I stopped by for supper on Thursday evening. I'm solo so I ate at the bar. Friendly, quick service and great food. I had Buffalo Wings as an app. Surf and turf tacos, beans and rice for supper. It was too much for me so I saved 2 tacos for lunch tomorrow. I got the carrot cake- awesome!!! Definitely try this place out. My 2nd or 3rd time here, first review

Google
We left our hotel because the breakfast was horrible so we did a search and found this place. What a lucky find! When we walked in they sat us right away and as soon as we were ready they took our order and our food came out quickly and prepared as ordered. I ordered an omelette and asked for it not dry and it was cooked perfect. And the potatoes were very good. The coffee was good and my brother was happy with his order. The prices were reasonable and the portions were good. We were able to pay at our table and we were in and out quickly to continue on our road trip. Great breakfast experience with good food and great service. They are proud that they were visited by Guy Fieri, and they have that advertised but that was not the reason I chose this place because I didn’t know about that until we got here. I thought that was pretty cool.

Google
5 starts!!!⭐ Excellent old fashion diner with a nice atmosphere, delicious food and attentive staff. Everything we ordered was great!

Google
Layout and decor are fun even before you get to the fact that this place was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (they have the episode looping on screens in the restaurant). Food quality is the kind that you'd feel good about putting on television. Cole slaw was nothing special, but the mashed potatoes absolutely were special; matzo ball soup was better than the average NYC diner. Fried chicken was delicious, pasta bolognese was good. Honestly, the best thing was the balsamic vinaigrette on the green salad, which was really fresh and tasty. We didn't see her up close, but there was a life-size Bluey walking around at some point? (After checking their website I see that this is a thing they do on Tuesdays, Dinner with Bluey!)

Google
Ordered the Meatloaf. Enough for two people and absolutely delicious. Also came with a generous salad with mashed potatoes and broccoli. All very good. For $23! Would come back here in a heartbeat. Staying at hotel around the corner. Great service. Great room. Generous with the air-conditioning too on a very hot night. Superb, attentive waiter too.

Google
Typical American Diner with great food and the ambiente you would expect. Chicken filet with mushroom sauce & asparagus was delicious. The Kentucky Burger with pulled pork and beef patty was also amazing. Unfortunately the turkey sandwich was a bit dry, but I suppose turkey is a dry meat. Topped the meal with oreo cheesecake, just yummie 😋

Google
Everything is good here, says next table regular Liz & John. And, they were right. We had what DDD's Guy had. Chicken matzo soup & open turky sandwich. All good even veggies for sandwich side. We also had chili appetizer done well, ove heated. Pasta nicely meaty. Oreo shake fair too. Standard diner fare, we would like to have next time.. Burger, panini... as well as signature dinners branzino, breakfast, deserts...

Google
I just wanted to share my recent dining experience with you. The food? Top-notch, no doubt about it. Service is great. But here's the thing, when I got the bill, I noticed something odd. The prices on the menu were a sweet deal, but charge three bucks more than advertised. In both regular menu and dessert menu. It's a real letdown when you're trying to enjoy a meal and you feel like you're being taken for a ride. Just makes me wonder what other corners they are cutting.

Yelp
Clean, comfortable and relaxing. Food was very good; fries are not greasy and portions were just right. Dessert counter has a lot of amazing choices - definitely grabbing some to go. Service was excellent- from the hostess greeting then seating us to the waiter and the staff, it was a pleasant experience. I live in NY now but come up to Stamford to see family at least once a month and to me the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely visit again.

Yelp
We walked in on a Sunday at 1pm and the place was jumpin. The parking lot was packed and we thought it would be a long wait but instead we were seated immediately! The restaurant is big and open so the noise level is very high- don't expect to have an intimate conversation. The food is so good though that you will be too busy chewing to talk. Everything we ordered was delicious

Yelp
Came here with a small group (six of us) after my friends' elopement, which made for a memorable post-wedding meal. The experience started off a little weird--when we walked in, the host asked to see my friend's wedding ring, I guess as "proof" of the marriage? Not sure what that was about, but we laughed it off and moved on. Service was solid--our waiter was friendly, and the food came out on time without any issues. The menu has all the classic diner staples, and while everything was decent, nothing particularly stood out. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a classic American diner. That said, prices are on the higher side (a shake is $17.99!), so don't come expecting a budget-friendly meal. Overall, a good spot for a casual meal with friends, minus the odd welcome at the door.

Yelp
Food was good for a diner, and portions were large. I ordered the crusted chicken, which I enjoyed. 2 fairly large pieces of crusted chicken on a bed of rice, with some veggies. Ample parking. Service wasn't the best. At first the waitress delivered me someone else's food (a chicken pasta). I told her that I didn't order that and she basically accused me of ordering it. The dish looked decent so I just accepted it. But at the end she realized that she made a mistake when there was an excess crusted chicken plate, and one guy on the other side of the table was missing his chicken pasta. She had a foolish look on her face, although no acknowledgement of her error. Knocking it down to 3 stars fro this whole episode.

Yelp
The service was great! We noticed right away that they were careful how they placed everything - no reaching across anybody. The food all came out together and was the right temperature (some of us got dinners and some of us got salads). The soup of the day (clam chowder) was delicious, but significantly smaller than the matzoh ball soup - both came with dinner. The French fries were good, but too crispy for my taste. The ice tea tasted fresh and they refilled it. I'm sorry we didn't save room for the amazing looking desserts. The restaurant and bathroom were both very clean. This place was once on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. They have the episode playing on a loop on a TV in the dining area. It was fun to watch. This place is exactly what I'm looking for when I go to a dinner.

Yelp
The Stamford Diner is by far my favorite restaurant. My wife and I have been going their for at least once a week for decades. The food is Great and is equally matched by the service and the fun atmosphere. It is a great date night place, or to meet up with friends or just go and relax. Their take out is really good too. Laura, and Uri and everyone else are really nice. I highly recommend the chocolate pot de crème for desert. They also do really good steaks.
google avatar

Arren F.

Yelp
They have fantastic food, impeccable service and a great ambience- clean and spacious!

Yelp
Excellent service. Large portions. I would definitely be returning some time in the near future

Yelp
Went for Brunch with my son and father in law and it never disappoints!! Nothing like it and the portions are amazing! they have great service and you never have to worry about being underserved because all the waiters are great. the food is always delightful and delicious. Bring your big boy/girl appetite! I love how they handle having big crowds without a hitch. The burger is beyond juicy and oozing with flavor just go do it and stop counting calories!! Just enjoy yourself!! Tell them I sent ya!

Yelp
Love the breakfast food here. I gotta really come back and try lunch or dinner. This is one well-run machine - service is better than any diner I've ever seen. It's a pretty big place and the tables are great for some privacy. A favorite!
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
The Stamford diner is always a good choice! It is clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. They have a decent brewed coffee ( when I say decent I mean WAAAAAY better than typical diner coffee). They have traditional menu with some nice unique additions
google avatar

Yelp
The Stamford Diner has a cute, eye-catching sign and looked like a place to get a classic breakfast. But the food and service fell a little short. The service was distracted and the omelette I got was wayyy overcooked. I liked the home style potatoes and the latte I had. So it was a very mixed bag.

Teague C.

Yelp
This is a great go-to for breakfast. We've had California Burrito, eggs Benny, eggs florentine and I tried the Corned Beef Hasher for the first time yesterday. All were great!

Yelp
So, this place is famous due to Guy Fieri. That should set your standards somewhat: this place is definitely an American sort of eatery, very straightforward and tasty, very traditional, lots of food. The kind of place that American grandparents like. The price is a bit higher than you might find at a traditional diner due to the fame, but that's really the only difference between this place and a relatively nice NYC-style diner. I liked everything I had here, and I really don't understand the complaints from other patrons. This is not a Michelin star place - what you order is exactly what you get, no unnecessary fanciness - but you get a LOT of food, and it's pretty tasty. You could easily bring kids here and they'd be totally happy.

Yelp
The initial impression was positive but it failed to live up to that impression. Also this place seems to me, massively overpriced. $42 for 1 tea, a Western omelet, and a Mexican Omelet. When you first enter, you are greeted with multiple notices about how they were featured on some Food Network show about diners and dives. The decor is colorful and the place looks shiny and clean. Everything after that is mediocre at best. When we visited there were few customers - they did not appear to be particularly busy. The staff were nice and polite but not particularly engaging or doing anything that stands out in a positive or negative way. Typical for a diner. The seating looked comfy and in good condition but was in reality a typical hard bench with minimal cushioning - minimal enough that you probably would not notice if it wasn't there. Less comfortable actually than in many other diner's I've been in. The service had only one real negative. My daughter was asked what cheese she would like in her Western Omelet and was given several choices. What wasn't disclosed is a $1 surcharge for cheese. A surcharge for cheese .... on an omelet (in fairness it does say that in the menu in small print but the waitress should have mentioned it since she offered it). Beyond that, the service was fine. It did not stand out in any positive or negative way. With the exception of the chili on my Mexican omelet, our food seemed to be unseasoned and bland. It tasted ok with some salt. It wasn't particularly bad, but I couldn't call it good either. The portion size was good though. Finally, as mentioned at the start, this place was *expensive*. That price did not reflect the value of what we received in any way - ambiance, service, food taste. We won't be returning.

Yelp
Best diner I've been to in years - and I'm from Jersey! Pepe was outstanding- Could not have been more friendly or attentive. Menu options are staggering. Can't wait to try them out for breakfast!

Yelp
Wow this place was awesome. First time there, we had lunch served by Diane (So helpful) we had surf and turf tacos and Italian pannini. Great food and service.

Yelp
Picked The Stamford Diner from Yelp review and it was A+. I had no idea that was featured on Guy Fieri's Diner, Drive In's, & Dives. That was a treat and I can see why it was featured. The diner was bustling for the Saturday morning brunch hours. We had breakfast, but you can have anything your heart desires basically. If you can't find anything here, you're a picky eater. There is something for everyone. My Turkey&egg white omelette was perfect with the side of house potatoes and rye buttered toast. The caramel macchiato was delish too. Looking forward to visit again when in Stamford, gotta try the Cannoli French Toast that was calling my name next time.

Yelp
This restaurant was featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The outside of the restaurant is really cool (has a large coffee cup!) The parking lot was really crowded for a Thursday morning and I was sure we would have to wait, but thankfully, we were seated right away (since the diner is large and has a lot of seating). We were seated in a nice secluded booth close to the bar. I ordered a Pineapple Juice and the Banana Walnut Pancakes. They were absolutely delicious!!! It was so filling, I couldn't eat the entire thing (only half). The bathrooms were a little odd, but the music was piped in the speaker which was nice. Our waiter was really attentive and friendly which was awesome.

Yelp
This is a favorite of mine for any time of the day. We went for breakfast yesterday and Eli gave us the best service. Ive had omelettes, wraps, and burgers here & you can't go wrong. So delicious. It was renovated somewhat recently too and it's so cozy and spacious in there.

Yelp
Went here for the 1st time with my family as a large party of 11 on Sunday October 20th 2024. We entered the restaurant, told our name to the host, and had to wait a while for them to set up a table for us, and for some reason they wanted the whole party there to sit us. When about half our party arrived, we were sat quickly. While we were waiting, we noticed that they had lots of desserts like carrot cake, red velvet cake, rice pudding, chocolate cake, and various other delicious looking desserts! It is a busy diner, and not that easy to find parking, but we drove around until we found a spot. This restaurant was also featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, drive ins, and dives tv show. we saw a banner outside the restaurant. Restaurant gets really busy, but they do have a lot of tables, and a big restaurant. Server was also very nice and patient with us. Could have checked on us more, but that can be hard to do if busy. I started with water and chocolate milk, and got waters for the table. i believe someone also had orange juice. Also coffees. For breakfast, i decided on the Oreo pancakes, a couple of people got the spinach omlet which came with potatoes, someone ordered french fries, got toast, and most of us got omelets. Food also came at a decent time, and pretty much all at once for the same table. Oreo pancakes were very good, only thing was is that I prefer my toppings inside the pancake, and this was mostly on top of the pancakes. Still was delicious and i enjoyed it! Even the potatoes were good, as i stole one from my dad. Another favorite was the omelet which my aunt said was flavorful and enjoyable. Restrooms were also very clean. We paid via credit card and left a cash tip. Would definitely come again if we were in the area!

Yelp
Whatever you do, don't order grilled cheese.. imagine how delicious grilled cheese can be especially with a combination of good cheese not here. They made a slab on American cheese no pickle no coleslaw nothing
google avatar

Yelp
To call this place a "diner" is an understatement. While the dress code is casual, everything about this place is upscale. It's a very large restaurant with comfortable and stylish booths. The waiters all wear black dress slacks and white button ups. Staff is friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive, and the food is absolutely amazing! Everything tastes like it was made fresh on premises that day. You definitely get your money's worth for the portions! We got an appetizer and meals. We wanted to get dessert because everything in the display case looked incredible, but we were just too full. There is also a full bar (with signature cocktails) and ice cream/milkshakes available. Honestly, this place seems to have everything you could ever want. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Came for breakfast with my brother. Neither of us had ever been here before. What an amazing discovery! Absolutely delicious. We both got the onion ring hasher. If you like corned beef hash and onion rings, you will love this dish. We will come back here from Long Island just to have breakfast

Yelp
Love this place. The specials are always a hit and I've never been disappointed by any of them. Osmar and Laura the Managers ensure that customers receive the best service and food. The newest server, Freddy is awesome. Always checks in to ensure the perfect dining experience and that my wine glass never runs empty

Yelp
I've heard so much about this place and i finally decided to try. I am sorry to say I didn't have the best experience. My waitress didn't speak much English so it was hard to communicate. I ordered a burger and fries the burger was originally brought out to the table with a big block of cheese on it not melted . I asked for the cheese to be melted it was brought back burnt. The fries were cold upon arrival to the table. I ordered a virgin Pina coolata milkshake for desert and it was not good at all.

Yelp
I ordered dinner from the Stamford diner via a delivery app. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a side salad, and the mozzarella sticks. I requested an oil and vinegar dressing, which was excellent. The salad was fresh and delicious. The chicken sandwich was neither. The chicken sandwich was described as coming with tomatoes and a honey mustard sauce. The chicken itself was cubed, and smothered in a mayonnaise and honey mustard mixture with diced tomatoes mixed in. I happen to dislike anything more than a little dollop of mayo, so I was greatly disappointed in this chicken salad of sorts on a bun. Needless to say, it was a mess, and almost impossible to eat with my hands. (Yeah, I ate it because I'd been traveling all day, hadn't eaten, and hate wasting food more than I despise mayonnaise.) The mozzarella sticks were cold, and under seasoned. My hotel was within walking distance of the diner (I am disabled so I don't walk that far), so the temperature of the mozzarella sticks is inexcusable. I've gotten better seasoned mozzarella sticks from fast food chains. The dipping sauce, their signature marinara, was actually pretty damned good which made me regret not ordering their pasta and red sauce dishes. Later on that night, I had wave after wave of nausea hit me while I was attempting to sleep. Seeing as this meal was the only thing I'd eaten that day other than the almonds and cookies on the plane it's safe to assume that something I'd eaten from the Stamford Diner made me unwell.

Yelp
This is not just any diner! Like most diners, it has a huge menu yet unlike most, this diner does everything perfectly. From breakfast to paninis to soups, the food always hits the spot. The wait time can get very long but the sitting area is extremely large and the staff works as efficiently as they can. The true diner feel can be found here with the big booths and dessert counter.
google avatar

Fabian G.

Yelp
This place is a ripoff!!! They charge way too much for Diner quality food!!! A simple breakfast steak with eggs cost $30 dollars, All their burgers are close to $20. You're better off making it yourself and at least you know what you're eating. #GreedyDiner!!
google avatar

Brigid M.

Yelp
I came in late and sat at the bar. Got an app and the French onion soup. The bartender was so sweet and went above and beyond to get me extra broth. Ik it's just soup but it was sweet and server/bartenders need the recognition when they do something great!
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Price was right on par for how good the food was, and how much there was. I got the Oreo pancake stack and my boyfriend got the breakfast quesadilla and they were both perfect. The rest of the menu looked fantastic as well with a ton of options (everything from breakfast to salads to sandwiches to chicken tenders). The staff was insanely pleasant and despite how packed the restaurant was, the food came out fast and they were very attentive and polite. It was very packed, but you still get that authentic diner vibe! 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Hard to describe it other than pretty average. Our server seemed unhappy to be there and like he hated his job. He had a scowl on his face the entire time we were there. I got the chicken matzah ball soup since it was on Guy Fieri's DDD. Bleh it was mediocre at best, not much flavor. My wife and daughter did really like their pancakes but between my soup and the unfriendly waiter I was very underwhelmed.

Yelp
I'm not usually a person that frequents diners, but wanted to give this place a try since it was recently on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night around 5p so finding a table was pretty easy. The only good part about this place was the man who greeted me when I entered and kindly walked me to my table. The menu had so many options, most of which, seemed to be overpriced. The service was so slow so I actually had the time to look at a lot of the menu options Anyways, I ordered the spicy buffalo chicken wrap on whole wheat which came with coleslaw and fries. The first few bites of the buffalo chicken were okay, but then I started to realize how dry the wrap was. Also, this was not spicy in the slightest. Not very flavorful. I was hungry so I finished it, but it was one of the worst buffalo chicken wraps I've ever had. The coleslaw was okay. The fries were not great either. Overall, a very forgettable meal for me

Yelp
i really love this place the food is always yummy and the service is always so nice definitely come here today I went with my friends johnny and Catherine it was johnny's plan to treat us he is so nice and I haven't seen him since June so we were just catching up on a lot of hot gossip he got the chicken caesar wrap (one of my favorites definitely recommend) and Catherine got the Kentucky burger. i haven't had that one but the burgers here are really good anyway and I got chocolate chip waffle and it was so freaking good johnny did not let us get the unicorn milkshake which broke my heart because my mom doesn't let me get it either when I come :( sorry I could not review that for u guys today my waffle was so fluffy and so good and it had ice cream on it mmmm and I got strawberries too and it was just delicious I really love this place and the ambiance is so nice but also so cozy I LOVE IT then johnny said his phone died so he couldn't pay for the food SMH we almost had to send him to wash dishes in the back but then Catherine saved the day and paid for the whole check (really I just think it was his plan all along tho)

Yelp
Yuri was phenomenal throughout my entire night. made great recommendations and made amazing drinks

Michelle R.

Yelp
The food is great. This time my eggs were overdone but I never had to say a word. The waitress was so amazing that she noticed and manager came over to apologize. They took my order off my bill. We will definitely be back! The diner is clean and staff is fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
I've had their breakfast sandwiches and a Russian melt. Their breakfast is okay, typical diner food nothing too special. The Russian melt was delicious. I've never had that combo and it was really tasty. Service is pretty fast and helpful. Ambiance is like stepping into an average American diner. Took off a star for the high prices.

Yelp
The Stamford Diner is awesome! After seeing it featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives," my wife, brother, sister-in-law and I stopped there on a road trip from Philly to Maine (Sept 8, 2023) and I'm so glad we did! I had the turkey dinner (featured on "Triple D") AND IT WAS AMAZING! The turkey was cooked to perfection as were the potatoes & broccoli. And the turkey was delicious, I cut it with my fork and it melted in my mouth! The turkey gravy is to die for, the best turkey gravy I've had! They should bottle it and sell it! My wife had the corned beef hash, a favorite dish of hers, and she absolutely loved it! She said it was one of the best corned beef hashes she's ever had, quite the complement since it's something she loves to order when we're out. For dessert, we had a variety of their offerings including cakes and chocolate pudding, bread pudding and cookies. Each homemade dessert was a home run and we simply couldn't pick which we liked best because they were all so good. The bread pudding & the chocolate pudding have to be at the top of the list for the best of each that I've ever had. And what made this visit so special was not just the food. The people of the Stamford Diner were all warm and friendly. We were greeted nicely when we arrived and were seated. Laura, the GM, came over to our table to check on everything and she was so gracious with her time, answering our questions about the diner, making recommendations and telling us about the filming of "Triple D." And our server, Ramon, was great! He was attentive and so quick with refills and to remove empty dishes (there were plenty of them!). So if you're anywhere in the area, you have to check this hidden gem out! You'll thank me that you did...just like I'm SO THANKFUL that "Triple D" featured them recently!

Yelp
Friendly Environment, excellent service and great FOOD! Great Place to try if in the Stamford Area!

Yelp
Very consistent and reliable place to get a fun breakfast. Staff is well trained and excellent and attentive. It is fun to sit, in the bar area even if you're having breakfast so that you can hear the upbeat music. Carlos is the best waiter!

Yelp
Recovering from surgery so cooking and cleaning wasn't in the cards today.... So we all met at The Stamford Diner for Thanksgiving Lunch and still keep everyone together. Staff was amazing, Management was super friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent! While some went with the traditional Thanksgiving meals other ordered what they wanted. Not a traditional Thanksgiving but it was great nonetheless.

Yelp
Amazing food, fast and friendly service. Almost makes me want to relocate just to become a regular.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
Extremely well run and reliable with fast, attentive service. A bit pricey for a diner but the classic ambiance and glitzy lighting look more like a movie set than a real restaurant and that's a compliment. A staff of dozens always make for a pleasant experience though for having dined here nearly every weekend for a year with regular servers each time there is little face or name recognition with regulars. Everyone is very polite though. Large portions are good for some but I usually have soup. Lots of variety with staples chicken noodle and Matza ball on the regular menu. The other soups rotate between cream of broccoli, New England clam chowder, manhattan clam chowder, corn tortilla and others.

Yelp
Service is consistently good. Food is consistently good. Nice diner look and feel. Staff is friendly. I usually come here for breakfast and the breakfast items are always on point.

Yelp
OK, it's a diner...a good diner, so why a 5-star review? It's Carlos! What an amazing server - Friendly, efficient, and just an overall engaging demeanor. This guy is a superstar! In terms of the restaurant, I had some of the most flavorful cinnamon raisin French toast, and my wife had the Mexican Omelet (it wage a huge portion), with a couple of coffees and an OJ. Perfect service, great food, nice portions - What else could a traveling couple want. This was definitely a positive experience.

Yelp
thanks to laura and her amazing team! the food is always delicious , great to have so many choices! service on point and delightful atmosphere!

Yelp
Great place to eat!! I've been here many times. The parking lot always looks full, but there are plenty of seats inside -- big tables, little tables, big booths, little booths, countertop, and bar. I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated. Staff is friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable. The menu has a big variety -- burgers, paninis, wraps, quesadillas, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, full plate dinners, pasta dishes, seafood, steaks, salads, soups, etc. Plus all sorts of breakfast items -- omelettes, pancakes, French toast, Benedict's, and sides. The food is excellent quality. There's something for everyone. They've even been featured on a couple of FoodTV shows. If you can't find something you like, you're a giant pain in the butt. You should just stay home and eat your socks.

Steve S.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped here while traveling home this spot was recommended by a friend who grew up in the area. We were very pleased with the food and the prompt service provided. It also has that nostalgic diner feel to complete the experience. I absolutely recommend if you are in the area.
