The SPARROW

This is the second time we have stayed at The Sparrow and we love it. It is a very modern and fresh place to stay at and only blocks away from downtown Boise. As soon as you check in you can tell your stay will be an enjoyable and relaxed one. The rooms are very nice with different “themes” to them, they have a modern quirky aesthetic. Very clean room and bathroom. Love the showers, they’re very spacious, with great water pressure. The price to stay here isn’t bad at all, this will be our go to when we want to stay the night in Boise.

I won the Boise Best Package in a giveaway so we had a staycation this weekend. We had a few hiccups but they were taken care of. The gal that checked us in was fantastic and the manager listened to my concerns. I have worked in customer service forever so those things are important to me. The room was super cute. Im obsessed with the lotion and hadsoap. It smells so good. Was close to all things downtown!! Our old man puppers loved the extras for him! I mean he would make a great model for a dog friendly hotel advertisement! 🤣

Any other hotel I've stayed at, I've always been up at 5 or 6, ready to go for the day. This mattress was so comfortable, the alarm went off three times, I stayed in bed til 745. The room was cute, I had an Idaho potato room. Shower pressure was good. I did not like the square toilet seat. It was weird. 🤣 Sara was great. I had the window open, the city sounds weren't too bad.

Want an average experience at a premium price? Look no further! Room was $170 which is like ok it should be mid-ish, but then to park you pay another $15. Want to watch a movie? $25. Want breakfast? Unless you want to eat tea bag grounds, you're going to be buying it so theres another $30. There you go, if you can find another hotel for $250 that just has normal amenities, you'll be wayyyyyy happier. Pros: Nicer than a motel shower. Toilet is shaped for large/square buttocks which is really lucky for me since I have the physique of a Minecraft character. Cons: TV has this thing that says you can connect your phone to stream from you phone, save yourself 30 minutes and 19 swear words, its not functional. Bed frame is cheesy, its slanted so you're perpetually falling upward towards the headboard but you're also never moving. I don't know how to explain that level of uncomfortable. I thought sleep deprivation was deemed a war crime, but I think they might have a commercial exemption. Its a straight up motel 8 with makeup on it and an AC unit that was designed to match the running noise of an General Electric F404 F-18 turbofan jet engine. Overall 3/5, they tried and their front of house was polite

Found a parking spot easily upon arrival. Checking in the staff were great and the lobby was clean. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint was noise. Our room was above the office / coffee shop area. There was a lot of noise from the coffee shop. Once it closed it was fine, until the next morning when it opened back up. I would say if you’re staying here and like it quiet, request a room that’s not above the coffee shop. Other than the noise, great little place to stay with great / friendly staff.

Stayed at The Sparrow February 12th thru the 15th. The hotel has a great location, comfortable bed, and friendly, helpful staff. Otherwise, it was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences I've had in quite some time. The room had no closet, no microwave, and a sliding barn door (which was not adjusted properly and made it very difficult to open or close) for the bathroom. Upon our arrival I paid additional for parking and was given a reserved spot for the duration of our stay. Parked and went into the hotel only to find the elevator was inoperable (it was working the following day and then broken again for our checkout). Carried all our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Again, the bed was quite comfortable but very tight quarters. There are no bedside tables, and you can't even walk around to the left side of the bed as it is 4 inches from the wall. Went to bed only to be woken up at 4:30 am due to loud noise from construction across the street (would have been nice to know there was ongoing construction). Arrived back at the hotel that night only to have another vehicle parked in our reserved space (that I paid for). Told the front desk and they had me park near the lobby where the parking is extremely tight. That night someone on our floor was having a loud party that went on well past midnight (we are right next to Boise State after all). Next night we arrived back at the hotel and not only was our reserved spot still occupied but there was no parking near the lobby either. I temporarily parked off sight and walked back to the hotel to speak to the front desk. When I walked back to the hotel luckily a spot near the lobby had become available, I ran back to my car and quickly got back to the hotel so I wouldn't lose the newly available parking spot. Thankfully, no loud parties this night or loud construction waking us up at 4:30 in the morning. Went to put our luggage in the car and checkout, once again, the elevator was inoperable. Had to carry our luggage down three flights of stairs. The hotel staff were wonderful to deal with, and they did remove the parking charges. Other than the staff and location, I honestly don't understand how The Sparrow received as many positive reviews as it has. I feel like we should have been warned of the ongoing construction and the loud party should have been broken up way sooner than it was. The hotel is quite small so the staff should have been aware of the noise regardless of complaints from others.

Hotel was very nice and felt very safe. I wouldn’t recommend going for the view, my room had a view of construction and my parents had a view of concrete wall haha. The beds were comfy, pillows were fluffy but flat. The shower was amazing, and the toilets are square! I thought it was really cool having a card holder in order for the lights to come on as well.

I visited Boise for the first time last weekend and loved The Sparrow Hotel. Cool, modern design, extremely comfortable rooms, and friendly personalized service made staying here a delight. The amenities were very nice - high quality bath products, delicious steeping coffee packets, a full couch, and a very comfortable bed. I got a great casual dinner recommendation from the front desk as well. The cherry on top? They have an adorable puppy that comes over to say hello when you check in and she naps behind the front desk!

Oh from the moment I walked it - the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Parking was not an issue, the hallways were clean and smelled amazing! When I entered the room - it overlooked the outside common area/coffee spot, it was extremely clean. The room looked like I was the first person to ever have stayed in it. It's close to EVERYTHING!

Very noisy hotel and staff will not accommodate you if you have a complaint. We Booked 4 rooms $$$$ and they put us directly above the late night life WITHOUT A WARNING ABOUT THE NOISE, and when we complained they said "sorry, you knew you were staying in downtown when you booked this hotel" I suggest that potential patrons choose another location and think twice about staying here. Also the parking lot is very very small and not made for large vehicles. We will never stay here again. We spent almost $800 at this hotel and they would not accommodate us shame on them.

We had a reservation for a night here on a roadtrip with a car loaded full of gear and our dog. I was looking forward to staying in "trendier" area. However 2 hours to our arrival they texted saying that the parking lot was full and would need to instead park in the street or a nearby garage. Uncomfortable with leaving a packed car off-site they obliged our request to cancel and were able to secure another hotel. They were easy to communicate with over text message and helpful but ultimately the lack of parking was a disappointing surprise.

Very cool hotel with an energetic and welcoming staff across the board. Entire team friendly, professional, and helpful from check in to departure. Truly made us feel welcomed and valued. Bed, extremely comfortable, good Wi-Fi and location could not be better. Nice coffee shop in the lobby, everything is new and fresh, don't miss taking the stairs at least once to review the local geographic trivia. Finally, outside area is quiet and accommodating. When the weather is good, nice place to relax in an Adirondack with a beverage and just chill. The best dinner venues in downtown are just a 5-minute walk away. Solid hotel choice, definitely recommend. Finally, thanks again Sara, Ayla and the entire Sparrow team!

Based on reviews I chose the Sparrow for my trip to Boise. It's in the most excellent location. A lot of places to eat and drink all just steps away. If you are staying local a car isn't necessary. The airport is merely 15 mins away and about the same in fare. The room is clean, there is a hairdryer and a mini fridge. The shampoo and conditioner is next level not shit in a bottle so no need to pack your own. It isn't as fancy as the Renegade but the difference is in the dollar. Only funky thing is the lights do not turn on unless you leave your key in. At first I thought it was slightly annoying but upon further reflection I think it's a great set up. Electricity is expensive in $$ and environmental toll. I support this measure. I was always guilty of leaving a light on when I left my room. Pretty wasteful truth be told. I'd recommend.

Perfect hotel for visiting downtown Boise. Clean, dog friendly (dog bowl, potty bags, dog blanket), tastefully decorated, chocolates... priced the same as nearby chain hotels.

terrible service. Bad attitude. Wouldn't recommend. Lots of better options. Location was extremely noisy with construction going on across the way. Couldn't sleep either.

It's conveniently located near lots of restaurants and places to grab a drink. It's a super cute place to stay. Check in was quick and simple. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and we loved having a mini fridge in the room. They also have a seating area in the waiting area. They have an outdoor fireplace which is awesome. PARKING: They have a parking lot attached to the hotel but they also have street parking. I believe you have to pay for both but you don't have to pay for street parking if it's late on Saturday or Sunday. Street parking can be a bit challenging to find but if you're patient, you can find a spot. I would definitely come back!

In a great location, so 3 stars for that! Very walkable. The rooms are smaller than an average hotel room, so if you are staying for more than a few days or traveling with a few big bags...no closet or places to put bags, clothes, etc. If there are 3 people and you stay in the room with a bed and sofa bed, you will all be able to hold hands and not be able to walk to the bathroom if the sofa bed is out. Lobby and little coffee shop are cute. Staff was not very kind and recieved different answers on the same question depending on whom you asked.

This place has a lot of potential but needs some upgrades. Amazing coffee shop and food truck out front. Great shower and bathroom in the room. Bed was comfortable. AC kept re setting to 78. The elevator was absolutely below average, boarder line sketchy. Better off using the stairs. The ice machine out of order. Rooms needed key card to turn electric on? Was weird. - also tv is not a smart tv? Would not connect to Netflix. Was frustrating when I was trying to wind down after working all day. So much construction across the st. Not sure it was worth the money. Would stay again for the coffee shop and food truck convenience but overall not impressed.

Medina was the greatest concierge ever! Clean rooms. Nice bathrooms! Great location central to downtown. Place has a hipster upscale NW vibe to it and quite pleasent. Will be staying again!

Absolutely loved staying here. Wonderful staff. In the middle of downtown and easy access to all cafes and bars. Beautifully appointed rooms and the best bathrobes ever.

Our hotel stay at the sparrow was from Tuesday thru Sunday. The hotel and the rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was nice and responsive. The hotel smelt clean and the interior and exterior were noticeably very clean. We would stay again.

This place is so cute. The courtyard is great, my pups were greeted with bandanas, a ball and a water bowl in the room. The front desk staff and coffee bar staff were wonderful. Room was super clean, and a nice mix of industrial and stylish. The bed and pillows were sooo comfortable and right in the heart of downtown. I wish we could stay longer to explore more.
