The Spencer Hotel is located an easy 15 minute walk from Dublin City centre - close enough to access the centre easily and escape easily when you’ve had enough! Good public transport within a few minutes walk of the hotel with great links to the airport and train stations. I stayed in a Superior Room, it was fine for me but may be a bit of a squeeze if you are sharing a room. The bed and pillows were comfy, lovely fluffy towels, nice toiletries, a coffee machine and kettle, and complementary water, tea and coffee were all appreciated. Access to the Health Club and pool was great! The only issue was the noise of the traffic which surprised me as my room wasn’t facing the main road, it was facing onto the street that runs alongside the hotel. I picked up some ear plugs for my second night which solved the problem. If you are a light sleeper, request a quiet room. I mentioned the noise when I checked out and was impressed with how well the receptionist handled my feedback. All in all, a good hotel with good staff which I would happily visit again.

Had a great time at The Spencer. My sister and I came down over night for a concert and couldn't fault it at all. The staff were all so lovely, especially Ander who checked us in, he took his time talking to us and making us feel very welcome. Rooms were lovely, breakfast was unreal and the hotel is very close to dublin city centre as well as the 3arena for concerts. Has a great time thank you!

** A++ Hotel for a Meeting ** |I had one of the best meeting experiences of 2024 at The Spencer Hotel in Dublin! Lenka Kolova took amazing care of all my many meeting needs leading up to our arrival. I am based in the United States, so I had tons of questions, and even more unique requests, plus there are the differing time zones! I am so thankful for Lenka and her patience!! She was incredible! |On the sleeping rooms side of things, I worked with Maisie Campbell the most and she and her team were lovely. So helpful! |Once on-site, Pawel took the absolute BEST care of our entire group / meeting! He was unbelievable! He was on top of all our needs and very accommodating. Thank you, BIG, Pawel! ||This was my first time hosting a meeting in Dublin and should I get the opportunity to return, I would go back to The Spencer Hotel without hesitation! I recommend The Spencer Hotel for both business AND leisure! A total 10/10!

Google
Room was lovely and staff were helpful and friendly. Problem was with the shower, it was cold and the pressure wasn’t great. Construction workers started at early in morning so a lay in was out of the question. Wouldn’t stay here again, would’ve been great to have had a heads up from the hotel about the ongoing construction work.

Google
my stay at this hotel was disappointing. The atmosphere was chaotic, with large groups of unsupervised teenagers engaging in disruptive behavior, including drinking and using electric scooters in the lobby. The overall experience felt poorly managed and did not provide a comfortable or relaxing environment. I would not choose to stay here again.

Google
Pool issues. We booked this hotel specifically for the pool, as we're traveling with kids, and it was the only one with an indoor pool. The pool is managed by a gym that treats the hotel guests like inconveniences, there are specific hours kids are allowed, and it all felt very frustrating. I started jokingly referring to the pool and gym staff as bouncers. They literally gave us countdowns and turned off lights in the pool to the very minute. Not hospitable and unfriendly. The rest of our stay was great, comfy beds, central etc, but we could've saved a lot of money by going to the non-pool hotels.

Google
Great location, and very comfortable room... balcony was great to sit and watch the world go by. |Storms meant that I couldn't sail home, but the staff were amazing and found me a room (3 times). So friendly and welcoming and no complaints about any of the team.|Restaurant menu was standard hotel fare, but very tasty (rib-eye was great). Breakfast buffet not so great (overcooked scrambled eggs, and undercooked bacon) but that seems to be acceptable to most.|All in all, the staff are what made this hotel a great place to stay.

Yelp
Booked The Spencer to be within walking distance of Aviva Stadium for Eras. Team was very nice here, I liked the breakfast, the hotel bar was nothing to write home about (suitable for a drink before/after the show but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here), the room (we got the standard King) was really spacious! Great gym.

Yelp
I chose the Spencer hotel for my trip to Dublin based on its location and views of the Liffey. I have been completely and delightfully surprised by how wonderful The Spencer experience has been. The hotel is immaculate. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the views are very special. The staff is exceptional - helpful, courteous, professional, pleasant. The hotel gym is far more than a typical hotel gym. Ample space, intelligent choice of equipment for the space. Well-maintained, very clean and the staff is (as with the hotel staff) helpful and pleasant. I look forward to staying at the Spencer hotel in Dublin in the future.

Yelp
Wonderfully spacious, comfortable rooms. Every amenity you will need. Located right on the bus line. Bus stops literally right out front (the airport bus) and the Dublin HOHO bus stops just a few steps down from the Spencer. However, they are in the process of upgrading/remodeling some of the rooms. Construction starts at 8 a.m., so if you plan on sleeping late, forget about it. That really is the only reason i did not give them 5 stars. Generally most hotels close an entire floor to do this type of work. Unfortunately for us, we were the room wedged in between 2 active remodels going on at the time. However, our room appears to have been recently remodeled so i guess its worth the construction noise and clutter in the hall. Breakfast bar is amazing. Service is fantastic. Hoping to come back to Ireland in 2021 and will definitely stay here again (i'm sure the construction will be complete by then).

Yelp
Another in a long list of over priced Dublin hotels. I stayed in one of the "family rooms" which was spacious. That said, the room's heat did not function, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, dresser drawers were broken and hard to open. The front desk staff was "sorry for the inconvenience." Front desk staff was also very eager to charge our credit card for the stay as soon as we checked in. Decent breakfast each morning and they do have an indoor pool, which is a nice touch. If there isn't a huge price difference I'd recommend The Marker hotel, which also has an indoor pool and is close by.

Yelp
DREADFUL! I'd sleep on the street before staying here again. The online pictures are EXTREMELY misleading.... I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world, this one was BY FAR one of the worst !!! If you want a specific view or a balcony room that doesn't reek of smoke, ensure you REQUEST IT months in advance (in blood)... once again, the online pictures are VERY misleading .. the day of arrival... The pool is FRIGID and the jacuzzi, HA! (what jacuzzi!?) .... OUT OF SERVICE. The "family room" layout are inconvenient and odd and you WILL NEED 3 door stops to pee in the middle of the night , the feel of the room is ungodly cheap. I got shown a second room, due to my absolute HATRED of the dump I was given upon check in, that was overlooking the brick walls across the street that was dark and reeks of cigarette smoke as my alternative to the room I already hated. Day 2 We came back from a long day to a unserviced dirty room AT 7PM!! WTF!? ... I went to the desk, I was offered a drink for the inconvenience, (um a DRINK!?!! And that was like pulling teeth)... also, just save yourself the aggravation and don't ask the front desk staff for A THING, you're setting yourself up for immediate disappointment. For what they charge, look at other options and make this place the ultimate LAST, ROCK BOTTOM place you book. Honestly, the Dublin homeless shelter looked good after day 2... Ultimately the ONLY The only thing that this place has going for it is the location. Period. My holiday with my family absolutely was ruined. SAVE YOUR MONEY, Book Elsewhere! DREADFUL! Yelp
For the price, this place is not worth it. Lunch is really frustrating. When my colleague and I went down for lunch, they said lunch was not to be served for another hour and breakfast was done. They told us to go to a takeaway place across the street to get food. That is what we did. Then we came back to the lobby to work on a work incident and have a tea with the food they told us to get, and they yelled at us for not having outside food. Let me get this straight... You won't serve me food, you give explicit instructions where to get food, but i can't eat the food and order a tea? That makes no sense. If you don't want outside food, then serve food. (Also the room service is all day every day so clearly kitchen is open). Additionally, the staff was really rude. I am not from Dublin and do not know the area. When i asked about what was around, the lady just straight up told me to google it. I also asked what is the best way to get a Taxi at 3 am to the airport for a 5am flight. The lady snubbed me and told me to use some App I have never heard of. Luckily Uber exists and I was able to schedule that. I have stayed at some really ratchet hostels and have had better service. Lastly, the hotel was under construction and often had no hot water and was SUPER loud. The construction started at 7am. How the hell can this place be so expensive and yet be doing construction next to my room making racket at all hours? I would not recommend this place. If you are here for work for the conference center, go to the Hilton two blocks down. The reason I did not give this place a single star is because the room was clean and cleaned daily which was nice and the lady that did it was really sweet. Also when I did order room service on my first night, the girl that delivered the food was very sweet and professional. These two were the only professional people I ran into on my stay but they made it better.

Yelp
Definitely a really wonderful hotel! The Spencer is a bit more on the upscale side of the coin to stay at, but all in all, I thought it was well worth it! Check in was a breeze; I had emailed them a few weeks in advance for an issue I had since I was arriving so early in the morning (6am) but once I did, everything was settled so easily and quickly and I was in my room ready to take a nap, toot sweet! The rooms, while not as big as their usual American counterparts, are rather spacious compared to some other European hotels, so it wasn't too big of a deal. The bed big and comfy, there was a nice workstation should we need it, full length mirror, Nespresso machine and a rather large and spacious bathroom that was nice and clean. Breakfast ended up being included during our stay, and it was so well worth it! I'll forever dream of our breakfasts: those scrambled eggs, mushrooms, pork sausages, white and black puddings. All of it was amazing and delicious! Overall, this is a great hotel to stay at! One of the most convenient things about it is the fact that it is SO close to public transportation. Airlink 747 is right outside the hotel, so getting to and from the airport was such a breeze (and cheap!) The red tram is about 3 minutes away which made our trips so easy to get to! (Definitely get the Leap card while you are here.) Great hotel, fantastic location, great service and amazing breakfast! What more can you ask for???

Yelp
I was here before for a function and it was amazing. Now I am back for the Yelp Elite BBQ event and OMG ! 1* For the Staff : From the first moment I came in the hotel, the reception staff was super helpful. They directed me to the patio area and, once there, I was welcome by the Yelp Community Manager and The Spencer Events Managers. So nice ! 1* For the Space : It's the patio area on the left side of reception. So much space and such a cool area ! People can seat in different booth and they even are blankets if you get a bit cold. 1* For the Food : The BBQ is amazing. Burger, sausage rolled in bacon, mixed salads, fish, everything tasted beautifully ! Desert is champagne cristals. Well, it leaves me speachless... 1* For the Event : The Spencer booked a DJ for the event. I am happy that it is not too loud and the type of music is pretty cool too ! All the Yelp Elites are professional as usual, snapping away, reviewing away, chatting, and tasting. I think I'm going to organize my birthday party here ! #revelation 1* For the Organization : Everything is running smootly ! The best event ever :D

Yelp
Had a cup of coffee here whilst waiting for the bus.Nice, spacious and comfortable outdoors seating area. Good service and great coffee! Great location, within walking distance to everywhere you want to go in Dublin City centre.

Yelp
Location isn't great, but it isn't bad. It's very close to the city train, so if you're comfortable with using city trains and a bit of walking then it's not bad. There isn't good food close, so you'll need to take the train, cab, or make a long walk for a proper dinner. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but Asian fusion was not what I want on a two day stay in Dublin (Dublin has amazing food food). On a plus, the rooms were cute, clean, and adequate. Best part was having a balcony to sit out on and drink a glass of wine while over looking the river.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Stayed here for one week during a work trip and overall it was a great stay. The room was pretty standard and had all the usual stuff that you find in a hotel room. They room was clean and very well kept. The location of the hotel is great, walking distance to most of the main attractions in the Dublin area. We ended up renting a car on our last day and they do have some spaces in a nearby garage to park in which is nice as well. You do need to pay for the parking, but I figured that is expected. We had a small issue with our room and casually brought it up with a worker, next thing you know the Manager and Maintenance guy is at the room trying to fix it. We did not expect this to happen, but shows the dedication they had to making our experience a great one. Overall when I am back in Dublin, I would love to stay here again.

Julie O.

Yelp
Very modern hotel in the financial district in Dublin. A bit out of the way of the tourist stuff, but with the Luaus a block away, it is easy to get anywhere from the Spencer. Front desk was not able to accommodate our early check in request; bummer. They were helpful and checked our bags. Our room was nice. Not large, but clean with updated décor.

Yelp
My review of this hotel is coloured by the indifference shown to a handicapped member of our travel party. I issue this as a warning to anyone with a disability that is traveling in Dublin and considering this hotel. Let me start by saying that The Spencer is a nice choice for a hotel that is walkable for most of central Dublin. It's location is across the river and out of the fray from the most touristy areas. That, we discovered, was a welcome retreat from traffic and people to an extent. But its real value was the price, almost 250Euro less expensive than the Westin. Our room was a king with a nice big bathtub and shower. Good size, and well kept. That's where the romance with this hotel ends. It's not at all a "boutique" hotel. It's a large high-rise. Arriving by car is not recommended. Parking for this hotel is difficult at best, and extremely expensive. We were traveling with two friends, one of whom was confined to a wheelchair due to a recent broken leg and surgery. Her husband had clearly requested a handicap accessible room, noting that a roll-in shower was of prime importance. With a confirmation email from the hotel in hand, we arrived to find out that they were simply assigned a king room without accessibility. A number of indifferent desk agents told them they'd "try to have something ready in a few hours". It was 11PM that evening before they found out there would be no accessible rooms available for them for their stay. It was obvious that they had taken some of these rooms and assigned them to hotel VIPs, since accessible rooms are typically larger and many will consider them an upgrade. In fairness, the night manager put them in a large suite for the night, but it didn't solve their problem. The hotel manager the next day was kind, but it was still after 6PM on the second day where they found them a room where the lady could bathe effectively. The manager sent a bottle of wine with her compliments. My friends accepted it graciously, but the hotel should have comped one night of their stay. Just fair warning to anyone with accessibility issues - the hotel didn't stand by what they put in writing. While we appreciated the gestures of management, a bottle of wine and some rose petals doesn't comfort someone who is disabled and feeling like an inconvenience to the hotel. There's a Hilton Garden Inn with comparable rates just a few steps up the street that I'd recommend first before ever sending anyone to the Spencer.

Mia O.

Yelp
I stayed in suite 501 (riverside view) for seven nights. Immediately, I could tell that the room was very worn out and had seen a lot of use. The room itself was cleaned well enough, however, I did not feel like I was staying in a 4-star hotel and there is nothing "boutique" about the Spencer. The sound-proofing on the windows is non-existent and I could hear everything from outside, both in the hotel hallways as well as the traffic noise outside. Room 501 is right beside offices such that if you look out the window to the left, you are looking directly into office cubicles.. about 4-5 meters away from you. The WiFi was really spotty and kept dropping every 10-15 minutes in the evenings. Overall, it didn't feel like a very upscale hotel and I wouldn't stay here again.

Yvonne D.

Yelp
Stolen Items from my room. I had a very expensive rain jacket stolen from my room. I understand that sometimes things happen, but I would never recommend this hotel due to the way they handled this issue. I was told that my item would be replaced after an investigation. A month later I have yet to hear back about my replacement. Secondary to the stay- the "Spa" area is quite moldy.

Tim R.

Yelp
Modern hotel with spacious rooms, great lobby bar, and big gym complex with a pool. Some rooms have balconies. The staff was helpful and friendly. The Wifi worked good. The location is a 20 minute walk from the central tourist area but the bus stop is in front of the hotel and light rail is half a block away. The airport bus stops in front of the hotel as well.

Angela K.

Yelp
A great modern hotel in Dublin about 10-15 minutes away from the Temple Bar and all the great pubs. It's not far from a new museum called "Epic Ireland" (which happens to be inside a large building with many shops/restaurants) that is just fantastic for any history lover to visit. One of the hotel's side streets also has restaurants to choose from as well as it hosts its own Asian-Irish Fushion restaurant. Inside the hotel, it's nicely decorated with air conditioned rooms (never take this for granted in even the most expensive hotelsin Dublin) with a large enough space to move and unpack (also something that is lacking in many older hotels). The staff was very quick in checking me in and very accommodating with any questions or concerns I'd expressed. My sleep here was quiet and comfortable. Definitely planning on checking in again should I come back to Dublin in the near future.

JUSTINE M.

Yelp
Great experience. Our hotel room had a wrap around deck that viewed the Liffey River in front of our bed. Each morning and night, it was nice to have coffee or a glass of wine on our balcony and just look over the city and waterfront. The vast majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, modern and walking distance from everything. Breakfast each morning was delicious with a good selection of hot, cold, and fresh food and beverages. I had room service a couple of nights and there was a good variety of asian fusion, American, and desserts. There were a good variety of gym classes guests were able to sign up for. I took the yoga and body pump classes.

Shelley O.

Yelp
I've only been for drinks, will have to try the food one of these days. They've a nice selection of cocktails at 10 euro. They don't seem to skimp on the booze so I'm more than happy with the drinks. Nice comfy surroundings, its a nice place to chill out and have a drink.

Adriano P.

Yelp
In our stay in Dublin we used the spencer for 4 days. Place was clean , rooms were big and Comfy. They have a good breakfast downstairs, also pool and jacuzzi inside. Room service food was a little limited. Service was good. Overall is a very nice hotel, close by many cafes, and Restaurants.

Tim B.

Yelp
We spent the midpoint day of our trip taking the Irish Rail from Cork to Dublin, arriving at Heuston Station at about noon, hired a taxi, and rode along the north side of the River Liffey, cabdriver professionally weaving his way through traffic to deliver us safely at our destination. And it was a day of modernity for us - granted, we had purchased first class tickets for our journey, so we were in relatively good spirits to start, but the Spencer really was a good place to sleep, even if we were there for just one night. Fully air-conditioned, spacious room, comfy beds - pretty much every aspect one requires to put us in a good mood. Dropped off our bags, took in some sights, then returned to use the gymnasium located on the basement level - damn, this place was busy. Apart from my suggestion that the signage could be a bit more clear, it was everything one could ask for at a hotel gym (although apparently one could buy memberships there as well - I wonder how many office bees in the area take advantage of this) - I spent about 30 minutes in the pool/hot tub area winding down and getting ready for dinner. Sleep was everything you could ask for - not disturbed by any outside goings-on. My only regret was that we didn't get the buffet breakfast, although to be fair, we had to get to the ferry early the next morning, so that would have been rushed. We checked out, successfully called a taxi, and were on our way. The Spencer, although a bit away from the heart of Dublin, is a more than adequate choice for your lodging needs in this area.

Laura P.

Yelp
Clean, very quiet, comfortable. Staff are amazing - I got very sick on the flight over, and they helped call for a doctor for me, and kept checking back to see if the doctor had called, if I wanted them to call another dr., if the nurse had called, if I needed anything, etc. (The nurses are on strike and the healthcare system overloaded). Also a healthcare clinic and pharmacy just behind the hotel. Great place if you need to sleep in, but the breakfast is great bargain and very tasty (all you can eat full Irish breakfast). Pool is nice, with a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, floaty noodles and boards for swimmers, very nice covered patio for smokers.

Kate S.

Yelp
Nice. A short walk from the main drag so it's quiet at night. Service was great, super friendly. The breakfast was delicious, my son ate his weight in pancakes, eggs and bacon. Pool was nice after a day of walking around and the hot tub didn't hurt either. Right on the bus line from airport.

Buddy C.

Yelp
I had a great three day weekend stay here and would recommend it to those travelling to Dublin for its location and value. The location is ideal. Right on the north side of the River Liffey. Several grocery / mini marts within 2 minutes walking. The Air Link 747 bus (bus from airport to the city center) will drop you off right across from the hotel (and it's only the 3rd or 4th stop after leaving the airport) and conversely can pick up the Air Link to head back to the airport, which is a 20 minute ride, if that) There is also a Dublinbikes station across the street from hotel which makes getting around the city a breeze. (note you will have to walk to another Dublinbikes location that accepts credit cards in order to buy a 3 day pass. after which you will get a code and can access the one across the street from The Spencer and all others) You are a brisk 10-15 minute walk from Grafton Street, Trinity College, Temple Bar area, St Stephens Green. The room is clean, modern and relatively spacious. Bed is high and comfortable. One hiccup would be the wifi could be spotty at times. Not often though. I was lucky and was placed in room 703 which is the top floor with a wrap around balcony with head on views of Dublin. I took down the TV that rests on the desk and put in it closet so wouldn't block the views from the bed. Waking up and seeing the town come to life and hearing the seagulls was a real treat. My package also came with complementary breakfast at The Pantry restaurant (located on ground floor of hotel) and it was excellent. A buffet of fresh fruit, juices, pastries, coffees and teas along with a hot bar of sausage, potatoes, baked tomatoes and mushrooms, eggs, porridge and much more. Great way to fill up before heading out for the day to explore. The restaurant staff and ambience of the restaurant was on point. The shower pressure was strong and always hot water. Would recommend that management upgrade their toilet paper. (a bit cheap in my opinion) I've read other reviews about noise. Folks, you are in a major city, you might hear some noise. But if you turn on the central AC it blocks out most of any noise out. Slept like a log every night (a few pints of Guinness before may have helped ;) Check in and check out was swift with competent hotel staff. Looking forward to staying again.

Alan B.

Yelp
Been here a few times and the staff have been fantastic. The food is incredible. The chef Eric is malay and makes the most amazing food. Try the ayam panang or the chilli chow mein. Both have the tumeric battered chicken which is imense! The cocktails are great in the bar too. A few classics with some of their own with a modern twist. It used to be called kudos bar and restaurant before the rebranding of the hotel to the spencer. Has increased its popularity 10 fold and is so much more appealing ti the eye these days.

Olivia F.

Yelp
Were were booked for 5 nights, but we checked out today (3 days early) for the following reasons discussed with the very rude and uncaring Manager at the front desk: 1. The room smelled like cigarettes 2. The bathroom sink constantly leaks 3. The shower leaks 4. There is water damage and mold in the bathroom 5. The heat does not work in the room 6. The house keeper kept leaving our windows open, letting the cold air into the room. 7. Someone walked into our room yesterday without any knocking or notice. She was holding a clipboard. I do not know why she was in our room. 8. There is loud construction going on outside of our room which was not relaxing at all. 9. There was no notice given that the spa, pool, hot tub, sauna, gym, and steam room were open to the public, so every time we tried to use the facilities, they were jam packed with people and loud kids. There was no room for the hotel guests to relax. 10. The elevator was broken and we had to take the stairs every time we wanted to use the lift because the one that was operational was always full of people. 11. We went downstairs to eat the breakfast but all of the tables were dirty and there was no clean tables to sit at. Also, after we waited 10 minutes for a table, we were eating breakfast and the lady working told us we needed to leave even though we hadn't finished our meals. 12. I went to the "health club" to simply look at the amenities, and the man at the counter told me I couldn't look at it/get a tour, he said I could just look through the window. 13. The overall conditions of the hotel are bad. There appears to be a serious management issue. 14. There was a weird alarm that was going off on our floor 15. The furniture and the room were clearly not kept up. There was scuffed walls and furniture. It did not feel like a luxury or boutique hotel. 16. The "zen Garden" was not existent. there was a huge construction site. in the hotel grounds Level. We did not feel like the price we paid for the 2 nights were worth the actual value of this hotel. We feel we got a 2 star experience for a 5 star price. We were paying almost $400 a night for a very mismanaged hotel experience.

Heather S.

Yelp
Love this place. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great buffet breakfast. Staff was amazingly friendly and helped with all questions and provided information about local attractions and easiest way to get to the airport. Rooms were clean and modern...with A/C. We slept really well and will consider staying here if ever in Dublin again!

Yelp
As a former client of the old Clarion hotel, and a big fan of The Morgan hotel in Temple bar, I was delighted to hear last January that the Fitzpatrick group had taken over the Clarion and were re-branding. Having worked in the IFSC for over 6 years, The Spencer Hotel has breathed new life into what was a very tired building. The company I worked for hosted their relaunch there last July and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met for the day. Everything from the meeting rooms, lunch in 'The Pantry' and the BBQ were fantastic and I would HIGHLY recommend The Spencer to anyone for business or pleasure. The cocktails are amazing and I love the new cocktail bar and seating area. We'll be back!

Yelp
I did not stay here but I work in Dublin City Centre And I get the bus every day right outside this hotel. Two days ago I needed to use the bathroom so easiest place to go was the hotel I walked in and asked the reception could I use the bathroom really quick and she said "yes of course go ahead" so that was all perfect I used the bathroom and got my bus. Two days later I walked into the same hotel as I needed to use the bathroom again. This time there was a man and a woman standing on the inside of the door so I walked up and asked is it ok if I use the bathroom and the response was "no it's only for hotel guests" and then they asked are you a guest..If I was a guest I would not have asked to use the bathroom so the staff also have a lack of common sense. I then said I used the bathroom here 2 days ago and the reception had no problem then then said "well tonight the bathroom is only for guests.. Great to know there policy changes within 2 days and the policy that they decided to change was whether public could use there toilets There was also a bar in the hotel which people from the street were coming in to drink in yet I coudent use any bathroom RIDICULOUS CARRY ON

Yelp
The Cocktail Bar here isn't bad at all for a hotel. Somewhat soulless and with careless service, sure, but it's comfortable and versatile enough. It's roughly divided into three different spaces. Some seating outside by the front door, the bar counter and an open plan with ample tables and comfy sofas inside, and finally - my personal favourite - an inner courtyard with heating and partially covered lounge space. You get to choose from a comprehensive selection of cocktails, which turns out to be very hit and miss quality-wise, and this can leave a bitter taste in your mouth as they don't come cheap. On a brighter note, you'll also find on the menu some craft beers, which makes for a pleasant surprise. If you're around this part of town, this is a safe bet if you're looking for a quiet, understated place to have a drink in more elegant and comfortable surroundings.

Yelp
The Spencer is perfectly located along the River Liffey and walkable to everything including the Borg Gais Energy Theater, Grafton Street and Temple Bar. I like to walk when I'm on vacation, some people may not agree that it's walkable to everything - that's a matter of preference. The Spencer was just a brief half block walk from the airport bus stop, clean, quiet, comfortable and I must say, the best toilet paper that I've encountered on this planet! The bed was one of the two most comfortable I've ever encountered in a hotel. I would caution there is a lively bar in the hotel, if your floor is right above it, you may want to ask about the noise level.

Yelp
Loved the chill out music the dj was playing! We popped in for a much needed after work drink. Prices were normal, not exorbitant. Fab drink menu with some creativity- not just the standard. Mercifully, it wasn't just the same old tired 2002 martini menu- not a flirtini or 'porn star martini' in sight! I had a particularly amazing dark rum based drink. I'm giving four stars only because our waitress forgot to bring our second round for about 20 minutes.

Yelp
Modern hotel in the financial district. Fun decor, fine breakfast easy rooms. Great to get to from the airport shuttle (stops directly in front of hotel). We arrived super early and although we couldn't do an early check in, we were able to have breakfast and work out in the gym which is awesome- I would book this hotel just for the the spa and gym. I did a swim and then lifted weights and relaxed in the sauna. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Everyone checked in to make sure I was having a good experience- but they weren't overbearing and when my husband came looking for me, the attendant came in the locker room to find me! The rooms were small but comfortable. The shower clean and the bed was great for a much needed rest. It wasn't in the middle of the the touristy things but we walked to Guiness, Jameson, Trinity, Christ Church etc. It was nice not to be in the college student center of things. We're city people so walking a mile or two isn't a big deal for us. If it is, take a bus. View was great. I'm ready to return and begin vacation again! The hotel bar is hopping so if you want a quieter room...say so!

Yelp
Wonderful hotel! Everyone, from check in, restaurants, room service and housekeeping are outstanding. I booked our stay here for the family sized rooms, which can be hard to come by in Europe. We were not disappointed. Our kids slept 15 hours the first night (we slept 13 which has never happened before). Amazing dinner at East (in the hotel) the evening before then fell in to bed in rooms with blackout curtains that kicked the jet lag right out of us. Having spent the day in around College Green, we could not wait to get back across the river to our hotel. Hotel is in a busy area, but not insane. College Green was like midtown NYC. Nuts and overrun (Aka The Walking Dead quarry scene). IFSC is a great location to walk everywhere (15-20min max).

Yelp
Much as I love this place for cocktails after work, a recent lunch left lots to be desired. Terrible service - the staff were doing their best not to catch our eye - and an inexcusable wait for our food, along with some order mix ups, left a bad taste in our mouths. But we'll give it another go and I'll report back on how we get on!

Yelp
Stayed at the Spencer while I was in Dublin for meetings at Trinity College and the convention center. The location is very good but what set the Spencer apart was the wonderful staff. We were warmly greeted and staff went out of their way to ask after us and to assist. Rooms were very clean, spare, but we had everything we needed. Nespresso in the room was a plus.

Yelp
The Spencer Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful with all of our questions. The room was larger than I expected and very clean. We had a balcony with a view of the river. It was very enjoyable to drink coffee while sitting on the balcony. The hotel was about 10 - 12 minutes walk from the Temple Bar area and most tourist attractions. The breakfast was great and the service equally as good. I would gladly stay again at the Spencer should I return to Dublin.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel, with very comfortable beds and nice staff. The reason I'll never stay here again is the electrocrap music coming from the keyboard near the dining room. Breakfast and dinner, this screeching was so horrible and loud that we couldn't eat in the restaurant. If you're looking for a peaceful stay after your day in Dublin, stay elsewhere.

Yelp
We came here for a family meet up before Christmas, it was so busy but the staff were still really attentive to our party and nothing was missed. All the food was lovely..we had a particularly good waiter called Paul, it was such a busy night, but he could not have been better, he was fan and paid so much attention to our little party guest. The only drawback was that the music was quite load and we would have preferred it to be quieter, but it was the last Friday before Christmas, and there were a few functions on so that may have explained that. In fairness, that would have only affected a large group. All round, I wou the recommend it.

Yelp
Everything about this place has been fabulous- food, drinks, atmosphere, cleanliness, and location. The service was really excellent no matter who helped us. I highly recommend this place. The breakfast buffet has a full Irish breakfast & the lamb stew at East Restaurant was outstanding!

Yelp
Stayed here for a conference at the convention center. Clean, nice room, pretty good included breakfast but could work on the fruit quality. And the scrambled eggs.

Yelp
Had an issue with the hotel bill. When I attempted to get it resolved with manager on duty she told us we misunderstood. Can't believe the rudeness of this woman to say I misunderstood. That's how they deal w issues at the Spencer when they arise!

Yelp
Really like this place! Their gym is one of the best hotel gyms I've ever been to - huge, loads of varied equipment and very clean. Also, shout out to Louise from the gym - she's an awesome personal trainer. She really pushes you but also makes each session unique and is tuned into what you're looking to accomplish.
