I decided to spend my birthday weekend at The Springs, since I was drawn by the 25 pools, 24/7 access when you book a room.
First impressions, I was not expecting all the construction which made checking in confusing. I saw plenty of people walking aimlessly trying to understand where the front desk was. Once we got checked in and into our room, it was a bit of a let down. Now I booked the cheapest room, which was in the motel section of the resort. (Still a whopping $900 for two nights) It felt cheaply renovated, definitely not worth the price. Our robes had stains, but thankfully we didn't have an issue asking for new ones when we flagged a staff member down outside the motel.
The springs themselves were always full throughout the day, even in 85 degrees, sun beating down weather. (It was July after all) Lots of kids and families, they usually end up taking up a pool for hours. Being up in the 18+ area is the best place during the day. However, once 9:30pm came around and all the folks with day passes left, it became prime time! I had a lot of fun hopping from pool to pool with only a few couples dispersed here and there. Probably the highlight of the entire stay. Some pools looked better than others, a couple of them had stagnant water which wasn't too appealing. Lots of slippery steps, being careful is crucial especially if you're older. Food and drink was overpriced, as you would expect. The churro was fantastic though.
Right below it would be the San Juan Essential massage I had! I had booked a 30 minute massage, but ended up coming out an hour later! Lol, hey wasn't mad in the slightest at that. It was a great experience, especially as it was my first professional massage. I didn't get to catch her name, but the massage therapist who attended me was phenomenal. If I had to rate the massage experience on its own, it would be 4/5. All the staff I ran into were very kind and courteous!
Overall, I'm not sure I would return. It didn't feel worth the 1k+, but I did my best to enjoy it for what it was.
