"Deep Colors Meet Exotic Spices Spice Route is a heavenly experience where deep colors meet exotic spices. Located in the grand Imperial Hotel, I found the restaurant to be one of the most visually stunning places I’ve ever seen. Restaurants in 5-star hotels are generally known to display lavish and extravagant decor, but this restaurant is on a whole new level. It feels as if you have walked into a dark forest with rich gold branches and heavenly waterfalls, and a pervasive aroma of mysterious spices to match. It’s an escape into nature. And it’s not as if the stunning decor is trying to compensate for the poor quality of food. The food is absolutely scrumptious, offering food from all the places that fell under the ancient spice route, from the Malabar Coast of Kerala to the shores of Thailand. I think it’s one of the very few restaurants in Delhi that has amazing Keralan food. The restaurant is really romantic, making it a perfect place for a date. It is very upscale and they are quite serious about implementing a strict dress code. It’s even rated as one of the top restaurants by Condé Nast Traveler. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s an experience!"

A sheer extravagance for senses and food. We went there for birthday celebration. The first thing you notice as you enter the imperial is sheer opulence and sense of luxury. The resturant is one of many inside the hotel offering cuisine across the world. The resturant is themed asian history with walls depicting painting from central asia. Food menu is well curated with something for everyone. We ordered chicken puffs and kerala side prawans as appetizers. The puffs were just average however prawns were amazing. Next on table was the roasted duck leg, the meat was well cooked and glazed however the salad serverd with it was too salty which spoilt the taste, chicken noodles were amazing and must try. The staff was kind enough to serve us with mango chia pudding when we complained about the duck dish. Over all visit here for sheer sense of royalty and luxury, however food can be a hit and miss.

had initially written a review on TripAdvisor right after our visit to The Spice Route, purely based on the warm hospitality and staff behavior, especially Tei, who went out of her way to accommodate us at the last minute. We truly appreciated her efforts. However, I feel it’s important to update my review based on what followed. Unfortunately, both my wife and I fell severely ill after dining here—vomiting all night. This was extremely unexpected and disappointing, especially from a restaurant that operates within a 5-star hotel and carries such a reputed name. One does not expect such poor food standards from an establishment of this level. The experience turned out to be not just unpleasant but physically distressing. I hope the management takes this seriously and looks into the hygiene and quality of the food being served. It’s unacceptable to have such outcomes from what’s supposed to be a premium dining experience.

Embarrassingly terrible food. I spent 8K for our dinner and the two curries we ordered came with the same gravies, but just different meats. I say it’s embarrassing because the interior is gorgeous and service is good as well, but the main point is to have good food. It was flavorless. I’d even go to the lengths of saying it’s dishonest to serve to food like this at such high prices.

A wonderful dining experience, the restaurant is located inside the Imperial hotel, delicious Thai food and stunning antique and authentic decorations representing the journey of life. You get the dining area passing trough 16th century pillars which represent the beginning of our journey, the space between the pillars is for one person to remind us that we come alone in this world .. there is family area, love, fortune.. and end of our days where our ancestors are looking and waiting for us. The food was spectacular! Highly recommend for business, romantic and special events.

The food was amazing, I never imagined that I would like coconut based soup but I fell in love with it. More than the food, the restaurant tour was the highlight of the night for all of us. If you visit the spice route don't forget to ask for the tour. They have ancient relics and wall paintings throughout which are placed in a way to string up a really nice story which relates to the Hindu epics both Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Amazing experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had visited them for my wife's birthday and had made a few requests which were followed wonderfully well. Special thanks to the maitre d' for her attention to detail and being an excellent host. The food was also delectable. Must visit.

The service here was very good, you are always attended by at least two staffs. The decor however was over the top, too much to handle. I felt like everything has been put up into this one place, however, this is my personal opinion. There are people who would love this. I found the restaurant expensive. I ordered Tiger prawns cooked on pepper and Cilantro. The food i must say is Delicious, the prawns were cooked right. Staying in Thailand for 5 years i know how different Thai foods can taste outside Thailand. But this was just right, so 100 points for that.
