The Star Rock Shop

A very sweet lady served my friend and I today. She knew her stuff! Great suggestions and told me a bunch of cool stuff about candy history and how it was made differently. Their berry ice cream is amazing btw, also their humbugs are very delicious. A place that’s worth the visit, being the oldest candy shop in Scotland!

Lots of old fashioned sweeties to choose from and one or two I had forgotten all about..!!! Recommended. 👍

If you like good old fashioned sweets, then this is the shop for you. Humbugs galore cinnamon, clove and ginger flavours.

Terrific selection of favourite confectionery. All the old favourites and newer ones too. From boilings to chocolates and everything in between. Don't pass by without paying a visit. We were made most welcome by a very knowledgeable and informative lady who didn't hurry us, even though we could have spent all day choosing from the vast amount of jars on display.

Great wee shop! Reminds me of the old options in Montrose. The moment you walk in the smell hits you and you feel like a kid again. There's a great selection of "modern" sweets and shelves full of hard sweets to be weighed. It did take me a minute to remember how to order hard boiled sweets again! The man behind the counter couldn't have been friendlier

What a nice little sweet shop. The woman inside was very friendly and the sweets tasted great, especially the Irn-Bru sweets which taste like the real thing. Keep it up!

The oldest sweetie shop in Scotland and it fairly brought back childhood memories of my old time favourites, only one they didn't have was brandy balls ☹️

My goodness! What a delight to visit The Star Rock shop. I honestly felt like a kid at Christmas. Fantastic experience, friendly and welcoming owners. So glad we seen this magical shop on TV! We shall be coming back soon! Can't wait to dive in to all our treats!! Thank you so much.

I was in the shop on Friday 14th Sept and couldnt believe my eyes with all of the tradditional sweetie goodies. Home made fudge, macaroon bars, sherbet lemons all my old favourites. I did find my very favourite which were lemon bon bons with the sherbet sprinkled on the outside, they are very hard to come by these days. The lady asked how much would you like and I said how much do you have, unfortunately she only had about 500 grams left so I bought the lot, and ate the lot that night at home. I will certainly be back in the next week or so even though I will have to travel around 60 miles from Aberdeen, it will be well worth the trip to the little shop in Kirriemuir.
