On the Grid : Sopa

"Just a stones-throw away from our offices, on the Carrer Roc Boronat, you’ll find Sopa. What we love about this place is how bright and airy it is thanks to its enormous windows and decoration. But the best thing has to be the amazing vegan and vegetarian meals it has on its varied menu that will cater to just about any taste (even non-vegetarians). Oh, and if you like Yoga they do that too!" - Little Buddha

Since eating at La Sopa Boba on a Monday night in mid-March, we've now had papas bravas in 3 Spanish cities at multiple restaurants. These are the best. The crisp potato edges, the tangy sauce, all top notch. The drinks were really good too, I had a limoncello spritz and my husband a special margarita (new flavor). Then we added coconut milk pork gyoza to finish off our tapas experience. If we'd had more days in Barcelona, I would've absolutely come back here and I recommended it to fellow travelers we've met on tours.

This is a gem of a place. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour and beautifully prepared. The staff was very attentive and thoughtful. Before serving anything, they asked about allergies and brought in gluten free bread for me. Solid 10/10.

The food here is unbelievable. The salmon tataki with miso and orange was so unbelievably delicious. Beef and octopus are also very good. Hazelnut espresso martini was tasty! Service was excellent. This place truly deserves a visit.

Tasty fusion food. Love the egg plant with pineapple and soy sauce. The sea bass cervichy was refreshing and the duck with curry was perfect.

Think this place deserves a five stars. First night in Barcelona found this place and wow. Blown away. Each dish was uniquely made and had its own Asian influence on it. Wow just great. Barcelona is pretty cool. It’s like a more hip and young city than Madrid and more fun. Though I am a Real Madrid fan, don’t tell anyone in Barcelona, I do really like Barcelona and could see myself living in this city. Seems more fun someone let me know if this is a good take and should I actually live here. The food was great. Every tapa was a new experience because they had your typical tapas but put a spin on them. Like the potatas bravas had a unique sauce and the endalada was unlike anything I’ve had. Super unique experience, recommend anyone who wants a new experience and is sick of the typical tapas. My Beli gave it a 8.9 but I give it around 8.8 to 8.9 so basically the same. My Beli is betting pretty good at rating these things. Pretty accurate. Definitely recommend this place, really amazing.

This was hands down the best restaurant I ate at during my five day visit to Barcelona. In fact, my first meal here was so amazing that I came back on my final night in the city. The food is exquisitely prepared and presented, and full of unique, rich flavors. The service was friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere cozy and relaxed. Highly recommended!

My first time yesterday, this place has been on my list for a while. 5 starts for food, atmosphere and service. You should try the burrata and tagliata. Bravas were really good but unfortunately a little bit cold, cannot tell if it was just us waiting to long to eat them 🥲. As an area of improvement I suggest experimenting with different bread, I found it to be a bit boring, which is a bit sad because everything was AMAZING!

Food are excellent, the only restaurant I went twice in my Barcelona trip. Maria's service is excellent, nice and professional. Well understanding of the food ingredients. Beside of those traditional Tapa restaurants....Sopa is Must try!
