Rooms are decent but very over prcies as the hot water runs out after about 1 minute, seen this was reported about 2-3 months ago don't think they are worried about the maintenance here. Can't seem to get any of the free channels on the TV only ABC and SBS and a few foxtel channels which aren't worth watching.. The public bar was closed for the duration of our stay which was 2 nights during the week.

Stayed for just two nights in this lovely town. The hotel was extremely good value for money. Centrally located, a good swimming pool and a friendly and helpful welcome on arrival.||We didn’t eat at the hotel but looked at the menu which had a good variety on offer.

Dropped in for dinner on a Sunday, timed it well because they offered a great value Sunday roast. The roast was great and the serving size was huge, would certainly recommend. The views from the balcony were also pretty good.

This is such an amazing Hotel. I will be forever grateful to an honest cleaner and to Greta for sending my wallet to me via the Highlander Express to Cairns when I accidentally left it in my room. We had stayed in Cooktown for three nights at this Resort Hotel. 4 hours after leaving Cooktown in Mareeba at lunch I discovered my wallet was not in my handbag. Panic! I rang the resort telling them we would have to drive back to get my wallet which had been found by the cleaner.. Greta, in a happy voice said, "No you won't have to do that I will put it on the afternoon flight to Cairns for you." It happened that we were travelling to Cairns for the night. At no cost too! How wonderful! We made our way to Cairns via Kuranda and arrived half an hour before the aircraft and at the pick up hanger I was greeted with a cheerful person who knew my wallet was coming on the plane. Sure enough at 3.25 pm the pilot came and handed me my wallet full of cards and cash inside a large envelope. These folk are honest and worthy of much praise!! Thank you so much Greta, again.

Felt that the entry was a little expensive for the experience especially for pension card holders at $20. Thought I saw on a site it was on $15. You could participate in a guided experience or self guide. The cabinets needed a clean which impeded photographs. Information was good.

Ate at the upstairs restaurant for nostalgic reasons. Nice view of the historic town and the bay. Had oysters and prawns which were fresh and prepared well. Chips could have been better (why not double fried?). Service friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Room was clean, looked nice, no chairs or couch in room, where there is room relatively small TV, most annoying part were the wooden blinds onto the balcony did not close properly and one of the blades were missing. I won't be happy if they charge full price in the morning
They have free wifi, however the code had to be obtained from reception, to late when they're closed
