The Somos Bold

I don’t have a single negative comment to make about this hotel! It’s affordable, safe, communicative and the rooftop is gorgeous. Plus the hotel itself smells so amazing when you walk in. Also, I had used their laundry services for a dress I had worn and received my dress back in pristine condition the same day!! Samuel was a very pleasant employee working the daily breakfasts on the rooftop. The hotel is in a very safe area with walkable restaurants nearby or a short ride share to greater el poblado area. Even if you are staying on the top floor like we did, the hotel is very soundproof and I had no trouble from the music playing from the upstairs. I have to admit this was a hotel where I genuinely felt sad when checking out of. Highly recommend!

This hotel was excellent. Maria went above and beyond helping us organize tours and transportation to and from the hotel. The hotel was clean and nice. It gets a bit loud at night from the rooftop but quiet from midnight onwards. The location is perfect and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. It’s very reasonably priced too. There’s a curtain splitting the room from the bathroom so just a heads up if you’re traveling with other people. Overall highly recommend!

I wanted to like this hotel. I really did. It’s cute and the front desk was very nice… but calling it a four star hotel is a big stretch. Concerns: 1) There is no bathroom door- ie the toilet is essentially inseparable from the bedroom 2) our specific room, the toilet seat was only attached on one side 3) the shower water mixer is broken so at any random moment scorching hot water will come out of the shower head. Bigger picture, design wise, there is a lot is to be desired. The internal spiral staircase traps sound throughout the building. The restaurant on the top floor had live music every night we were there and the extremely loud singing or bass radiates into the rooms until at least 10pm. So if you want to sleep or do anything other than listen to the music from upstairs before 10pm, forget about it. It’s loud, not just some quiet background noise. Other smaller things that just added to the experience: only one elevator that can fit no more than 4 people comfortably, doors stick so you often hear your neighbors coming in and out, it is impossible to turn on shower head without getting in the shower and hiding from the cold water in the corner till it heats up, light switches are in really random locations, bath towels are sized for children, lighting in the bathroom is really bad -forget about having enough light for makeup, and there was no complimentary water to drink in the rooms. The hotel looks so cute on the surface but I would not stay here again.

Great hotel in el Poblado in a good location within just a few mins walk of many great restaurants and bars. Beautiful decor and atmosphere with stunning plant life. Nicely decorated room with good minibar facilities, snacks and tv. The rooftop bar and restaurant has great food and drinks too. The reception staff were very kind and helpful, especially Marian. It was great to be able to WhatsApp them to ask questions and organise things like laundry service, which went very smoothly. Easy check in and check out process compared to most other hotels in Colombia I’ve stayed in. Good selection of food at breakfast too, and the airport transfer service was helpful, communicative and reliable. Thanks to all the team at Somos Bold.

I unfortunately only stayed 1 night, but would have gladly spent all my time at the Somos Bold. Everything was thoughtfully designed and catered to the comfort of guests. Sometimes the more expensive an accommodation is, the less convenient it can be (paying for Wi-Fi, late checkout, etc). However, the Somos provided a luxury experience on all fronts without having to itemize every comfort. The provided breakfast was fresh and nourishing, and the checkout time was 12; which is unheard of for accommodations in the USA. The layout of the floors and rooms were open and spacious without risking ambient echo-noise inside private rooms. Additionally, the bed was comfortable and the sheets extremely soft and cool. The attendants were also friendly and helpful. Marianne was helpful during the checkout process, and gave me some advice for nearby shopping. I felt like the logistics of my stay were well communicated throughout my experience whether that was through the employees, printed messaging, or ambient design; making the awkwardness of staying and navigating a new place seamless. The Somos Bold was incredible! The staff was so friendly (and spoke great English) - especially Marian at the front desk and Samuel at the rooftop bar! The location is close to everything I wanted, but still on a quiet, safe street. The rooms are so cute and stylish. The lounge in the lobby and the rooftop restaurant/bar always feel like a party, but I couldn’t hear a thing in my room.

This whole hotel had incredible design and architecture. It is worth visiting for just the photos. You must look at the washroom too! I attended new years eve only, on the rooftop bar. It was perfect, but the lack of five stars was because their set menu wasn't my favorite and they didn't have any vodka despite us seeing many others having ordered it. Maybe you can't get more for NYE though.

Great location, nice neighbourhoud, beautifull and clean room en excellent staff at the reception! Yesenia and Nicolas made sure we feld right at home and made us feel we could ask for anything we need en provide for it. Also the rooftop restaurant for breakfast is super nice with a 360 view over the city. Definitly recomended.||Dick, Claudia en kids from Curacao/The Netherlands
