Google
The best vegetarian restaurant in Hobart. Amazing quality, chef super accommodating to dietary restrictions and very friendly. Nice big quantities and very cheap.

Orders wada and sambar, received them premixed in the box. Very poor way of serving. Lost the taste of wada. When I called the shop, owner says this is how it's served in Hobart but may not be in India. This is supposed to be an Indian restaurant. Owners trying to cut corners and save money on packing. Just lost 35 dollars and ended up with wet and soaked wada broken into pieces. Worst wada ever Good for people who has not eaten them before

Clean and decent place. Good if your looking for vegeterain or vegan options. I've been going for 3 days now in a row and I still can't get enough of it. Portions are fine for the price. They have soups everyday. If you are really sick and have the urge of eating home food, then this is your place.

Lovely authentic Indian veg cuisine, but be aware of the serving size differentiation when ordering dinner... The Mango Lassi with Ginger & Mint is a real treat!

The owner was very patient in explaining to us the different options on the menu. I much prefer interacting with the owner in a small shop like this compared to the experience with Indian restaurants in the big smoke.

This place is sensational. Amazing vegetarian foods and soups. They did a banquet for us. Great friendly service and really good prices.

Absolutely amazing food. Not one of those namesake Indian restaurants who call themselves "authentic", but are just bowls of orange gravy with oil dripping out. This one is not just great in taste, but was top notch in its quality and quantity. We were treated by food which was served not for customers but how you'd prepare food for your guests who you value. Aunty is an amazing cook. If my mum made food it would have been this. Leaving Hobart with fond memories and I am so glad I had my last dinner in Hobart here.

Excellent quality food. I was very impressed by how authentic all the different dishes were made, they were fresh and warm and tasted great. Prices to rival pretty much everything here in Hobart. Totally recommended.

Yelp
The fact that I stayed in Tasmania three days and ate here three times is indicative both of the limited options in town the holiday I visited, but also the fact that they were exactly what I hoped for. And being open around holidays is a virtue in its own right. They offer some Indian street foods and some (not especially Indian) soups. I found their channa batura a nice meal, their fries a delicious indulgence, and their lentil soup satisfying. Their location is interesting; a little shop next to the barracks in a residential area. Their prices are not bad at all. The diversity of their menu allows both the Indian food aficionado and someone who just wants soup to eat together. The food was probably four-star good, but when you consider the overall value, convenience, and family-owned vibe, I was quite happy with the place and would easily recommend it to anyone visiting Tasmania.

Yelp
Nice little place for a warm bowl of indian style soup and some rice or bread. Potato leek soup was mellow and good. Bhel puri was interesting and herby. The sarson da sang was gingery and good. Several items were on the slightly spicy side so consider having items "mild" unless you prefer spicier food.

Yelp
surprisingly good and decently priced indian food. i had the chana bhatura which was served with two deliciously awesome cheese breads and washed it down with a mango-mint-ginger lassi. food took a while to be ready but then again most things worth waiting for take time when made from scratch.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were delighted to find this place during our stay in Hobart! On a cold and wintry Tasmanian night, Soup Stop's excellent soup hit the spot! It's nice to see a place where the owner so obviously cares about your experience. He was full of recommendations and very accommodating when we asked for a vegan alternative to naan (he suggested a roti-like bread). If you are into spicy foods, I recommend you get your dish spicer than you would in the States...I suspect that the Australian palate is a tad more sensitive to spices than the American palate!

Yelp
Excellent Indian food and so far on my top ten. It's more apt for take away but eating in works well too. It's casual and well priced - overall an excellent place to dine.
