This was a very interesting venue. Most concert halls and amphitheaters that I have visited were more in an urban setting. This place made you feel like you were deep in the forest somewhere. The parking was easy. The actual lot on the premises is small so cannot accommodate all patrons. But the satellite parking they have implemented was a piece of cake. Within seconds, we parked, and were picked up by a shuttle and in minutes we were at the venue. Definitely the easiest in and out of a concert ever.
The staff and volunteers were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Being in a wheelchair, sometimes I can get swallowed up by crowds, but not here. Everyone was smiling, and for the most part was courteous and helpful. The lay-out of the arena was fabulous which made going to the restrooms, beverage booths, or food stalls a breeze. The generous pours on refreshments made the price tag less painful. We didn't realize that not only were The Motel's opening up for Pat Benatar, but so were The Vindy's. It's sad that even the boomer generation which made up most of the audience, STILL has not learned concert etiquette The Vindy's started jamming right at 6:30 pm. Unfortunately the amphitheater was maybe a 1/4 full. Most everyone still milled about, chatting and laughing, which unfortunately interrupted the folks, like us, who were actually seated and trying to listen to the band. I was surprised that the venue still was half empty when The Motels took the stage. What a shame. The sound was excellent and we really enjoyed the show. We certainly would return, but only in the cooler months. Our evening temps could not have been better. Wheelchair seating was located just where the overhang stopped. If it rained it would have been a wet, miserable time.
