed at The Somerset Hotel for one night due to an early flight transfer. After a rather disappointing experience at our previous island resort, our expectations were quite low—but this hotel completely turned things around. It was honestly the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly at home. The room was incredibly cozy and fully equipped with everything you could need: high-quality toiletries (body wash, conditioner, body lotion, hand soap), room slippers, plush towels, and bathrobes. We also appreciated the drinking water and the in-room coffee machine. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to Bibek, who met us at the airport and escorted us to the hotel. He was exceptional! He went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, ensuring we had plenty of water in our room and keeping us great company during the transfer. The rest of the staff was equally wonderful, providing us with excellent recommendations on what to see in the city. After a difficult holiday, the kindness and professionalism we found here were a breath of fresh air. Well done to the whole team—you made us feel like family!

Great service and value. Vincent helped me checked in and even though I was there much earlier than check in time he managed to have the room ready for me. He also got me great deal to extend my room the next day as my flight was almost midnight. Room was as expected, nothing fancy but good size, very clean and everything works - in room Nespresso is a ++ point!! Highly recommended.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Somerset Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Every question or small problem I had was handled quickly and kindly. Service felt attentive without being intrusive. The central location in Male made it easy to get anywhere I needed. I’d gladly recommend Somerset to anyone looking for reliable, comfortable accommodation in Male.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Male! The location is fantastic—just a 5-minute walk to the vibrant fish market and wet market, making it easy to explore local flavors. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. We especially appreciated the free airport transfers, which made traveling with our children so much smoother and stress-free. Highly recommend for families!

If you want to visit Male then this hotel is in a good location. We had to stay over due to a late flight. It was clean, everything worked well and the ac was super cold. All the staff wete really good aswell.

Visited on a business trip .the place is located in the center of city where you can access everywhere in maldives. The front desk hospitality is warmly welcoming ,the room that I got was very cozy and well cleaned spacious enough to move around.resturant staff was very nice hats off to Sadun & Ann and the chef team for going extra mile making a delicious food .I would recommend to anyone to try out this place.

Nice hotel in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of all the sights. The rooms are spacious, functionally furnished and clean. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a large selection of buffet and a la carte dishes. The transfer from/to the airport was excellent. Overall, a highly recommended hotel for a few days in the capital of the Maldives.

The Sommerset was perfect for our transit out to the islands. They managed to fit our whole family in (14 people) at the last minute and nothing was too much. A late airport pick up, perfectly clean room, lovely breakfast in the morning and then straight back to the airport. But it was the heavenly staff that really made our stay. Thank you, we look forward to being back on our return. Thanks team!
