Incredibly beautiful auditorium with tons of space, great sound system too. Home of New Creation Church, but it’s also a commercial venue for various artists and activities. Absolutely stunning view from the upper levels.

I went to The Star Theatre for a concert which located on the 5th floor. It was well organized with good sound quality. There were clean toilets available, and the staff were helpful and polite. There wasn’t much traffic, which was nice. After the concert, it was easy to book a taxi. Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable experience at a well managed venue.

Watched the amazing Jacob Collier. I have to say that the sound is amazing. There are a lot of ushers. Works well for emergencies and all. The only thing I have is that the toilets are quite far from the seats. So even if you purchase tickets at the front, you still need to go down the staircase to go to the toilet. But other than that, love the venue. Transpo to and from is also good.

Attended Zhang Bichen concert on 31 Jul 2025 and I must say that the venue was perfect. The sound quality was top notched. Very good venue for orchestra/band performance. Enjoyed the entire concert.

Watch Jo Koy Comedy special here, this seating (Box C) is very underrated!’ Worth the money cause it’s only you + 7 other people in that box but you get to see the act quite upclose! 100% will book this spot if I ever come back!!

Went here last Saturday for xdiz!!! Sound system was great, even though my seat was quite far from stage cause its a cheap one but since its a small venue, it wasnt so bad. Also this place is accessible via mrt so its convenient to travel here

Google
A fantastic venue for concerts and performances with great acoustics and a spacious, modern design. The seating is comfortable, and the tiered layout ensures a good view from almost anywhere in the hall. The location within The Star Vista mall is convenient, with plenty of dining options nearby. However, parking can be a challenge during peak events, and the exit process after a full-house show can be a bit slow. Public transport access is decent, but be prepared for some walking if you’re coming from the MRT. Overall, a great place for live events, just plan your transport accordingly!

Just had a wonderful evening at the Star Theatre last night. Beautiful and spacious. Great acoustics. Many ushers to help and good crowd control. Always looking forward to shows done here.

Yelp
I have been to Star Vista several times and have seen the facade of The Star Performing Arts Centre but I have never been inside until now. It is easily one of the better theaters in Singapore. The location is quite way out (to me) but once you get over the distance and get into the theater, that is soon forgotten. It is a modern and stunning theater, with escalators on both sides of the mall leading to the theater lobby. Signs placed outside the escalator were helpful for event-goers who are new to the place. Forget about ushers checking and tearing your tickets. You just scan the ticket at the turnstile and voila, you are admitted into the huge foyer. Get your bags checked and proceed to the various doors leading to your seats. There are plenty of ushers to assist. I find it strange that washrooms are not located on every floor. The hall itself is big and airy. I was in the center block near the front and the space between rows was good, you won't get your toes stepped on by accident. It was also spacious enough to stand up and dance if you wish. The slight graduation means each row is slightly higher than the front so you do not really have your view blocked, well unless the person in front is super tall and you are very short. The acoustic is marvelous! I am not a sound expert but the performance by 2 Cellos came out loud and clear, even with drums and all the electrical hookup or whatever you call it. The audio-visual and lighting are crisp and superb. The seats are plush and comfortable, the back is not too straight that you will get a crick in the neck if you rest your head on it. I like it! A lot. It is definitely way better than Marina Bay Sands theaters, on par or maybe even better than the Esplanade Concert Hall (which is built for acoustics performance). Parking is quite easy on weeknights. Plenty of space. Food option is sufficient and it is generally a painless experience. Maybe now people park outside Star Vista (parking can get expensive there), there is no issue in getting to the car park from the theater. We managed to get on the 2nd elevator which came to get down to the parking garage.

Yelp
Wow, this is one beautiful theater. I came here in January to watch Phoenix perform live, and at first I was a bit irked why they chose this venue. It seemed like it catered more to plays, orchestras, or opera performances. Besides the aisles, there isn't a standing room only space, and I could foresee the formal, plush seats making it a bit awkward as I jump around and sing at the top of my lungs (like a concert goer should!) Basically, it felt like a stuffy environment for an indie rock band performance. But once Phoenix took the stage, I immediately understood why the Star was chosen. The sound system was top notch and it really did justice to their live performance! I'm no audiophile, but just know I was amazed at the extreme clarity of the sounds throughout the show. Bottom line, I'd jump at the chance to attend another concert here. (The next mainstream artist performing is Ellie Goulding, but I'm not a huge fan.) The only thing I don't like is the location- it's a bit out of the way from my Novena bubble, although it's easily accessible by the circle and east/west MRT lines. Also, the mall located below it was of no help to me when I was looking for something to eat before the concert, as the queues for everything were way too long! There are just not enough food and beverage outlets to handle a potential crowd of 5000 that could be attending a show at the theater.

Yelp
This visit to the Stars Performing Arts Centre was an honor because I was actually performing! It was for the Tzu Chi Year End Blessing event. I was amazed by the size of the both the stage and the floor. The floor was designed in a way that you will get a good view no matter where you sit. Sitting on the higher floors will grant you a more holistic view of the stage while sitting on the 'ground' level will get you the details. Being part of the performance team, I have to give thumbs up to the supporting staff who made sure we know where everything is, and their friendly hospitality. They seem to always be around and ready to help. If you are an audience, getting to your sit right in the middle of the hall is also not a problem. The rows are very spacious, allowing anyone to walk past without much difficulty. Unlike some theaters, going to the restroom right before a show is always a risk. You might get stuck in a really long line, especially for women. No worries about that at all here. There is restrooms on every floor and there are plenty of stalls in each one. They are located at different corners on each floor but their on-site staff will be able to direct you to the closest one in no time.

Yelp
Prepare to have your mind blown. The Star Performing Arts Centre easily outclasses the Esplanade and the theaters at MBS. From the grandness of the entrance, you literally climb halfway to the stars before you get to your seats among the clouds. (ok, not literally climb, more like you float up to the clouds on escalators.) I'm blown away again by the sound system in this place, which I hear is an L-Acoustics K1 Line Array with more than enough power to rock you. Every syllable can be heard crisp and clear over the sound system. Unfortunately, the toilets are woefully inadequate for the crowd, and it wasn't even a full house, which I hear can seat more than 5,000. And what's with the men's toilets hidden away up a fire staircase and behind a smoke stop lobby? Exiting the venue is a nightmare. There are not enough escalators to discharge the crowd. And once you get to your car, you'll be stuck for at least half an hour trying to get out of the carpark because everyone wants to exit by the Vista Exchange exit and seem to miss the fact that there is also a Rochester Drive exit. Note to self, park at Rochester Mall in future. In spite of all the shortcomings, I still think this place deserves a 5 star rating. There are so many options for pre-show dinner that you may spend more time checking out all the various choices than actually eating. I only wished the eating places stayed open later so that post show, there would be some places to chill instead of everyone stewing in the carpark.

Yelp
Probably the most beautiful venue I've ever been to. Conveniently located close to a train station, the Star is so futuristic and daring in design, it's hard for me to compare it to something similar in size and scope. It'll probably look modern even in the year 2040.

Yelp
Once you get to Buona Vista MRT station you'll see it, there's no way to miss it. The building itself is worth mentioning due to its stunning architecture. There's a shopping centre on the first floors (as anywhere else), to get to the theatre you need to go up, and up again. The theatre is very well designed. Easily accesible through several escalators, with many different entrances, ample hallways and automatic ticket-readers, it's hard for it to get crowded. There are also many bathrooms, all conveniently located. The design is vertical, I can only imagine how aweome it must look from the stage. The seats are comfortable and there's enough leg room. The most outstanding feature, though, is the sound. Absolutely stunning! Every single detail of the music can be heard and enjoyed. Potent bass and sharp trebles with enough room for the mid-range frequencies. It is a sound full of texture and detail, very powerful, but not overwhelming. The sound quality really blew me away. The only "problem" is the theatre doesn't seem very friendly when it comes to more upbeat rock or indie music: there are too many seats, if you know what I mean. It's not really a problem, every concert hall is designed for different kinds of music and shows. I just hope I find a theatre where I can stand up, move around, jump and dance as I like to, that has that amazing sound quality. "You can't always get what you want".

Yelp
The Star Performing Arts Center (Star-PAC) is aptly named for it's celestial presence. It appears to be created for another world; whether that world is futuristic or divine is up to the beholder. It is less than a 5-minute walk from the train line. We came to hear Joseph Prince preach with the New Creation Church. I had no idea that the building would be such an event as well. We arrived early and had time to walk around the new eateries. It was Christmas overload with decorations, carolers, and fresh (yes, real!) pine trees. I couldn't believe it. I was so overwhelmed I was getting choked up. Anything dubbed "Chocolate" beckons me. In the sticky humidity, we ate a chocolate tart in cool A/C. It truly felt like a Christmas I remember and desire. I fooled myself in the heat; it was a Christmas miracle and I hadn't even gone to church yet!

Yelp
Awesome venue to see a show! i love the fact that it is close to the train and there are loads of places to eat and drink around the venue. Ascetically the building is very neat and once inside with all of the escalators it makes for a cool experience. the one issue is that they don't allow food or drinks inside... so you cant drink a beer when at a concert. you buy it and then have to drink it outside while watching it on TV. this could have been the concert i was at, but still not a good rule.

Yelp
Excellent layout, every seat gets a good view of the act with high definition screens laid out. The whole conduct of the event feels very classy and upmarket. Only things they could have done better is the spacing between seats and also, organisation of exit. Very messy when the show ends and all the well-dressed audience has to leave by squeezing with one another, and being greeted by a taxi stand with cabs that are all on call is not funny.

Yelp
The Star Performing Arts Centre can be said to be second to none in Singapore. Its unique architectural design and its open air mall concept makes people feel really relaxed. So far world-class acts have been coming to use this 5000 seater state of the art theatre that includes acts like Ed Sheeran, David Foster and the Backstreet Boys. Each seat in the theatre is fitted with an air-condition underneath, with comfortable armrests and the sound is just fabulous and immersive that is not quite easily attainable for any theatre around the world. It truly is an amazing theatre, nestled in the Buona Vista neighbourhood, Science park and its own mall underneath. Its pluses is its location. But its minuses can also be its location. Some people don't like the open air mall concept (so far I haven't encountered unbearable heat problems because the shops are still air conditioned). Some people don't like that its not in the city. That can be said that The Star Performing Arts Centre will never be the Singapore icon as The Esplanade, but for those who appreciate good music and a excellent theatre, The Star is truly the place.
