The St. Regis Cairo (Cairo, Egypt) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Standing right on the Nile Corniche, in what might be the most prestigious location for a luxury hotel in the Egyptian capital, the St. Regis Cairo is nothing if not monumental. Inside, it’s as lavish a hotel as you’d expect from this venerable luxury chain, and though its style is meticulously tailored to its setting, its public spaces are as classically elegant as any hotel in the world. The rooms and suites are a touch more contemporary, though far from avant-garde; the in-room comforts are matched by a world-class spa and a selection of fine restaurants." - Tablet Hotels

I stayed at The St. Regis in December 2025 and overall had a very pleasant experience. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and offered a lovely view overlooking the pool, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I truly appreciated the welcome note and chocolates upon arrival, as well as the thoughtful complimentary attentions throughout my stay. Small gestures such as fresh juice served in the room and ginger-honey tea when I had a slight cold made a real difference and reflected a genuine sense of care. The breakfast buffet was one of the highlights of my stay. It offered a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes, and the quality was consistently very good. That said, there were a few aspects that could be improved. It was unfortunate that the reception is located on the 5th floor and this was not clearly communicated upon arrival, as no one informed us. In addition, while the staff was professional, I felt that the welcoming attitude could have been warmer overall. The dining room service was good but not particularly memorable; I have experienced much better in Egypt. Finally, housekeeping was acceptable but not always done to the level of perfection one might expect from a hotel of this standing. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, with many positive elements.

Absolutely loved this stay at St. Regis Cairo. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful and refined. The concierge team was outstanding: the wake-up calls, little check-ins, and attention to detail really stood out. It’s those small things that make a stay memorable for us. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, some of the best I’ve slept on. The overall atmosphere is very luxurious, and the staff were consistently polite and warm. I also really appreciated the complimentary room upgrade as a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member — thank you so much for that. The only minor downside is that the gym is quite small with limited equipment. Overall, a fantastic stay and one I would happily return to.

We arrived early, well before check-in time, and the staff at the front desk, Mr Marco Gergis was so polite that it was almost surrealistic. After taking our particulars he assured us a room soon, and even apologized for making us wait. While we were waiting another staff, Mr Omar Sharif from the front desk showed us the hotel facilities. What a brilliant way to occupy your time while waiting for the room.|Our room was an excellent room, reflecting St Regis standards. |We dined that evening at one of the the restaurants Mr Sharif had shown us - Sirocco, which served local fare. It was wonderful.|The next morning we explored the city. The location of the hotel on the Nile Corniche was excellent and we could walk along the Nile Corniche for hours and enjoyed the sights and the walk. Just opposite the hotel on the Corniche, by the majestic Nile, is a most elegant 4 to 5 meter tall statute, informally referred to as "the Bride of the Nile". See picture. The Corniche and the statute are well worth a visit. |That afternoon Mr Mohamad Alaa from the Concierge surprised us with some cakes and balloons as he had come to know that my wife and I were celebrating our birthdays in December. We had made no mention of this to anyone in the hotel.|It was the best 3 days of our time in Egypt. Thank you, staff of St Regis, Cairo.

Our stay was fabulous from beginning to end. This is a 50th birthday trip for me and there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a small birthday cake, a tray of sweets, and fruit waiting. I was completely taken aback! I've had acknowledgements and at best a few chocolates for my birthday at hotels before but a bouquet of flowers? Never! Service all around was great from the moment our driver pulled up to the moment they helped us into our van after checkout. The rooms are very well appointed and very clean. We were upgraded to a very nice Nile view suite. It was large and spacious. I really loved the layout of the room. We did room service the first night which was good and went to the steakhouse the next night which was phenomenal! We did use the butler service to press out our dinner outfits and it was taken care of quickly and expertly. We wandered around the hotel and took some amazing photos with the Christmas decorations. All staff were highly professional yet warm and friendly. The hotel is across the street from the corniche. If you can get across the street it's a nice area to stroll. The hotel itself exudes elegance from the moment you walk in. Because of our very short time there we didn't get a chance to use the pool or other amenities but hoping to do that on our way back through Cairo. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for this note and I wanted to share what a lovely stay we had at your hotel. The hotel, service, staff and experience are best in class! The service ranging from our arrival to the front desk to the butler service was excellent and the reason why we stay at St Regis hotels. The hotel detail was fantastic and service impeccable! It also was being decorated for the holidays and looked lovely. ||The concierge team was fantastic setting up our sight seeing and drivers. And, our driver, Moataz, was FANTASTIC! He was knowledgeable, caring and took care of us in every aspect of our tour! Cannot say enough great things about Moataz - you have a great employee!

It was our first time in Cairo and we were told this was the best place to stay. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. Our suite was not as clean as you would expect a hotel of this caliber to be, the carpets looked dirty, the doors had stains, the finishing in the bathroom tile corners, the mirror etc etc all looked old and untidy. On the other hand, the breakfast was amazing and had both Arabic and Asian cuisine. Unfortunately the service was lacking, a pot of tea ordered at breakfast would usually take 15-20 minutes. The location is good and our room and a good Nile view. We tried the spa and that was very good as well. This could be an amazing hotel if they could get a great housekeeping and service team. We generally enjoyed our stay.

We were looking for the best hotel in Cairo and were told this was the one. It was good overall, but not on a true top-tier level. The location is nice, with great river views, but the area behind the hotel is not very pleasant. The building itself is attractive and there is plenty of staff, but the service quality is inconsistent and not trained to international standards. Room service often got orders wrong (iced coffee served hot, diluted juice, wrong bread, missing items, etc.). On our last day, several celebrities arrived and the hotel became fully focused on them. I received multiple early-morning calls asking if I was still in my room—despite a confirmed 11 a.m. checkout and a “Do Not Disturb” sign. Security filled the hallway and regular guests were clearly deprioritized. A friend on the same floor was even asked to move rooms the night before, because his room was suddenly “needed.” Some entrance security staff were also unprofessional or unfriendly, insisting abruptly on additional checks even though other guards knew I was a hotel guest. On the positive side, the steakhouse was excellent—great food and good service. Compared to other hotels, the St. Regis is still one of the better choices in Cairo, and I might return due to limited alternatives. However, service and professionalism fall short of what you would expect from a true international top-level property or other St. Regis hotels worldwide

The St. Regis Cairo is the very definition of refined luxury, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the River Nile. From the moment you arrive, the hotel envelops you in elegance—soaring interiors, thoughtful design, and panoramic river views that make every moment feel special. There is a sense of calm confidence here, where luxury is never loud, but always deeply felt. A special acknowledgment must go to Alan Kodzasov, Director of Operations, whose warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for guests truly set the tone for the entire experience. His leadership is evident in every detail, and he is without question a tremendous asset to the St. Regis brand. Equally deserving of praise are Mohammed Nagah and Hussain in the bar area, who delivered impeccable service with grace and attentiveness. They made us feel like royalty—anticipating needs, remembering preferences, and serving with sincere pride and charm. As someone in the hospitality industry, it’s clear that the St. Regis Cairo doesn’t just offer luxury—it delivers luxury with love. This hotel raises the bar, not only in standards, but in heart. A truly exceptional experience that sets a benchmark for what world-class hospitality should be.
