The St. Regis Beijing

"This tower with a distinctive flat facade welcomes guests to its lobby with hand-painted ceilings and silk embroidery, before ushering them to rooms with cherry armoires, and Chinese silk upholstery. In addition to its great location in the diplomatic district, the property offers 24-hour butler service, a spa and swimming pool, and five restaurants including the casual Garden Court with a show kitchen cooking up Western and Asian food."

After 120 trips to Europe and multiple trips to Asia, I have had the opportunity to see what a top-shelf hotel is like. Until now, I thought my experience at the Four Seasons Georges V in Paris was the best but now have moved the St Regis Beijing to my number one spot. The primary reason for this was the simply incredible customer service provided by Steven, one of the concierges. He was proactive in providing valuable insight and information, and doing so in a way that made us feel that we were being treated as heads of state. It is no wonder that so many actual heads of state select this hotel. I have never been treated so well as I was by Steven, and I hope the St Regis realizes that having him there to assist guests is the single most valuable asset the hotel has. He is genuinely priceless. Thank you again to the St. Regis and Steven. You are the best.

I cannot recall how many times I have stayed at this hotel as it has been my preferred location whenever I travel to Beijing for business (and I am there at least twice a month). It is not my intention to go into details about so many things the team there is doing well. I just want to share a couple of points.||It is one thing hotels receive comments and recommendations for improvement. It is totally another when they actually take actions! Twice I made recommendations to the manager, and twice they actually made the changes! On my stay last year, I told the female manager at the cafe that they should NOT starch the napkins so much. When you starch them well, it is easier for them to fold them and present them on the table. But guests are not using them to wipe their mouths because they were just too damned hard! On my following trip there, they made the changes!||On another trip, I noticed, also in the cafe, there were sharp objects beneath the table that could cause damage to our clothes (and it did to my dress pants). On a following trip, they fixed that, too.||Among all the Bonvoy hotels in Beijing (believe me, I have tried them all), the team at St Regis is the most mature and the most professional. ||And then there is the gym! It must have been the best run gym in hotels in Beijing. Its pool, indoors, gives you the feeling of an outdoor one with lights coming from three directions.

We took a 6-day trip to Beijing and had a very pleasant stay at the St Regis in Beijing. Although the hotel is a little aged, it is situated in a very quiet and safe embassy area. We were welcomed by Ms Shine Yong and several butlers upon arrival-this is perhaps what makes St Regis stands out from others, their butler services. Ms Yong made sure that everything was fine with us and offered a lot of local information. ||Our rooms were upgraded and even though the rooms were a little dark, they were well maintained. We did come across a problem; the lights in my mum's room went out and the room turned pitch dark, luckily, we were there at the time and they came to fix it quickly. ||We visited the spa for massages one night and we enjoyed it so much that we went back the following night requesting for the same therapists- A big thank you to Lilian, Merry, Sally and Jin Jiarong for their wonderful services. A special thanks to Sophia Dong, who recommended various restaurants and also made reservations for us.

Stayed here while in Beijing for 3 nights on the American Express FHR program. We received an upgraded Junior Suite which had 2 rooms and a nice bathroom. Comfortable bed and linens. Room had every amenity. Rooms a little outdated compared to the St. Regis in Shanghai we were at. We ate 3 breakfasts in the Garden Court. Excellent service and many food options. We had a buffet dinner in the Gsrden Court which was my least favorite meal on the trip due to lack of service and ruining out of food options. We had a great 12 course dinner at the Celestial Court for Chinese food and had a late dinner at the Press Bar the last night after the Great Wall. All the food was covered by American Express. Service was very good but helps to help Google Translate. Nice gym and large indoor pool available along with a spa. Hotel in the embassy area. Platinum and above members have a cocktail hour with free drinks and appetizers from 6-7:30pm on the 18th floor. |At 6 pm there is a Champagne celebration to celebrate the day to night with free champagne and appetizers in the large lobby. Overall 5 stars though remember this hotel was built in 1997 and the rooms have not been updated as far as I know.

I can't stress this title enough. In all my travels around the world staying at many 5 star hotels, I have never interacted with such a world-class concierge better. My partner and I stayed at the St Regis in late July and had the pleasure of working with Steven Zhang from concierge. Steven is incredibly personable, knowledgable and so helpful!! We only had two days in Beijing, and when we told Steven all our target places we wanted to visit, he helped us map out our itinerary and took the stress out of planning for us. He went above and beyond and made our stay at the the St Regis a true 5-star experience. We learned some cool facts about the hotel and about Beijing. He has worked at the hotel for a long time and deserves all the praise! ||In addition to Steve, other members from the concierge team were top of the line, professional class acts, too. St. Regis Beijing as a stellar concierge team. I will absolutely come back and stay here the next time we are back in Beijing.

This is one of the best hotels I haver ever stayed. It is really a premium hotel. It was luxurious, the staff was very knowledgeable and diligent. Most of them spoke great English. Breakfast buffet was outstanding. It had a great variety of dishes. The person in charge of the eggs section was incredible, he got my order just right. Steven, one of the people in the lobby personally delivered my dinner to my room. The facilities were clean and really nice. My mother and I really loved your hotel. There is some room for improvement. For instance, the hotel needs some renovations. The age of some of the rooms started showing. Nothing major but it is a just a suggestion if this hotel wants to stay on top as a 5 star hotel in Beijing. Gracias for the amazing experience. The best hotel I have stayed in Beijing so far. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a safe, memorable, and unforgettable one.

Bonvoy Titanium member. ||Day staff and concierge are still great and helpful. Evening staff bit indifferent my checkin was most abrupt St Regis checkin ever. ||Lobby cafe closes early so late business meetings are difficult as also no business lounge. ||Carpets and rooms are a bit worn out. I even overhead a customer loudly complaining to the service desk. ||Does not come up to standards of other St Regis hotels. In this price range you have better BonVoy properties available like Ritz and JW.

I had a great trip at the St Regis, and the hotel is the opulence of Luxury! The Daily Breakfast was wonderful and I especially enjoyed the lounge area!||The concierge service was excellent especially Stephen and Neil. Stephen helped me to get tickets for a performance at the Red Theater and also charging cables , screen protectors and case for my iPhone. He also arranged massage for me and a VIP Dinner nearby! ||I also lost my passport and it turned out I dropped it in the lounge, but Neil went above and beyond calling the massage center and eventually tracked it down for me. Other Concierge’s I don’t recall helped me out on my screen protectors and ordering me taxis. ||Will definitely stay here again if I’m in Beijing and highly recommend this Hotel!
