The Speakeasy Tavern

Raise your hand if you’re tired of hearing about the “new hidden gem” in town. Well, this is one of the rare times it’s actually true. Speakeasy Tavern in Greensboro is an amazing spot that delivers on every level. This two-story bar has everything you could want—great food, a chill atmosphere, and even board games to keep things fun. Whether you're there for drinks, casual conversation, or just to unwind, it’s got the perfect vibe. I was genuinely shocked at the quality of the food—it’s not just your typical bar fare. Everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared, which is a pleasant surprise for a place that primarily markets itself as a tavern. The layout is also worth mentioning. With two levels, there’s plenty of space, so it never feels too crowded. The downstairs area has a cozy, relaxed feel, while the upstairs offers more seating and a great view of the action below. If you’re looking for a laid-back yet lively place to grab drinks, play a few board games, and enjoy surprisingly good food, Speakeasy Tavern is absolutely worth checking out. This is one hidden gem that actually lives up to the hype.

I got the black beansticks and sauces as our appetizer. It was amazing. Midtown Philly with steak fries. The food was great. Friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

I enjoyed everything with the exception of the crab dip. I feel as if it could use a little more seasoning. I ended up using my fried chips to dip it with to give it more flavor. The lemon pepper wings were delicious and the peel and eat shrimp hit the spot.

I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time I really enjoyed the burger. It was cooked well and very flavorful! The sweet potato waffle fries are delicious! The second time I got the burger, it wasn't cooked medium well like I ordered. It was well done. I don't like well done at all. The crab dip was ok. It was dry and lacked flavor and cheese. The service was good. I ordered to go but the servers were both nice. I would recommend the burgers. I haven't tried much else. It's nice inside but a little small.

I stopped in for some wings and noticed seared tuna on the menu as well so I ordered both. Both were good. Not outta this world but I’d return.

Great private club. Delicious food and nice live performances. Very cool upstairs game area or quiet escape. Service did take quite a while, they seemed to only have one server and one chef.

To Wes, Lauren and staff, a round of applause for all! What a wonderful time we had at my son’s engagement party. Your catering service were top notch and yummy. Wes and staff made sure everyone was taken care of. From making our signature cocktails to the use of your fun patio and outside bar, perfect place to host a party!! 🍾🎉

Great spot. Great service. Great food! The sweet potato waffle fries were the best Ive ever had ! Battleground burger was amazing too!
