My stay at The St. Regis Amman was truly exceptional and as I write this review, I’m day-dreaming about being back there. I visited solo during the Christmas holiday and was initially torn between the St. Regis, the Ritz-Carlton, and the Four Seasons. Choosing the St. Regis turned out to be the perfect decision and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
From the very beginning, the staff was incredibly communicative leading up to my arrival. There was a minor miscommunication regarding my airport pickup, so I took a taxi, unaware that a car had already been sent. Even so, once I arrived around 2:00am, everything immediately felt seamless. Before entering the hotel, guests pass through a security checkpoint and metal detectors at the entrance, which made me feel especially safe. As a solo traveler, that’s something I appreciated.
Upon arrival, the staff was warm, accommodating, and immediately made me feel at home. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. It was elegant, festive, and they even had a hand-made ginger bread house which took 3 months to make. It was real too!!
Now let’s talk food. The St. Regis Amman had several excellent dining options. I made it my mission to try them all. Each morning, I had breakfast at Mercado, which was a great way to start my day. The buffet was surplus, and the staff was consistently attentive, kind, and responsive to my needs. They also went above and beyond by offering thoughtful recommendations on what to see and do in Amman. I also dined at Zenith and Tamara and none of them missed a beat. Even “drinks” at the St. Regis Bar made me feel like I was back home in New York. It was very stylish, comfortable, and full of character like a good ole speakeasy.
One of the unique traditions at St. Regis properties is the nightly champagne ceremony at 6:30/7pm, where a staff member gathers guests, shares a few words, and opens champagne for everyone. While I don’t drink alcohol, I thoroughly enjoyed indulging in the hot chocolate. I ordered it on demand and this small touch made a big impression.
As for my room, it was incredibly spacious with a gorgeous view, and every detail was well thought out. Room service and turndown service were impeccable, and I appreciated the daily fresh fruit and water they dropped off. The gym was also far better than most hotel gyms I’ve experienced.
Above all, what truly made this stay unforgettable was the staff. I would like to give a virtual hug and thank you to Saed, Farrah, Alaa, Ahmed, Mohammed Tobk, and Khaled. Their care, professionalism, and genuine warmth elevated this experience beyond anything I expected.
I cannot wait to return to The St. Regis Amman. This hotel sets the standard for luxury, hospitality, and thoughtful service. I highly, highly recommend you book a stay here.
