The Somerset Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Male! The location is fantastic—just a 5-minute walk to the vibrant fish market and wet market, making it easy to explore local flavors. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. We especially appreciated the free airport transfers, which made traveling with our children so much smoother and stress-free. Highly recommend for families!

Nice hotel in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of all the sights. The rooms are spacious, functionally furnished and clean. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a large selection of buffet and a la carte dishes. The transfer from/to the airport was excellent. Overall, a highly recommended hotel for a few days in the capital of the Maldives.

The Sommerset was perfect for our transit out to the islands. They managed to fit our whole family in (14 people) at the last minute and nothing was too much. A late airport pick up, perfectly clean room, lovely breakfast in the morning and then straight back to the airport. But it was the heavenly staff that really made our stay. Thank you, we look forward to being back on our return. Thanks team!

Quiet comfortable and well-presented. Excellent room size for what is a very compact city! Very convenient for Jetties, Museum and many and larger shops these days. Professional staff. Excellent food. I would highly recommend it. Can't wait to return. Why bother with the resorts?!

We had a fabulous two night stay before heading off to an island resort. Clean, comfortable and great breakfast included. I especially liked all the amenities that are often missing in hotel rooms since Covid; dental kit, sewing kit, shoer caps etc. Lovely toiletries and…. Drum roll… Nespresso machine in the room.

Our Maldives experience was made truly exceptional by this welcoming hotel. The friendly and attentive service stood out, along with complimentary round-trip airport transfers. A night shift lady staff went above and beyond to resolve my SIM card issue effortlessly. The food was outstanding, and the full-board package offered excellent value for my family, with USD 110 credits for à la carte lunch and dinner. The waitstaff provided impeccable service and checked if we were satisfied with our meals. The location is superb where sultan park, victory monument and national museum are just opposite it. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly introduce it.

Our room was small but had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The adjoining restaurant came in handy.|The only negative was our driver who took us to the airport at the end of our stay. Because we asked him to drop us off at a spot 50 meters from where he wanted to drop us, he insisted we pay him more money!! I was quite disgusted and disappointed with his attitude.

Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Great location, great restaurant. I would highly recommend The Somerset and will definitely stay again on my next visit.|Took care of our TV remote control within minutes! Very clean hotel!! Included is a fabulous breakfast including buffet and full menu.
