My wife and I visited the Madonna Inn Spa yesterday for a couples massage. The setting was beautiful and relaxing, and the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. My wife had a phenomenal massage with a female therapist named Kerri—she walked out glowing and couldn’t stop raving about how great she felt. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. I was paired with a male therapist, and to be honest, it was one of the most underwhelming massages I’ve ever had. The technique felt rushed, inconsistent, and completely missed the mark on both pressure and relaxation. While I always try to be understanding, this session made me genuinely question if massage therapy is the right fit for him. Overall, it was a mixed experience—amazing for my wife, disappointing for me. I’d definitely recommend Kerri if you’re booking here, but I hope the spa takes some time to ensure all therapists meet the same level of quality.

Spent the day here, booking both a massage and a facial. The treatments and therapists providing services were excellent. Great products, great technique, good personalities. The spa itself, weird and miserly. The jacuzzi was cold, towels were unavailable for a very long time, the main door from reception opens RIGHT ON THE LOCKERS, and there is no other dry space to change or dress. On arrival, had to call on my cell and quite obviously disturb the “reception” desk woman to open the gate for us. I could go on and on. With such weird and inhospitable features, it’s very impressive that they can retain the high quality estheticians and massage therapists.

We booked the couple's deep tissue massage for a girl's weekend and The Spa did not disappoint! Hannah (front desk) was very sweet and explained everything thoroughly. Jason and Murat were absolutely amazing! Understandable that there are people who aren't comfortable with someone of the opposite sex when it comes to something so intimate, but both of them were incredibly professional and sensitive to our needs. Let me tell you, Jason's hands are made of pure magic and this was BY FAR the best deep tissue I have EVER experienced - don't sleep on male providers if you can appreciate intensity the way I do! We would have preferred chilled champagne over tea at the end of our service (just a thought, considering it was nearly in the 80's outside) like other places offer. There are only 2 actual downsides to this place - you have to walk through the entire pool area to get to it, which is a bit awkward and slippery, and our appointments were stacked with a few others so the locker room was crammed and we were all on top of each other trying to get in/out of our lockers. Highly recommend The Spa, Jason and Murat. Thank you for a great experience!

Just had the MOST amazing prenatal massage at Madonna Inn Spa. Dominic was incredible! He really listened to me when I explained my pain points, was very professional, and gave great attention to the areas causing me distress. Would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a focused, tension-relieving, and thorough massage!

An extraordinary experience all around! The facility is beautiful, from the change room/bathroom area, the treatment rooms, and the outdoor pool patio space. Before your treatment, you get a robe & sandals to change into and then relax in a "waiting lounge" with pretty vintage furniture, calming music, and drinks/snacks. When you book your appointment, they ask for your robe & shoe sizes, and then they are waiting for you in your locker! It's a lovely touch. And the robe sizes go up to a 4X. My husband and I had a couples massage, and they were amazing - we both ended up falling asleep during the treatment because we were so relaxed. After our massages, we were taken to a sitting room with some fresh cookies and tea for some extra pampering. And then we had access to the outdoor terrace with the pool, hot tub, loungers, and bar. We ordered some yummy drinks and sandwiches for lunch and then lounged & swam the afternoon away. We were allowed to keep our lockers until the spa closed (at 5 p.m.). It was great to be able to keep our stuff safely inside. And then afterward, we were able to shower with the amazing body scrub sample they gave us - just wonderful. We can't wait to go back.

We went for a girls spa day and each got facials and massages. All of us really enjoyed our services and were really impressed. The products used were high quality. We got tea and cookies after each treatment which made us feel extra pampered. The jacuzzi was toasty and the pool heated. We also had a bite to eat at the cafe and the veggie sandwich was just perfect. All the little touches provided were so nice abs we left feeling great. We will definitely be back!!

If you want to feel like Queen for a Day, schedule a massage here! When you arrive, a receptionist shows you to the ladies lounge, where a locker has been set aside with your name, some sample scrub, a fluffy robe, and a pair of slippers in your exact size. After you change into your robe, you sit in a lovely waiting room with cushy rockers and nibble on fresh fruit or sip lemon-fresh water from a goblet, while you wait for your massage practitioner. Once in the room and under an immaculate layer on a warm table, he/she enters and immediately switches off the glaring lights and the room becomes illuminated only by a lovely violet inset in the ceiling. After your massage, you're shown to a smaller "renewing" room where you have a cup of hot tea and a couple of cookies. If you brought a suit with you, you might choose to take a swim or a jacuzzi outside the spa, or you can shower (if you like), dress and go out into the world, refreshed.

I had an amazing calming facial with Marisa. She has a great touch. I loved the whole experience and would 100% book again next time I’m in town!

Yelp
This is a nice spa. I got the stone crop body scrub which was really relaxing. It cost me $170 before tip. I did like how you could put the tip separately afterwards using your credit card and it wasn't like some places where they hound you about a tip. The spa is nicely appointed for toiletries for women, plenty of products. The toilets in the locker rooms have fancy bidet seats! They called us ahead of time to find out what size robe and slippers we would need, but then they put the wrong size robe in my locker. I've never had a spa do that, usually they either put standard sized robes in lockers or ask you when you walk in. The robes were pretty nice. This isn't like a big spa complex where they have steam rooms and saunas, but they did have a couple of nice "chill" rooms including the waiting room that had fruit water and snacks (cut up fruit which looked good), and there is an aftercare room that they call the "tea room" where they served tea and cookies. We were staying at the hotel so not sure if you came here for a day spa experience, how it would be. I assume you could use the pool which is right nearby. The pool area is pretty nice, and they have two hot tubs. There were a lot of families though, which might be a minus if you are looking for an adult experience. I did feel like the check-in is kind of an upsell gift shop with $100 bathing suits and trying to sell you overpriced products.

Yelp
What a treat to get a spa service at Madonna Inn, and then be able to use the pool and Jacuzzi and poolside bar before and/or after - so much fun! My massage therapist was good, but had 'busy hands' (that's what we called it when I went to massage school if somebody was just massaging really fast) she was good though but most of the time felt like it was in fast forward motion as far as the tempo, and I just wish that she had done like 10 Long slow strokes, instead of 20 really fast strokes, but whatever.... basically you'll take whatever you can get in these situations, but it's just for those kind of prices you want it to be like blow your mind awesome, You know??? But I loved that you get a robe and flip-flops and a towel. And when you're checking in, it's a cute little retail area, and then the locker room and showers a very clean and beautiful and after your massage, they take you into like a little chill room with mediocre cookies and tea, but still a nice touch, just any of those little extras are fun and just make it a neat experience, and when you are checking in, they give you a little container of body scrub! That is so awesome and a nice touch so you can give yourself a scrub down, so even if you didn't get any kind of body treatment, you can kind of treat yourself after getting your regular spa treatment to a self-applied body scrub! Another nice little touch. And then I went out to the pool. I got a so- so Pina Colada and a disgusting Caesar salad with chicken. The bartender was really awesome by the way though, and the pool and Jacuzzi was clean and beautiful. It was a wonderful experience overall, but the salad, it just totally grossed me out, because I just ate the Leftovers today, and the lettuce had turned completely Brown very quickly ( which is kind of more cut romaine's fault than the madonna inn), But what really grossed me out is the dressing was like Mayonnaise-based! BLECH I used to make homemade Caesar dressing tableside when I waitressed at a rooftop restaurant in downtown Seattle, and I know that Mayonnaise does not belong in a Caesar salad! I tried to like jazz it up here at home Because I have fresh, shaved parmesan, fresh cracked black pepper and Gerard's amazing Caesar dressing, but I knew because of the heavy Mayonnaise based dressing they had put on my Caesar salad that I needed to bring in the big dogs and add a little dollop of Garlic. Dijon mustard and lemon juice to a splash of girards and whisk it up in a bowl and put it on the salad to give it some dimension and lighten it up and give it some tangyness with the mustard and lemon juice. But it was not salvageable because of the disgusting heavy disgusting, bizarre, mayonnaise-based dressing. GROSS. Also, I had looked up the menu the day before and had it narrowed down to the chicken Caesar salad or the BLT add avocado, and I must say, I definitely should've gotten the BLT add avocado. I pictured the chicken on the chicken Caesar salad being grilled or being able to get it blackened as an option, but The bartender/ server that I was ordering it with was like nope. It is just regular chicken, and that is your only option - which was boiled. And it was gross. It had no flavor and the texture was weird, I guess I'm just not a fan of boiled chicken anyway, so there was really no way to make that better, unless I could get it grilled or get some cajun blackening seasoning on there. So clearly I definitely will not be getting a Caesar salad there ever again! But everything else was lovely and I definitely will go back for the pool and the Jacuzzi and some drinks poolside and a spa treatment. Maybe next time I'll get a facial? Overall, I do recommend this experience getting a spa treatment and spending some time poolside and getting a drink or two, and maybe something to eat, but not the chicken caesar!

Yelp
This past weekend I had one of the best massages of my LIFE with Dominic. When I tell you he could pin point every single knot in my body. I was shook. I live in Los Angeles but would gladly drive all the way back to see him. I have had such insane tension that is now gone. The spa itself was so gorgeous. I love how you get cookies and tea after your treatment. Everything is immaculately clean. 12/10

Yelp
Lovely and incredibly relaxing facial at the spa Madonna Inn. They go above and beyond to make the dress room, waiting room, and post treatment tea room so cozy and zen. Plus laying by the pool afterwards (and maybe grabbing a cocktail!) is the cherry on top.

Yelp
The Madonna inn is quirky, funky and cool .. dive vibes with a nice heated pool and views of beautiful green rolling hills. Spa services and horse back riding are available. I love the Spa at the Madonna Inn. Get a massage and have lunch at the pool. It is a fun Amtrak destination. The rooms are kooky and fun. We liked the cloud 9 room, shopping and the bakery at the Inn. Wine tasting tours are popular here, and the decor is loud over the top and obnoxious... like an explosion of vintage cotton candy! Good times! many classic iconic stars have been here in the past. They have beautiful gardens and two restaurants on site.

Yelp
Great 5 room spa @ the top of the property! Make reservation well in advance! Several massage therapist to choose from. 3 Estheticians. Robe, shower, cookies and tea with champagne after. Access to the pool all day!

Yelp
I was so pleased with my experience at The Spa. The quality was excellent and all the amenities made my massage a wonderful time. Massage was excellent also!!! Swimming in the pool and ordering a charcuterie at the Pool side bar ended my day. I highly recommend The Spa at Madonna Inn.

Yelp
The butter me up massage is worth every penny. Murat is my favorite therapist, but I've had great massages from others, too. The pool and hot tub area is nice with great views (and the limited admission makes it nice because it is less crowded.) The spa facilities are beautiful and makes the whole experience feel luxurious. Take my advice: Treat yourself to the gift of self-care at the Madonna Inn spa...you'll thank me later.

Aina G.

Yelp
Great facilities, but I'm so sad about the massage Booked a 90 minute deep tissue and asked several times (and wrote on the form) for him to really focus on my left shoulder and side of my back cause I'm having a lot of pain there and that's why I came in, but he barely spent any time on it. The facilities are beautiful but I'm super bummed spent $250 and I feel the same as I did before I came in. I'm disappointed and feel like I still need a massage. At other spas I feel amazing the day of and even days after. The spa facilities are nice tho, wish I could try a different therapist maybe.

Yelp
I had a 60 minute Madonna Signature Massage with Kelsey N. last month and have been raving about it since! I get monthly massages but Kelsey's technique was out of this world. From the moment Kelsey walked me into her treatment room I could feel her warm and caring demeanor. It is important for me to have a therapist who can read the vibe and not be too chatty- Kelsey did just that checking in on me a couple times about the pressure. I was so relaxed afterward I regretted not booking the 90 minute. The facilities were small but beautiful, and most importantly clean. Robes were nice and fluffy. I loved that you have access to the resorts pool and jacuzzi(s). After my massage I was taken to a small relaxation room where I had herbal tea and a macaron from the bakery! Overall a very relaxing experience and I will be back for a 90 minute massage with Kelsey the next time I find myself in SLO.

Yelp
I was surprised by this place to say the least. Spent one quick night at the Madonna Inn while driving up the coast in May and checked in after dark. I had a few hours in the morning and decided to go see what the pool looked like and found this spa. The inside looks small - but the dressing rooms are large and pretty with a lovely, classy and elegant locker room (not tacky as you'd expect based on the rooms) and there are more treatment rooms beyond. The two gals working inside were amazing. I spent like 3 hours trying on probably every single bikini they had - it was the day after my birthday and I was having a blast shopping. It was unexpected - but hey - that's what happens when you're on a solo road trip by yourself! You improvise! After a few hours they brought me some fruit infused water with some delicious little cookies to snack on and continued to bring me things to try on. Seriously - I probably tried on the entire store and they had WAY more clothing than I expected. They had some gorgeous swimsuits such as LUXE by Lisa Vogel which are SO flattering and comfy with gorgeous styles. I had never tried this brand before and I am now hooked. The ladies inside were knowledgeable about fit and sizing and were so kind to me the entire time. I ended up buying a swimsuit cover and sport bra and saved the suits for later online shopping since I needed different top and bottom sizes (I'm small busted but have a butt) and they only sell them as a sized set... but when I left the manager wrote me out some suggestions for things to see and even helped me google the times available for the Hearst castle tours because that was my next stop for the day. She suggested some places to eat and sent me on my way. I did not have a treatment here - but I spent several hours here with the kind gals inside and was charmed and spoiled. I can't say enough about good customer service. This place has it in spades!

Yelp
I have been getting massages at the Madonna inn for years! Just got out of a massage with Kelsey and she was AMAZING!! So kind and really worked the area that I needed! Yelp
Holy shit yall. One of the best massages of my life. I love getting massages. I love it so much I'd probably list it as one of my hobbies. But given that I get them so frequently, it takes a lot for a massage to impress me, and my Sunday morning massage with Jen DELIVERED. I got their signature massage and my husband got the deep tissue massage, and both of us were seriously impressed. Afterward, they took us to a cute little room with individually wrapped cookies and mugs of tea for each of us. I loved my experience at the spa and will definitely book massages the next time I'm at the hotel.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience at the star. From the moment you enter until when you leave. Cookies served are from the on-site bakery and are Devine. Very nice locker room and relaxation room. Wonderful treatment from Katie. This place accepts spa finders. Nice surprise before you leave.I will be back for sure!

Yelp
This is my favorite spa. Today I had the best massage of my life, and I've had lots of massages. Jenna knew exactly what my body needed. The receptionist was great. We enjoyed the fresh fruit before our massage and tea, champagne and cookies after.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I love Katie for awesome facials. I've been in the industry myself for 20+ years and she is my go to for skincare. I highly recommend her for whatever you're looking for in an esthetician. She will customize your treatment for what is the most beneficial for your skin type. I always add on derma planing for hair removal and exfoliation.

Yelp
this place looks super fancy and bougie but the staff were rude for no reason? i asked about reserving spa services in advance and this lady's eyes almost rolled out of her damn head i felt like selena in that one scene at the mall....anyway i left and went to the bar instead

Yelp
Best massage I've had in a long time! My husband & I did a couples massage on our honeymoon and I loved the entire experience from the robes, slippers & locker room to the waiting area to the shared massage room to the sunny room at the end with champagne & tea! Everyone was considerate, helpful & friendly! The massages were affordable too. I'd go every time I visit for sure!

Yelp
I visited the Spa at the Madonna Inn for the second time just a few days ago, and I just had post this review. My massage therapist, Jenna, was absolutely amazing. The service I chose was a scrub and a massage, with a hand and foot treatment, and I loved every minute of it. Although the Spa doesn't have an indoor steam or sauna, I believe they don't even need them. There is a gorgeous pool and two jacuzzi's outside the spa which have a beautiful view, and it is very tranquil and relaxing. The staff was charming, and I felt truly pampered. Alexandra, the Spa Director is amazing, and makes everyone feel special and like a family member. I have been in the spa business for 25 years and currently work in a spa on the Central Coast, and I can say with the utmost confidence that you will have a great experience here!

Yelp
Wow!.....I moved here last year from San Francisco and have been desperate to find a good facial. I booked the calm facial with Katie and it was incredible. Better than any facial I've had in years, her esthetician knowledge and masseuse skills were amazing. Katie knows her stuff about the Eminence skin care line and answered all of my questions. My skin is still glowing hours later and I already booked my next appointment.

Karren B.

Yelp
The spa experience was a Moms Day gift. The overall spa experience from arriving and being greeted to sipping tea before leaving was a great experience. However this was my first facial experience so I didn't know what to expect. I wish the girl would have explained things a little more to me. The person I had for the facial seemed to be annoyed and spent the first 15 minutes of the facial telling me I should've arrived earlier, That I didn't need to fill out all of the forms and the receptionist should've done a better job telling me that. It made it difficult to relax in the beginning but unfortunately her tone carried through the facial. I was with another person and she was taken back at the same time I was. She said her girl was very kind. I arrived to the tea room at least 10 minutes before her. I don't feel I got the complete 60 minutes but honestly it was probably better. Sadly I'll have to use this as how facials go and decide if I want to do it again.

Yelp
We received a great massage, fantastic service, and amazing after massage service. The massage therapists knew what they were doing, specially with our sensitivities and special requests. Elle and Sarah are skilled massage therapists who know how to communicate and take good care of the guests. Also, we left some stuff in the locker, and received them back the next day with a smile from their cheerful front desk staff, Isis. Thank you and we'll see you soon.

Christina R.

Yelp
My friend and I booked massage/facials MONTHS in advance and drove up to have a nice stay/getaway. An hour before our appointment, we received call saying the person doing the facials called out, there were no other appointments during the rest of our stay, and that we were basically screwed. I guess if you book this place, be prepared for them to cancel on you and not care.

Yelp
I was in desperate need of a dual facial appointment the weekend before Valentine's Day for my mothers birthday. Everyone else around was booked weeks in advance for the couples spa days, when I was recommended to the Madonna Inn spa. While I was unable to book two facials at once, they were able to slot us in one appointment after the other. I booked an acne clearing facial and my mother an anti aging facial. Their spa parking lot is tiny, and since my mother is in a wheelchair it was a bit inconvenient to drop her off (since their was no parking) and drive down the hill a ways, then walk back up. Unless you're a guest at the hotel, you'll need a key card to even enter the spa reception. Upon being greeted you are told to pay upfront, and even offered the option to pay gratuity beforehand. We were given robes, slippers, and shower soaps and shown our waiting room with refreshments before our appointment. My mother went first, afterwards myself having the same facialist. She was incredibly professional and easy going, we had a great conversation and my face was glowing afterwards. While a bit on the expensive side I was very pleased with the results, and would definitely consider another trip!

Yelp
We come here often when the weather is nice and get a spa treatment and relax by the pool. We have been there a couple times before where a kid pooped in the pool. This time it happened again and the pool was closed when we got there at 10am not opening until 3 pm and then it happened again right after that!! Apparently they need a new pool system as they close the pool for 6 hours each time!! They need a sign put up about this that they will be fined or something! Its excessive and not fair to the guests at all. The spa is calming and nice but you ALWAYS get shorted on the time. If you book a 60 massage be prepared for 50ish... if you book a 90 minute be prepared for 80. It is not cheap and not cool at all. They also want you to pay in advance and tip in advance. Who asks for that? Not worth it at all!!

Yelp
My absolute favorite go-to spot with girlfriends for a day of relaxation. The spa, the services, the staff, the tea room and of course the pool all of it is just amazing!

Karie R.

Yelp
I had a signature facial by Barbara. It was amazing. The eminence products smelled delicious and felt soothing. Barbara noticed a questionable mole on my face under her magnifying glass that my dermatologist missed a month before. Thank you!! Pool was wonderful too!

Yelp
Had a wonderful massage here this afternoon. From the moment I walked in to check in I was made to feel like a queen. The ambiance from the ladies "locker room " to the waiting area, is just beautiful, warm and inviting. The massage was not rushed, she took her time, she was just lovely. I highly suggest you spend the day at the spa, you will not regret it.

Yelp
Wow how did I get to be the first person to review this spa?!? For the last few weeks I had been planning a romantic get away with the boyfriend for his Birthday. Finally this last weekend, we got to experience a great stay at the Madonna Inn. Part of the plan was for a romantic couple's massage at The Spa at Madonna Inn. When I called to make the reservation, the woman at the desk was incredibly pleasant, took my information and set up the appointment for me. It was quick and efficient. They asked us to arrive 30 minutes before our treatment so that we could take an exfoliating shower and get ready for our treatment. After the shower, we put on our robes and slippers and met back up in the waiting room. They had lemon water, sliced fruit and mixed nuts set up for us to enjoy prior to our treatment. When our therapists were ready, they came and got us for our massages. We were side by side, just close enough to hold hands. The massages began and it was fantastic. Soothing, and consistent, she had good rhythm and was good at keeping constant contact. I actually was able to relax for once, so much so that I actually fell asleep!!! When we finished the massage, we were led into another room where they had set up hot tea and cookies from their bakery for us to enjoy. The meringue cookies were to die for! Following the "cool down" room, we were allowed to use the pool and spa with access to the locker rooms until they closed at 6pm. The jacuzzis are small but romantic and comfortable. Overall it was a great experience and was very reasonably priced. Thank you to Nancy and all of the staff at The Spa for making it a special experience for me and my boyfriend.

Yelp
My wife went for special relaxing day. Overall a beautiful location and facility but only an average experience for more than twice the price. For the same price paid you can have a significantly better and pampered experience at other spa locations to the north. Also 20% gratuity was collected before ANY service was provided, always thought gratuity should be given AFTER service and has room for movement of amount up or down depending on quality of service. Overall nice place, unique setting in the Madonna Inn way, nice spa setting, but not the spa the staff thinks it is.

Yelp
What a perfect spa. First off, you walk through the pool area to get to it and you just wanna dive right into that pool. It's full to the brim and it had no edges..just kept draining and refilling and the water was as warm as a bathtub. I can see why the spa instructs you to bring swimwear, as you may want to take a dip right after your massage. The spa is neatly decorated and I loved the sparkly star chandeliers that lined each room. Me and the boyfriend showered with the scrub they provide and met up in this 'relaxing lounge' and ate cookies, fruit and had spa water until our massage peeps were ready for us. We opted for a same-room couples massage. He had Jack and I had Kelsey working on me. Kelsey had magic hands and made me feel like I had been pummeled into a boneless, pile of flesh by the end of my massage. I felt so relaxed and so did my man. The ONLY only issue we had was that the twinkly music stopped 1/2 way through our massage and it didn't come back on for a good 15 minutes, which totally messed with both our heads. Keep that music going folks! It really sets a mood and once it disappears, it gets awkward. Once our massages were done, they put us in a tea room with tea and some tiny macaroon cookies...again, more deliciousness. We sat there for a long time wondering what to do next or if they were going to come back for us. But no, they just wanted us to relax and bask in our afterglow. Such great people working here, they really go out of their way to make sure you feel 100% comfy at all times.

Yelp
A hidden gem of a spa. This is worth a trip to SLO alone! I am pretty enchanted with the whole place really and didn't know they had such a superior spa. Very pleasant service, we were treated like queens and princesses. I was thrilled that they offered a teen services menu so that my daughter and I could enjoy the spa together. It was an excellent first time massage for her in a shared room with me. We were given a pineapple scrub to use as we were ushered into the lovely locker room to shower and change, so nice we bought a bottle to use at home. Our time in the quiet room was a welcome transition from outdoors with a glass of champagne for me and some fruits and other snacks available. Our massage was soothing and excellent and we loved our tea service after the massage. Will definitely return! Excellent service all around.

Yelp
Went for a couples massage the day after Valentines day. They were able to book me for a last minute appointment just two days before. The pool area is very cute and nice to relax in, so I would recommend getting there early so you can enjoy it. I got their pink drink from the pool bar which was sweet and refreshing. The whole experience was nice and relaxing and I loved finishing with tea and a cookie at the end of the experience. My only reason for 4 stars is that it is a bit pricey for a soft massage, I feel like for the price I would expect deep tissue.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Madonna Spa. The massage was absolutely fantastic. I have gotten many massages before, some more professional than others. This massage was absolutely one of the best ever! I took my girlfriend here and we went for a couples massage. We were greeted by Jedie, she was super pleasant and helpful and just over all wonderful. It was splendid. We relaxed with a long warm shower with special exfoliating cream and then sat in a relaxing waiting area to be called into our massage. We were greeted kindly by Kelsey and Elizabeth, our masseuses, who took us back to our private room. The massage was excellent. Kelsey and Elizabeth massaged. Every part of us to perfection. The pressure and attentiveness of their touch was perfect. We left this spa floating away in bliss. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
First time was already a charm! We booked at the last minute and they were able to accommodate me and my daughter for a get away massage therapy. We were instructed to come in at least half hour early to fill out a form and to take advantage of the spa benefits. We were greeted by two professional staff members and were led to this room to enjoy our spa water, cheese, bread, fruit and enjoy some and quality peaceful time before our appointment . We were greeted by our assigned masseuse who just have the softest hands. EVER. ( I wish I remember mine's but Jason was my daughter's) Quiet, peaceful and quite a relaxation so deserving! The price is all worth it! Right after you're done, you'll be escorted to the tea room and be given more time to relax and enjoy the best cookie (macaroon like) ! And because we are hotel guests, we get to enjoy their heated pool and gym! We've been to several hotel spa places and this one was a truly amazing experience! Get-away massages for 45 minutes are soooooo worth it in this place! Don't miss it if you're already booked in this magical place.

Yelp
Best massage experience EVER!!! I have had many massages over the years & this truly was the best, most relaxing experience I've had. Be sure to bring your swimsuit so you can enjoy the gorgeous pool - there is a bar at the pool from which you can get cocktails, beer, wine & food. I spent hours there after my massage reading my book & sipping cocktails. Just wait I needed. (Tip - pool gets busy in the afternoon)

Yelp
My daughter and I had such a fabulous time at Madonna Inn Spa and pool today. Brianna, Alexandra and Jenna were all so kind and welcoming. I spent a little time in the fitness room, relaxed by the gorgeous pool, had a beautiful artisan cheese platter and chicken panini for lunch, and then a deep tissue massage. It was truly a relaxing day and I highly recommend this experience.

Yelp
We were staying at The Madonna Inn for our 10 year anniversary and decided to schedule ourselves a massage while were were there. We were very happy with the service! We both had the Madonna Swedish massage $120/hr) and I added the Deep Tissue ($30) to it. My gal, Danielle, did a pretty good job of getting in deep. It was actually pretty cool how they take you into a room where you wait for your masseuse where you can have some fresh lemon water and cookies (which were very good). Male and female have their own bathroom where you can change into your robe and slippers and lock up your belongings in a locker they assign you. There are also showers and sinks to allow you to prepare before and after if you like. After your massage is done, they take you to another room that has tea and a wonderful cream cookie waiting for you to relax a little longer. Overall, we really enjoyed our time there and will definitely schedule another appointment when we stay at The Madonna Inn again!

Yelp
Spa experience was great, however I had my infant (3 mos) with me. My mom and I took turns getting massages and watching the baby while laying at the pool. They charged me $50 for a day pass for my infant to be allowed at the pool!!

Yelp
A very pleasant experience--very professional staff, skilled masseuses (both my dh and I loved ours--mine was Rosanne). I was a bit uncertain whether my dh would like the experience but he has mentioned his back as problematic, so I thought it might be welcome. He loved it, especially the relaxed feeling of well-being!!! The pampering would have been more than we would typically indulge in but some family members were kind enough to gift us with some spa finder gift cards so it wasn't too bad....

Yelp
I've been to a few spas in my time and the spa at Madonna Inn sits at the top of my list thus far. I recently went with a friend who said her massage was great, as was mine. The massage table was so comfortable (sometimes, massage tables can be a bit too hard). The whole set up is perfect. It's a nice touch that they give you a sugar scrub to use in your shower to start your visit. The locker room/showers are beautiful. Let's face it...it's those extras that make going to a spa fun. The waiting area before your service not only has the customary water and fruit that you find at other spas (which is lovely to begin with) but they also put out a tray of cookies. Mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm...sweetness. While waiting, one can read a book about the history of the hotel. I had my eyebrows waxed. But it was so much more than a simple waxing. The aesthetician was the best. She took her time and actually shaped my brows. I couldn't be more happier with them. Too bad I live 5 hours away. Also, the table was heated. Bonus! After your services, you are given tea and the most delicious cookie/pastry/creamy sweet with a cup of tea while you regroup and look out onto the most fabulous view of the hills of SLO complete with turkey vultures soaring around. We also sat out in the hot tub before we left enjoying that same view. The pool was closed since there had been a contamination which was a bummer but at the same time shows that they maintain superior standards of quality. Always nice to know! The whole staff was super friendly. No pretention here. If you are looking for a spa in this area, you can't go wrong. I must mention that the prices are more than fair considering all that is included in your visit.

Yelp
Unfortunately I am not able to grade the quality of the actual spa. Whereas my family and I regularly come to the Madonna Inn, we chose to stay at another hotel this time. However, my wife and I wanted to try out the spa at the hotel. We were quoted $320 for a facial and hour-long deep tissue massage. This included the cost of a $50 pool pass for our 4-year-old son. When I asked why we had to pay for that when my wife and I were already paying a good amount for spa services, I was told that this was "our policy at the Spa." I asked for clarity, considering my wife and I were looking at spending good money on available times at the spa that day and was told "this is our policy" again. When I asked to speak with the manager, the manager told me the same, and additionally told me that many people had already paid the $50 pool fee for their children that day (a Monday in August). I refused to pay the equivalent of a discounted Disneyland ticket for a 4-year-old to hop in a pool for 90 minutes. We cancelled our reservation and made our grievances known to the manager. This policy reflects poorly on the Madonna and we will not be going to the spa anytime soon due to their ridiculous "policies."

Yelp
My wife and I got a couples massage from Jennifer and Hilda. They were essentially life changing. We have never been so relaxed and the rest of the staff was amazing as well. We will probably go back to the resort just so we can get another massage. The new pool area is also fantastic although it could be a little bigger.

Yelp
I was just here the other day with my family. My nieces had their first official spa experiences just the day before and absolutely loved it. My youngest niece (7 years old) said that she wants to live there. Ha! The next day, my mom, sister, and I went in together for treatment. We ran into a minor scheduling snafu which upset my mom-HOWEVER, one of the women at the desk (whose name I wish I had gotten) immediately offered a solution that was better than what we wanted anyway. We were treated so well all the way through. We were all very happy with each person we had for services and had a great experience all the way through. I had Kelsey and Hilda. Both were great and I would highly recommend! Each staff member that we encountered at the spa went out of their way to accommodate us. I hope to come back soon. Out of the other spas that I have been to, this is my favorite. The other thing I found interesting, was that when you are standing outside of the spa, it seems like a small building. Once you are actually inside of the spa, it seems like a labyrinth of doors that just keep going and is amazingly larger than it appears on the exterior. Oh, and how could I forget, at the end of our treatments, we got to sip on tea and one have of the best little pastry treats ever (might be some sort of macaroon), seriously the best! In addition to the tea, we also got to sip on some Champagne together while we celebrated my sister's 40th Birthday as a family in a private room that overlooked the pool. This is one of the best spa experiences I have had. Another thing I wanted to add was that they sale Soybu Yoga pants which are great!

Yelp
Amazing! Had the best time, it was a great birthday present from my boyfriend and a great me day! I got the macadamia body scrub and it was 90 minutes of heaven! Perfect day! Everyone was nice, the atmosphere was peaceful.

Yelp
The massage therapists were top notch. Some of the best ever. The pool was so wonderful and great, so definitely build that into your time if you aren't staying at the hotel. The staff all over this place is a little off, so don't take it personally. I had some questions about something that was supposed to be sent to us and they immediately blamed the gourmet shop without even listening to my question. The guy at the pool bar was just mad about something... But hey, you go to the spa for the massage and I will DEFINITELY be going back.

Yelp
I come to the Madonna Inn spa every time I'm back in SLO. The people are always so welcoming and helpful, and the massages are to die for! I have never had a bad experience here and would highly recommend it for anyone!

Yelp
Highly recommended!! I had the Kona Spa Ritual and i enjoyed every minute of it. I unfortunately did not catch the name of my massage therapist, but he was amazing! And the receptionist was such a pleasure as well, she was able to recommend great place to eat in downtown San Luis Obispo. I will definitely be coming back.
