The Soul Antwerp

My partner and I loved this place! We had a nice studio on the first floor. The studio was spacious, clean and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with a drink. The staff was very nice as well and made us feel welcome upon arrival. There's also plenty of bars and restaurants in the vibrant neighborhood. The value is unmatched and we look forward to returning!

Very bad value for money. Ripped sheets, noisy, doors don’t properly close, curtains don’t properly close, furniture is outdated and some items needs replacement. The neighborhood is great but do yourself a favor and choose another place to stay.

Highly recommend their chai lattes. Egg on the croque madame was cooked perfectly. Also stayed in their apartments and it had a really beautiful view of the monument in the middle as well as a great location in the city. You are able to hear noise from the stairwell and streets but it was not overly loud. Room is really cute but a little rundown (curtain rod needs fixing and the bathroom heater was a little wonky) Overall had a lovely stay :)

My wife and I stayed at The Soul in July 2022. The location is very convenient, but extremely noisy until early morning hours. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the coffee was great. However, how this place got classified as a four-star accommodation is beyond me. Being environmentally conscious and using reclaimed furniture is one thing, even "hipster", but furnishing the rooms with a seemingly random collection of worn out and broken items is just cheap in the worst possible way. The kitchenette was taped over with a "zerbrechlich" ("fragile" in German) warning tape. That was probably meant to warn the guests about the state of the kitchen cupboards, and not as a joke. The air conditioning did not do anything to lower the room temperature on a hot summer day. It was just making noise and blowing dust. The studio did not seem very clean. The curtains had visible stains on them, and the balcony and chairs on it looked as if they have not been cleaned and used for years. Come for the coffee, but avoid the apartments. V., Austria

On the plus side: Location location location: absolutely perfect. Light and big room, good bathroom, sofa and large table at the window. Kitchenette with coffee and tea facilities. Really nice staff and fantastic breakfast options. On the bad side:· It was unusually hot for the time of the year, so it was a big problem that the AC wasn't working. We could not sleep because we couldn't leave the windows open due to the activity outside. Please fix the AC, it was the only real bother.

Stayed at both the hotel and ate breakfast at the café. The croque madame was delicious and i can highly recommend the Chai Latte. It is a little pricy but so is everything at Marnixplaats. The staff was very nice and helpful too. As for the hotel, it is cozy and the view is beautiful. It could be taken care of better and cleaned better as there was a lot of dust on the lights, some sort of black smears on the curtains, and a broken curtain rod. Other than that the location is great (approx 15 minute walk from the center and lots of beautiful sights all around), and i think the price is adequate.

It's in walking distance to the Antwerp shopping center and there are plenty of restaurants close by that serve good food. The studios themselfs left a lot to be desired. A lot of items in the room were broken, it was very poorly cleaned and the walls on some parts of the room were ready to crumble. The hot water in the shower runs out, the building is not fire safe and I also wouldn't want to use the outlets in the bathroom for fear of getting electrocuted. The great number of bugs splattered against the walls should have been a sign to us as the room had a clear bug problem (mostly mosquitos) that kept waking us during the night. When we booked this "hotel" online it also didn't say anywhere that there is no elevator. Have fun walking up the tiny stairs when you've been drinking. The asking price for the room was not worth what I got for it. My recommendation is to avoid this hotel if you expect any quality for your money. The food is good though would recommend them for that and the personal that we talked to was friendly. Just don't sleep there.

Lovely studios in a great location. Bob was very welcoming and friendly and helpful. They're in a gorgeous building and are lovely rooms. The rooms could do with a little updating but nothing major. The location is perfect. Would definitely stay again.
