The Spa at Estancia La Jolla

My massage today was just ok. It was prenatal and definitely overly conservative because of that. I didn’t feel like my therapist knew the very specific areas you’re supposed to go lighter on and instead avoided entire body parts. My tired, aching legs and feet only got brief, light touch, even after I asked for more pressure and he said he didn’t feel comfortable. I also added on a scalp massage. I, personally, don’t think this should have been done during my allotted 50 minutes for the body massage. They bill for the two treatments separately, they should be given separate time frames. Instead, I had what felt like 2-3 minutes dedicated to each leg and arm and, truly, 15 seconds for each hand and foot. At the start of the massage I was asked if any areas needed more attention than others and I said nope—equal attention to everything would be great. Definitely a little disappointed since a massage is such a treat while pregnant.

I've been to this spa many times and I love it. The grounds are gorgeous - the outdoor areas have bamboo, eucalyptus - you're surrounded by plants which makes for a very zen and natural atmosphere. The myomassologists have all been incredible, and although there are not many common areas for men and women (typical of most spas I've seen) you can relax with them outside in the common area or at the pool. It's la Jolla, so 95% of the year being outside is beautiful weather anyway. The sauna and Jacuzzi are lovely and all of the attendants have been wonderful. FYI, as of 2024 I had a bit of trouble with the website, so you may want to call for your appointment. You can valet, or drive into the paid lot (excellent signage on premises) - all parking has been validated including valet in my experience but always good to double check.

Amazing staff and facial experience. Everyone is so nice. Facility is outdated, unkept, and mold in shower and steam room. Also, they don’t disclose you get a San Diego resident discount!

There was a lot of construction going on and the pool was closed. They made up for it with steam room and jacuzzi access in the spa area. I really like their location, walk to Blacks beach and the glider port…. And the grounds are spectacular. Thanks for a lovely NYE staycation! 🎊

After hours of San Diego spa research, I'm so glad I found this place! It's the perfect choice for a full day like I did, or even just a massage and hour in the jacuzzi and sauna. I got the 50min Free Flowing Massage, and man do I recommend Janelle! What a pro! best massage I've ever had. Between that and the free access to the pristine, well stocked locker room, showers, and peaceful relaxation room and jacuzzi patio, it was well worth the steeper massage price. Oh and the bathrobes are soft and cozy. Treat yourself and you'll feel like a queen for the day.

While I didn't personally spend time at this spa, I sent my wife and two adult daughters to have a spa day here. Natalie from the Spa helped me set this up was extremely helpful and professional. All three of them came back very relaxed and very very much enjoyed their time at this spa. They mentioned the entire staff was professional and very service orientated. My wife enjoyed it so much, she would like for the two of us to spend some time there next. Thanks you Natalie and staff for giving my girls a great experience that they all needed.

Do not waste your money here. We visited from out of town, here for our anniversary. Thought we'd have a romantic couples massage. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. If this wasn't enough disappointment, we continued our punishment at the onsite restaurant and received the same subpar service. We paid just at $1000 for a couple's massage. The package sounds great on their website. Unfortunately, the true delivery is lackluster at best. We arrived an hour early to take part in the relaxation room and other amenities. Host was pleasant and welcomed us. Sent us to our locker rooms where we found no attendant. We basically navigated the place on our own. The Men's area was out of slippers, thankfully i brought my own. Normally, when we've paid this much for similar service, you receive an elevated level of service - specifically a tour of the amenities. Regardless, we continued on. The hot tub and steam room were nice, not crowded, but also not being kept up after service - towels in steam room, water glasses on tables, etc.. you could just tell they were short staff or something. We met in the relaxation room. The area has rows of chairs to relax on, hot water for tea, and cold ice water available. There is also a small seating area outside by the fireplace. We tried both areas. Inside trying to relax on the chairs - apparently the staff must transition through this room constantly, it was non stop people coming and going. Granted not one asked how everything was going and did we need anything. Needless to say this area is not very relaxing with all the distractions. Our couples massage was held out back in a separate area. The package advertises a whirlpool tub for use, champagne and chocolates, which sounds great. The whirlpool tub is covered and was clear it hadn't been used in a while. We had to remind the staff of the champagne and chocolates, which they did go get and serve to us after the fact. This was absolutely the most disappointing services we have ever experienced. The owners of this facility should hire an outside source (if you don't believe reviews) and visit the property. Such an amazing grounds, polite staff, they just need to refine the services offered.

Love this spa, has to be my favorite in San Diego! The waiting room has been recently renovated and it is so very relaxing and soothing. Best part was the new heated lounge chairs inside, they added so much to the spa experience. The fennel tea was such a nice touch along with the infused water. Prior to my facial I indulged in the eucalyptus steam room, since I had been there last they have added a salt scrub to use in the steam room, made my skin feel amazing. I had a facial with Kali, the Estancia Signature Facial, which was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. My skin was glowing, not only that day but I could still feel the difference a week later. Highly recommend Kali if you ever need any type of a facial. We spent a good amount of time in the outdoor area, private jacuzzi along with an outside lounging area that includes an inviting fireplace. So calming to sit there and enjoy our champagne after our facials. Perfect experience and service at Estancia Spa,

Decided to try this place out for my husband's birthday. It was a little tricky finding this place, but the hotel concierge was very helpful and provided us a map, so thankfully we weren't too late for our appointment. Please note that valet/self parking is complimentary! Hold onto your stub and provide at checkout and they will comp you. Aside from our massages, we only took advantage of the locker rooms and their amenities, so my review will be based on that. We each opted for a 80-min Free Flowing Massage and requested female masseuses. My masseuse, Sherry, was great! She focuses on neck, shoulder, and back which are always my target areas, but also does full body with scalp massage; exactly everything I look for in my massages. Her pressure was great and I felt her really working out all my knots. The room was clean, the music was calming, and the table was comfortable. As an FYI, they use CBD products which was perfect for me, but something to consider if it's not for you, however I'm sure they can substitute if CBD isn't for you. My husband stated he also enjoyed his massage. The locker rooms compromised of a restroom/changing rooms, lockers, eucalyptus steam room, showers, and a saltwater whirlpool. After my massage, I sat in the eucalyptus steam room for a bit before dipping my feet in the saltwater whirlpool; both were nice and relaxing. I rinsed off in the shower which were equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The lockers have a small area to get dressed with a vanity that had some toiletries, if needed. Everything was clean and it was fairly empty, which made the experience more luxurious. Overall, both my husband and I enjoyed this place and wouldn't mind coming back.

No I don't recommend it- first expensive to even get into the parking area- not sure if they validate and then the squawking from children and adults at the pool is terrible, awful! Every service is at least $300-$400 and seriously who has this kind of money?

Great service at this spa. Felt kind of small for the price you pay to enjoy their amenities. Massage was good, nothing special. Facial felt the same. Came her with my mother in law and we both enjoyed it, but not the best spa experience I've had

Dirty, expensive, and with bad service. Arriving and checking in: lackluster arrival. Hard to find the spa and I had to wait at a gated call box for over 10 minutes. No one answered my calls via telephone or call box to be let in. Facilities: This is probably the worst part of the experience. 1. Walking to the spa: the only pool you have access to is the hotel family pool where kids are screaming and cannonballing 2. Locker rooms: I came for a romantic couples massage with my partner. We did not get to spend any time "enjoying the facilities" as you would at a normal spa because the "facilities" aka a small jacuzzi and steam room are behind the single gendered locker rooms and NOT coed. Why would we come to enjoy an experience together and do everything separate? The contradictory part about keeping men and women so separated, is that the staff did not respect this themselves. My partner reported to me that the entire time he was trying to change into his swimsuit in the men's locker room, women were coming in and out carrying dirty laundry or the female front desk attendant was showing other men to their lockers. We are not prudish people, but we found this strange and had the situation been reversed and male desk attendants and service people been walking through the women's locker room while they were naked trying to change, I'm sure more people would be speaking up. 3. The locker rooms and relaxation areas were DIRTY ,super dirty, you could see grime on every surface. To boot, they were very old. 4. The relaxation room was packed, had no relaxing music, and no snacks or beverages. They had a 20 year old electric tea kettle, encrusted with limescale and that's it. The Massage: we had two male massage therapists. They led us to a white pitched tent outside (cold). The tent was no frills. No music, no dim lighting (it was bright as day). The massage therapist asked me special areas I wanted to have addressed. The whole reason I get a massage is to have my lower back worked out and I told him that. I was in complete shock when he told me the massage was over without ever touching my back. I paid for a 50 minute massage. The two massage therapists came out 10 minutes after my set massage time. After getting to the room and going over their spiel, it was at least 15 minutes into the massage. Then, they finished five minutes earlier than the set end time. In total, the whole massage was no more than 35 minutes. This is completely ridiculous when I'm paying over $600 for a 50 minute massage. The best part of the massage was when the screaming kids in the pool and the guys grunting SO loudly playing tennis became so loud that one of the massage attendants began playing "zen music" from his phone. Let me be clear, people should be having fun in the pool and playing tennis. The part that I find ridiculous is that the spa put makeshift tents right next to these areas and made no efforts to muffle the noise, which was not relaxing at all. I would not recommend this place to a friend. Not even an enemy! Overall value: overall value was low. I have had INCREDIBLE massages in beautiful places all across San Diego for the price I paid at the Spa Estancia. I basically laughed when they added 21% gratuity for "use of spa facilities".

A hidden jewel in La Jolla area. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the walk to the spa. It's quite a maze to get there but a scenic one. Super friendly and was greeted immediately upon entering the spa. I was a little late because the pool key that was given to me was not working but I was able to track someone down to help me in. I was given a tour of the place and felt welcomed. My massage was perfect. I opted for the sports massage which included option of LED light treatment. I didn't feel rushed and felt so relaxed. The sauna was a good size and the temperature was hot just the way I like it. Women's locker area was spacious and the lobby was comfy. I wish I could have had more time to enjoy the amenities but my appointment was later in the day. Would definitely pay a visit here again. TY Spa Estancia!

Just came here with three friends for a girl's spa day on my recommendation. Sadly, the last time I was here was in 2017 and this spa is not the same! It's still beautiful to look at, but service has slipped in a big way. A 50-min massage service is going to cost you more than $200! Paying for premium spa services also comes with amenities, but Estancia is lacking this time around. First, their steam room was "Out of Order." UGH! It was the one amenity we were looking forward to on this rainy day! It would have been nice if they did something nice for their guests to make up for this huge inconvenience. Steam rooms are a must for a spa day and relaxing. Second, the fresh fruit that's normally stocked was sparse (2 pieces of fruit to be exact.) The hostess was also unimpressive. She seemed bored to be there and working. This definitely added to our underwhelming visit to Estancia. The one good thing was my massage. The therapist did a great job working out the kinks in my back, and that's what made this review a 3-star instead of 2. I would not return and I'm very sad about that because La Jolla is one of my favorite spots in the world!

These stars are a testament to miss Deja! I have had a handful or prenatal massages and she was wonderful. Very cheerful and she asked all the right questions at the beginning because she wanted to be as quite as possible during the treatment. Her touch was very healing. I left the massage feeling calm yet energized. The grounds here are still amazing and service overall is good. Getting into the spa entrance can be tricky so it might be best to valet and head to the front desk but just know to account for the time it takes to walk about 5 minutes to the spa.

There was a positive component to my spa experience and that was my facial. My technician was great, knowledgeable and very personable. She looked for a bolster for my legs and when she couldn't find one she rolled towels. Although that took time away from treatment. Service was only 45 min. Estancia Spa is very run down. Photos attached of the filthy jacuzzi (sand and dirt in the bottom), mildew in the shower grout, leaves and cobwebs on the relaxation patio and the cushions are stained and filthy. Not a place that I felt relaxed. They didn't bother to ask your shoe size to fit you for the sandals. We were a party of 5 and we had to open locker doors to find a locker with the right size slippers. My locker didn't work and after putting in all my belongings I had to move them. The changing area is a small common space with a light curtain. At one point there were 8 people (strangers) bumping rear ends trying to change. The amenities were weak. No hot water for tea, No Q-tips or cotton swabs. One of only two showers were out of service. We were a party of five and I would not recommend this spa. Very disappointing!!

Several friends and myself have been coming to the spa since our children were in elementary school, now all college grads. We would book massages, have lunch and hangout poolside, it was something we looked forward to a couple times a year. This was our first visit since Covid. I called to book my appointment a couple weeks in advance, answering machine said all calls would be returned within 24 hours, so I left a message, 3 days later no call back. It took 2 more calls to finally get someone on the phone, by then there were no massages available so I booked a body treatment. We all arrived at the spa, had lunch, went to shower before our treatments and there were no towels or bath mats. We asked front desk. Showers were not clean, hair on the floor and walls, mold at the bottom of the shower door and the fixtures in the shower had rusted. Our treatments were good. Once again no towels for the showers. The vents were filthy, the curtain going into the locker room was also filthy. At this point we decided getting into the hot tub was not something we would be comfortable with. This spa has SO much potential and doesn't need much more than a professional cleaning and replacing some of the worn out items. I'm not sure if it is a lack of funds or a management issue but for an 'upscale spa' in La Jolla charging a couple hundred dollars for each of our treatments we expected more. We would be more than willing to give it another chance if these issues were addressed.

My husband and I came here several weeks ago to celebrate his birthday. We had booked two massages and were pleasantly surprised. SERVICE - From the moment we stepped foot on the property, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. All of the staff we spoke with were really sweet and kind. MASSAGES - I always have a hard time finding a good massage therapist that gives enough pressure and understands how the body functions. A lot of the time, it is not enough pressure. A few times, it is a lot of pressure but they do not know how to maneuver to make me relax. When I came here, I had F. He read my notes and reiterated my requests. I mentioned the pressure and he chuckled and said "I don't think that will be a problem". Initially, I thought he was pretty confident but he was incredible! He gave the perfect amount of pressure and actually worked on my trouble areas! Most massage places go through a routine. He did not. He focused on my areas I asked and was able to actually loosen up my knots. My husband had E and as a physical therapist, he is also particular with massages. He said E was very good! Needless to say, we were both happy with our services here. AMENITIES - The changing areas were nice. We liked that there were a soaking tubs and saunas on each side. The shower water was lukewarm though. At least for the one I went in. It was difficult to take a nice hot shower as I was more cold than warm. The pool area was rather small and the water was freezing. The food at the pool was subpar and overpriced. Overall, we really enjoyed the staff and the massages here. Would highly recommend F and E to perform the services!

We booked a private couples bungalow massage to celebrate our anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful even despite the covid situation. We had a private jacuzzi with complimentary champagne to start and then we did the 50 min massage! The music was really relaxing and they did a good job of dampening the street noise. We had Ed and Lori who took great care of us. Yes you have to wear masks during the massage but its honestly not that bad cause you're just in a state of relaxation. I've had various massages in SD ranging from cheaper ones you get a strip malls to fancy ones at resorts and this is by far my favorite. I honestly wished it lasted longer, I was so zen. Pro tip: You can get your parking validated which I didn't know so we parked on the street. Also come early and use bathroom before you arrive so you can take advantage of every minute in the jacuzzi.

I booked a couples massage at the spa during Covid restrictions. Arrived early and the door was still locked, but it's located next to the pool so there's plenty of seating. I believe I was the first client of the day, because the locker room was empty. Most of the facilities were closed due to Covid, but still had use of a locker and shower. The couple's massage was held in an outdoor tent. The massage was fantastic (especially given the length of time I've gone getting a massage). But, a couple of snafus. Shower shampoo and conditioners needed to be refilled. No other toiletries available. My partner got locked out when he went to look at the jacuzzi (which was shut down). He had to walk around the front to get back in and when he warned the front that they should put up a sign telling people, they shrugged. No matter, massage was perfect.

Took my mom here for her birthday and we both had an incredible day. The setting is so beautiful and with a facial you get access to the pool, gym and gardens. The spa itself is a classic elegant but not stuffy day spa with sex separated steam room and jacuzzi (clothing optional). It's very attractive and well laid out. The staff was beyond attentive and lovely - thank you for each of you. We got hydrafacials that took a few years off our faces. We lounged by the pool and had delicious fish tacos and champagne. We look forward to returning again soon. I saw some reviews that said the spa was not clean and were less than flattering of the staff. All I can say is the staff was unbelievable. My mother is a super senior with mobility and height issues. The love and attention they gave her was so touching and endearing. Also, they spa is not new and shows a little age - but it was absolutely clean and completely lovely. Parking is easy if you just go to the hotel lobby, they give you a parking pass to get into the Spa - and the spa validates the parking. Easy Breeze. What a great place. Thank you Estancia!

Bad customer service! After clearing my calendar, excitedly awaiting my spa day and spending time to pick the perfect service, I was left a voicemail saying the spa had to cancel my appointment because the spa would be closed in December due to low bookings. It took several tries to finally reach someone to discuss the inconvenience and to reschedule. They cared very little about me clearing my busy calendar and just thought it was no big deal to reschedule. Zero care and poor customer service and concern. They turned my relaxing spa day into a bummer. This may be the reason you have low bookings in the month of December! Also, I went back and read other reviews and someone else also had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with juliette! She was the same cavalier, flippant and dismissive person who "helped" me.

Amazing!!! I'm a San Diego local and treated myself to a 50 minute massage and what a treat it was! The property is so beautiful, entire staff at the spa are so attentive and my service was outstanding. I arrived early to enjoy some hot tea by the pool, so peaceful and relaxing in my cozy spa robe. Also sat outside by the fire after a quick stop in the steam room. If you are a local or visiting from out of town, I highly recommend this spa.

Absolutely beautiful location on a perfectly situated property. If you're looking for an afternoon or moment you won't forget, book some time here. You have access to the entire spa including the sauna, fitness center, pool, and salt water jacuzzi.

If spending nearly $500 to get a 50 minute couples' massage in a cute bungalow, followed by a glass of champagne in a plastic cup and a chocolate, doesn't seem like a huge waste of money, then this place is for you. Sure, you have access to a steam room and jacuzzi, and the coed relaxation area has some comfortable lounge chairs and a fine selection of teas...but you can find this stuff elsewhere in San Diego - with much better views (there are none here) - for half the price. Basically, this is a spa for the ultra wealthy who are staying at Estancia Hotel near UCSD and couldn't care less how much it costs. On the plus side the staff are very nice and professional (hopefully they're compensated well but I have doubts), the massages were good and the place is clean. But the real kicker is the mandatory 21% gratuity fee added to your bill "for your convenience." Wait, whose convenience?! Listen, we're not cheapskates and we get massages all of the time. But unless getting a decent massage at the most expensive place in town is your thing, consider other options.

Felt so pampered! My son and future daughter in law got me a spa day here. It was fabulous! Fantastic massage, wonderful facial. Their relaxation area is so quiet and beautiful. They have a sauna, jacuzzi, showers, access to the regular pool, inside and outside seating areas. Staff was very welcoming and professional also. Highly recommend this spa.

I love it here. For our anniversary, my husband and I did the couples experience and it was wonderful- private bath and massage outside in your own bungalow. I recently had family In town so I took them and I got the revitalizing journey with Francisco and it was possibly the best massage I have ever gotten. After your services you can hang in the private relaxation area or head to the pool! They don't really answer the phone so make sure to book online. ‍‍

I went back to this cute spa and I am so glad I did. My facial service was delicious (I wish I could remember my gal's name!). I also had a massage and Molly was so good! Very professional and thorough and I feel so relaxed and refreshed! I also want to thank Lisa at the front desk for going above and beyond to make me feel welcome and help me enjoy my special day. Every employee I interacted with today was friendly and warm and made the experience awesome! This local spa is worth it and I can't wait to come back!

Worth every penny. Did a couples spa day with facials and ended in a private tub soak and 90 minute massages. The grounds are beautiful and we were able to use the hot tubs after. I cannot wait to come back again!

Spent $600 for a 50 minute massage and piece of chocolate candy for me and one for my daughter. Oh, and a mimosa in a plastic champagne glass. Massage was good but $500 plus 21% service charge? First I was told gratuity was included and then I was told it was not. I don't think I am coming back for sure.

Place is a joke. Walked in and the girls at the counter are too busy talking and playing with their make-up. I was staying at the hotel and couldn't even make an appointment.

Spa Pass review only Spa pass is offered at Estancia hotel on first come first served basis. You can't reserve it in advance. The cost is $65 which gives you an access to the spa facilities such as use of the locker room, steam room, jacuzzi and the relaxation area. I didn't get any treatments here so i can't speak about the service. The reason for just 3 stars is that the spa itself is small, there is no adult only pool for the spa guests. Very small outdoor jacuzzi (in the spa area), however there is a large one by the pool if you wish to use that one, however the main jacuzzi was full of kids and half of the jets didn't work. I enjoy to treat myself to the day at the spa and try different resorts around our beautiful city, this spa just missed the mark for me. Overall the resorts itself is gorgeous. The parking is complimentary if you use the spa or visit the restaurant.

I went to the spa at estancia today for a 50 minute free-flowing massage! And I absolutely needed to leave a yelp review!!!!! My experience was a 10 out of 10 the spa was absolutely stunning and the perfect place to relax. Molly did my massage she was very attentive and asked me a bunch of questions to make sure I was super comfortable. Best massage I've ever had in my life. The front desk team Bre and Lisa were so welcoming and kind they really made my experience incredible. I also got the pleasure of using the eucalyptus steam room and the heated saltwater whirlpool tub The amenities that they offer made the experience top notch! This experience was so healing and very much needed for me and I appreciate the spa team and what they did for me today so much! If you were thinking about going here please just book an appointment and do it you will not regret it!!!!!

Honestly one of the BEST MASSAGES I've ever had in my (very spa-loving) life! Sherry was my therapist, and she said she's worked there since 2010 or so?...anyway, it's very obvious she has lots of experience - her pressure, touch, and ability to make my muscle tension disappear...just WOW!!! The spa itself, run by the nicest woman Brisa, is immaculate, serene, and beautiful. I think serenity is the key word for Estancia across the board - surrounded by rose gardens with the pool right outside. Even during Covid times when the facility isn't fully open, it's still a SECRET SPOT IN SAN DIEGO that more people/locals need to check out! I receive a massage last week which was amazing! The whole hotel and spa is gorgeous. My husband booked us a room which came with $100 towards a spa treatment. When booking my massage I mentioned that I had a credit towards that came with our room. We ended up being charged with full amount and I am now waiting for the adjustment to be refunded. I appreciate it's not a big deal but when you're spending that kind of money you shouldn't have to double check and chase up any errors.

I love a good spa and this is now at the top of my list. The staff is amazing, Janelle is phenomenal! My daughter and I came for her birthday. It was her first spa/massage experience and now she's spoiled. Alma did her massage and she was also phenomenal. I don't think you can go wrong with anyone at this spa. You must plan to stay for a few hours and take advantage of the facilities. I couldn't be happier.

This was my first visit to a spa! I enjoyed a revitilizing massage. Deja was excellent and assured I was comfortable. The Spa itself is lovely and I took advantage of both the whirlpool and steam room as well. Highly recommended!

I tried booking my 50th birthday spa day here. I spent about an hour on the phone with Juliet coming up with my dream spa day. She seemed to be having problems booking my appointments while we were on the phone for some reason. So she said she would call me back. I didn't get a call back for 4 days. She left a message saying she hadn't forgotten about me but to call her back to confirm my appointments. I called the following morning and nobody picked up the phone so I left a message to confirm I'm coming in. But I needed to know start times. The next day I called back and left another message. Because I hadn't heard from anyone I called again and again but nobody answers the phone at the spa. My birthday is Saturday and today is Thursday. I started calling at 9 am. I called 5-6 times today and left messages. Finally around 3:15 I called and someone picked up. To my dismay none of my appointments had been booked and the front desk girl didn't even know who I was. I was going to spend 1000$ dollars there on Saturday for my 50th birthday and I was forgotten about. I'm mortified. I've been looking forward to coming in for my special day all week and was forgotten about. The front desk woman said I could book my appointments now but why weren't they booked when I called a week ago? She told me that there has been a very high volume of calls. So apparently everyone else's call was more important than mine. I'm completely beside myself.

This was an amazing experience for my wife and I! Francisco and Ronnie absolutely killed it for our anniversary. They were very responsive to our needs and made it an excellent experience.

I had a massage done by a gentleman named ED and it was fantastic. The facility was clean, staff was friendly and overall experience was great. However, when I booked online it stated that if you book online you get 30% off, there were other deals for specific massages like 40$ off a specific massage but the 30% did not state a particular one. When I checked out online this didnt apply so I made a note on the check out as well as screen shot the information and the gal at check out stated they didnt have anything like that. It was a bit frustrating that they would advertise but not follow through. I attached a photo for reference

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this peaceful spa! My daughter and I started with brunch at the hotel on the patio overlooking the beautiful gardens. Then we checked into the spa early to enjoy the jacuzzi and sauna. The girls at the front desk (Mallory, Lisa, and Bre) were very warm and welcoming! Mallory greeted us with champagne and chocolates (that are made in house). She took us back and showed us around the spa and got us set up with our lockers. She made us feel very special by checking on us throughout the time we were there bringing more champagne, chocolates, and scented cold towels as needed. I had the hot stone massage from Lori. It was amazing! Lori made sure I was comfortable throughout the massage. She checked with me to see what areas I wanted her to work on and the degree of pressure I was comfortable with. Attention to detail was made from the heated table, heated back mat, relaxing music, essential oils, and of course the amazing hot stones. It was perfect! My daughter had her massage with Michelle and said it was also wonderful. Afterwards, we relaxed in the peaceful and comfortable waiting area that looks out to a fireplace and sitting area outside until we headed off to the showers. Thank you ladies of Spa at Estancia for making our day so memorable and relaxing :)

Took my daughter in law for a Birthday facial, the Grand Cru Rose facial... it was 80 minutes long... she LOVED it! She said it was very pampering and refreshing. Rachel spared no expense in going above and beyond to make her feel special and relaxed! I highly recommend the Estancia Spa. Juliet, the spa attendant made us feel right at home the moment we stepped in the door. She set us up in the lounge with a cup of tea to await the appointment time scheduled and waited on us throughout the morning, complimentary sparkling wine and hospitality galore while sharing with us the Hotel's history. She is a true gem to this hotel! We will be back, we'll recommend to all our friends & family. Thank you Estancia for a first rate facial and afternoon!

This is a very special place to celebrate. Not only is the ambience, accommodations, and services are impeccable but I commend this spa for their Openness, inclusivity and special care. The staff at the spa at Estancia went out of their way to make special accommodations to make sure that myself and my lovely maid of honor were treated with the upmost respect and pampering! We had a wonderful time and will be coming back in the future! Michelle, Briza, Julio And Juliette were integral in making our experience unforgettable! By far the best in San Diego! From the warm receptionist all the way to most relaxing massage. Me & my husband enjoyed our experience despite Covid times. We felt like we were in truly great hands from the moment we walked in. Full circle of well defined hospitality. The spa knows exactly how to leave an impression! We look forward to coming back already.

*Warning: This spa is NOT peaceful and definitely NOT relaxing!! Unless you enjoy wall to wall people with nowhere to sit, kids screaming and beach balls flying and extremely understaffed pool service. Despite the fact I was told the Spa was not busy when I made my appointment, it was unacceptably crowded and very noisy. Wouldn't recommend the experience to anyone and definitely won't be going back.

Absolutely fabulous! My massage with Sherry was wonderful and the space was lovely.

My wife and I visited on June 12th, 2019. $690 for a 100 minute couples massage and then the automatic 20% tip brought our massage bill up to $828.00. For what??? Granted, the staff is extremely friendly and our massages were pretty good.... but so is my bi-weekly 90 minute massage which I only pay $120. So, what did I get for the additional $708.00? A salt water hot tub which was so dirty there was no way I was going in; Two showers which were pretty disgusting, let alone the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser wasn't locked in properly so they didn't work; The "eucalyptus steam room" was an old steam room with a spray bottle to spray eucalyptus scent on the walls; Lockers were small - barely fit my clothes and the locker room was not very well supplied with sundries; Comfortable robes; Very minimalistic co-ed waiting room with a few couches to lie and wait with not much to nibble on (pretzels, dried fruit, etc.); The couples bungalow was cute - I'll give them that but the rest of it was pretty tired. My wife had the same opinion on the women's side of the spa. Don't think we'll go back unless they do some major updating and improving. Really unfortunate considering it's so close to our home. We'll more than likely stick with La Costa Spa and Four Seasons Aviara. Massage: 4 stars Facilities: 1.5 stars

Very disappointed, i booked 3 treatments for my mom and her two friends for her 60th bday. Called in advance as well as emailed to make sure they charge my card as it was a gift. They said no problem and then right after they were done with their treatments they were told my mom had to pay for her own birthday gift. So sad and upset about my moms experience

Had the most wonderful experience with the spa and pool area. Rented a cabana and enjoyed the wonderful weather and pampering for a day. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will be back!!
