"Luxury Family-Friendly Option on Grace Bay Beach Families looking for a luxury boutique villa style hotel experience will dig the Somerset, which has just 53 rooms spread over eight buildings right on Grace Bay Beach (walking distance to DIY snorkeling). A sort of hotel/villa hybrid, digs are in multi-room suites with fully equipped kitchens. It works great for families, especially as dining out in Provo adds up quickly. Beyond the rooms, there is a 70-foot infinity pool to chill by as well as a lengthy list of activities that will keep the kids busy while you do so. A spa and two restaurants -- one casual, the other more formal -- complete the picture. Oh, and on Monday nights, the property's general manager hosts a cocktail hour with free drinks, tapas, and live music for guests. Tuesday nights are dedicated to BBQs on the beach. The villa resort also works well for couples, as the suites here are beyond spacious and very private and there are a few different swimming pool options."

We just left The Somerset. As you can see I do not review places often but felt some things needed to shared. Yes the staff is warm & friendly. Yes the villas are spacious. But if you are looking for convenience, this resort is not it. There is no room service, no hot tub, no espresso machine on property, hard to get a taxi, limited beach service, the pool restaurant closes at 6, no actual building for the kids club that they rave about… We went 3 days buying expensive bottled water at the pool restaurant before we realized you could get cold water from the pool or beach attendants. This is an example of the poor communication throughout. No one told us the restaurant was closed our first night. No one told us how to use the TVs in the villa or that the kids room had electric blackout shades and how to use them. No one told us most of the shops in Regent Village are closed on Sundays. I was told there was only yoga on Tuesdays but then found out after the fact it’s also on Thursdays. It was also very difficult to get chairs at the pool. I brought my 5 year old down at 9:30am to swim and all the chairs by the front pool were “claimed” yet no one was in them. Some of them didn’t come down till lunch. Incredibly rude and the staff should have intervened. ||We booked The Somerset during their Black Friday sale but as the trip was approaching, realized there were 2 beds booking for less per night so I reached out and asked for a complimentary upgrade. They happily obliged yet when we finally got the keys to our villa, it was obvious this is a villa they do not typically book. Yes it was clean but it was very run down with a roach problem. They moved us to a different 2 bed on a higher floor and that’s when I realized we received a faux upgrade. ||I found this property through an influencer whose family is obviously prioritized when they are here. While I still believe it is a nice resort, it was absolutely not for us and I do feel like we were duped by her and her instagram posts. It was obvious while we were here that returning families are prioritized by the staff.

We just returned from a perfect week at The Somerset on Grace Bay. Our family of 24 took over three floors of the Dundee building. Our adventure first began with Stevonya and the rest of the reservation team with lots of questions about accommodations and kitchen items in the units. Each question was thoroughly and patiently answered. |Upon arrival you are greeted with cold towels and a refreshing beverage. While you are enjoying this your luggage is off to your unit. |The units were each perfect in appearance and functionality. Once settled in the pools were just steps away. We had several kids with us ranging from 1 to 5. The easy entry pool was perfect for kids of all heights. |The beach was just a hop, skip, and a jump away which made it easy for the young ones to transition from beach to pool several times a day. |The guys in the pool / beach area could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The same is true of the dining staff that serves you either poolside or on the beach.|This was my second visit to The Somerset and I am already planning our next stay in my mind.

Glad we chose the Tides to stay at! Short walk to the beach and they have umbrellas free for guests to use. Fantastic units complete kitchen, family room, huge bathroom, nice size pool and close walk to restaurants, Salt Mills shops, grocery. The staff are wonderful! Shoutout to Brenda! You’re one in a million and thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality! Will definitely be back!

Great value for boutique hotel just by Grace Bay. Staff is is very welcoming and pleasant. About 100 steps to the beach with chair and umbrella set-ups. Nice pool. Our room slept 2 adults and 2 kids comfortably (2 BRs helped out). Easy bike ride to town and walk to the Fish Fry and Mr. Groupers. Easy and convenient. Definitely will return.

This was my second trip to Turks and Caicos (spent a week at Seven Stars last year) and I was looking for a smaller boutique resort with the same amenities and beautiful facilities, and Somerset did not disappoint. |I stayed in a beautiful, spacious and well appointed 1 bedroom with a loft. My biggest complaint was the long walk to the beach and restaurants/amenities with Seven Stars last year-thus the reason I chose Somerset this year- it is such a great size- wonderful privacy, get just a short jaunt to the beach, spa, pool and restaurants. |The staff was extremely courteous and welcoming, with first class service on the beach (even a complimentary gelato each day!). Plenty of activities for all ages at the beach and pool, themed activities at night, and a delicious pool and beach menu. |The neighboring hotels are conveniently located for other dining options as well. |I was able to drink and dine on property, had a relaxing spa treatment, floated in the ocean, relaxed on the beach (plenty of chairs and umbrellas unlike other resorts), paddle boarded and took a trip in a Hobie Cat! |I was able to view a larger 3 bedroom unit before I left so I can plan my next trip to Somerset with the entire family!|If you are looking for white sand, clear blue water, a stunning resort and clean/modern accommodations- this is a winner.

Absolutely lovely place! It’s luxurious but at the same time boutiquey (not a big hotel feel), and that is the wonderful thing about it. You get to build a rapport with the staff that makes you feel like you are part of the resort and not just another guest. This is the second time we went and it’s so wonderful to go back and build upon the relationships. ||From the start Jon Carlos went out of his way to get us access to one room in our apartment even if it was earlier than check in, as we flew in from London and had three children. When we began to ask, he was already arranging it! These little acts make such a huge difference when you’re jet lagged, have been traveling for hours and are with little ones. ||Next, the kids club! My goodness Ms. Sharon is such a beautiful soul, the children just love her because they feel her love. It’s such a gorgeous thing to witness, my two bigger ones (3&5) have told me all week how they miss her and my five year old said “mummy, I really wish we can see her again”. Which we will if we are lucky. I have to say I was so impressed with the movie night, the details, bags of popcorn, director seats, the big screen, honestly a core memory for sure.||At the pool Mr. Big and Nadine, just so sweet! The thing is they really love the children and get to know you personally so it just feels like you are coming to a family member’s house. ||The resort itself is gorgeous, the apartments are spacious with all high end quality appliances and furniture. With beautiful views especially if you are facing the ocean - that ocean is stunning, the white, wide sand, so much space you never feel like it’s busy even if the resort is full. It’s hard to believe. The pool is also so relaxing if you prefer to not be on the beach. ||Honestly, we love to travel and try new places but this is one that we just want to return to every year and have our children grow knowing everyone as they become adults.
