Beware before doing any business here!
I discovered this new place a few months back and initially thought it sounded like a fun. I applied to be a vendor for one of their little monthly events in December for $75 (steep fee btw for what it is) which I was unfortunately unable to attend due to an emergency.
I emailed the provided contact person Chelsea 48hrs in advance and asked if I could possibly be reassigned to an event on a different month. NO RESPONSE. Tried to call the business number listed only to reach an unanswered line. I didn’t think much of it at the moment as they had openly been searching for vendors to fill empty spots for the event. Having done a lot of business in the area, not for a second did I think that they wouldn’t do the honorable thing.
Followed up a week later after NO RESPONSE still from Chelsea. I forwarded the email to the actual business email listed and NO RESPONSE AT ALL! How unprofessional!!!
After numerous unanswered emails and no way to reach them by phone I filed a dispute for the charge. I finally received an “angry” call from Nikki Nickerson the “owner” who proceeded to tell me how much she “hated” dealing with these types of things but wanted to get to the bottom of what happened. I thought hey, there might actually be some integrity to this business!!?? Not just take the money and then use avoidance tactics for customer service issues!!??
NOPE! I was wrong! Nikki Nickerson refuse to honor the refund and moreover refused to assign a different date and said that I would not be able to partake in any of their events as if I was the problem. Of course I would never want to do ANY business nor spend another cent here, EVER!
During the phone call Nikki even said that she had spoken to Chelsea about it the day of the event. So they were both aware in advance that there was a problem and instead of trying to resolve the issue or even respond they chose avoidance tactics and hoped the problem would just go away??!! I guess no issue for them right? They had my $75!!! I should have heeded the red flags & the tasteless mentions on the website of how much “money” there is on the Emerald Coast.
Beyond the rant, keep this in mind when choosing where to spend your money. Be sure the business operates with ethics & best practice principles.
There are a multitude of classy places on 30a to shop, and DOZENS of pop-up markets, farmers markets and artisan events. Choose wisely
Edit:
To clarify, my point of this review is to bring awareness to others based on my experience so that others can make an educated decision when choosing where to bring their business. You can take it however you choose. The facts speak for themselves.
Response to business:
1.) At no point in time did I ever mention being a “regular” participant of yours. That’s a LIE. In past 8 months that your business has been open this is the first, last and ONLY attempt I have made to partake in one of your events.
2.) Chelsea NEVER RESPONDED to my emails. Period. You can check your email records for that. No one ever responded to the email I forwarded to your business. Period. Again you can check your email records. No one answers your business’s phone line. Period. You can check your call records for that.
3) There were multiple vendor spots available for the December event. Selling my spot or not does not change that. Your refusal to at least reschedule me to any other month speaks volume though.
There is no fabrication or any sort. I know that, Nikki Nickerson knows that, and anyone else involved with this knows that. No matter how hard you try to flip the situation in your favor the facts speak for themselves.
Best wishes & good luck to you as well.
