Great food, super atmosphere, well stocked bar with one of the best views ever - whether you're outside or inside the are stunning views across the Firth of Clyde. Super friendly service, you'll always feel welcome. Lovely comfortable rooms if you need to stay.

Another wonderful visit to the Spinnaker, with family ranging from 15yrs to 77. Lovely rooms, exceptional food with a very varied menu at great prices. The staff are friendly and efficient and go out of their way to make your stay very enjoyable. The views across the Clyde are fantastic with wonderful sunsets. The dolphins even made an appearance one evening!

We were on a family trip/tour of Scotland and The Spinnaker Hotel was recommended as the "True Scottish experience," and I must say the recommendation was great.||The staff at the hotel is exceptional and accommodating. My husband was quite ill and they delivered food to our room and helped in various ways. The kitchen produces good, hearty food. The breakfasts are excellent and included in the cost of the lodging. Since my husband was ill my granddaughter and I often ate all three meals in the comfort of the hotel (with the BEST views ever).||My only caveat...so sad to be right by the water, but not able to enjoy it from our rooms. We were at the back of the hotel and one room faced a wall, the other faced a driveway and some apartments. Quite dark. Our room, which faced the wall, was clean and the linens were very nice. We had a teapot in our room, but to use it we had to carry it across the room and set it on floor by a plug. The bathroom was small and clean, but cramped and not up-dated. Our grandaughter's room was more updated with a nice, big, shower and bathroom, a vanity area, lots of room for luggage and hanging clothes.||I understand, from talking to the staff, that slowly, but surely the entire hotel is being upgraded. I saw the end room upstairs and it is redecorated and redone. It is a big WOW! ||When you stay at The Spinnaker Hotel you feel like you're visiting a family. Enjoy every minute, walk the beach at low tide, and pick up sea glass!

We've been going to The Spinnaker for decades and we're never disappointed. The front rooms overlook the River Clyde and there's always something going on for the bird watchers and this time we met someone who was interested in the ships that go up and down. The rooms are always bright, fresh and clean. We always eat in house (in addition to the great breakfasts). The menu is varied and very reasonable. Good service and friendly staff. Good range of all types of alcohol with beautifully kept Guinness and Belhaven Black which are our personal favourites. We're looking forward to returning in May with some of the family ages from 15-77. All love it.

Lovely, friendly atmosphere. Service and food were absolutely outstanding. Despite the fact they were extremely busy, everything was perfect. Varied menu and great value for money. The Spinnaker never disappoints and I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent Sunday roast which is worth a visit just for that. If numbers mean it’s not available then get the steak pie which is equally as good. Great selection of drinks which staff very attentive and friendly.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Spinnaker in June 2024. We arrived and were shown to our upstairs room and found it extremely clean and tidy even though the building itself is reasonably old. The housemaid assured us that if we needed anything then just ask her and she would sort it. We wanted for nothing and the next thing was to go downstairs for dinner. The food was to die for, especially the Lentil and Bacon soup, it was extraordinarily delicious ... I even had it again the next day as well. We ate all our meals at the Spinnaker while in Gourock and found the food to be way above average. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we shall certainly stay there again when next in Scotland.

We called in for Sunday Lunch as ‘non-residents’ with our dog - made very welcome and there’s a large area of the dining room/bar which is dog friendly - great!

Yelp
A favourite downt the Clyde Coast, The Spinnaker has been filling bellies and quenching thirsts for years now. The perfect place to stop when on a long walk along the front of Gourock for a beer on a picnic table out front. The Spinnaker is a serious sun trap and on a beautiful day the place is mobbed with people, but in a nice jovial way! Get a nice, cold pint, or a glass of cool white wine and enjoy the company and the view. The food in here is pretty good as well. The lamb shank is cracking, as is the steak pie. And a wee tip, order from the specials board as they are ace, and the food is very reasonably pirced! For a beer garden in Inverclyde you canny beat it. In fact, now I think about it, what other beer gardens can boast stunning views of the gateway to the highlands!
