The Station Hotel (Aberlour, Moray) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The small Scottish town of Rothes is at the heart of whisky country, and despite its unassuming name, the Station Hotel is by a considerable distance the finest lodging in town. Its proprietors’ first career was in the whisky business — no fewer than 500 varieties line the bar’s shelves — but they’re naturals at hospitality as well, as evidenced by the sheer quality of this handsome 15-room hotel." - Tablet Hotels

I was here on work as a tour guide with a group of 6 people. The hotel was excellent and the staff were superb, attentive and full of local knowledge. Jacob who working evenings was first class. He was really helpful on local knowledge of other things to do and was excellent in guiding me with some good whisky choices. He was multi tasking, running a number of different things on one particular evening and did it all in his stride. Nice rooms, great service and a lovely breakfast. Any easy choice.

We had the pleasure of staying at The Station Hotel for four nights and it is an experience we will never forget. Our rooms were beautifully appointed and very spacious, the customer service outstanding, the tasting menu some of the best food we’ve ever had in our entire lives, and a great selection of scotch and wine! If you’re looking to explore the Speyside region, this hotel is a must-stay. A special shout-out to Jacob, Megan , Ann and the entire staff. You are the hardest working people in Scotland! Thank you for everything. You made our vacation truly magical.Sending love always!

Everything about my stay was excellent, from the warm welcome on arrival to the food and decor. Ariana and the staff were outstanding, making me feel at home throughout my visit. The hotel is set in a small town that many people might just pass through, but it is well worth staying for a few days to explore the local area. I will definitely be back in the near future. The food was outstanding, and the wide selection of drinks from their own brewery was a real highlight.

We had the 10 course tasting menu at the station hotel and it was AMAZING! Jacob took such good care of us. The food was the perfect amount of interesting and delicious. Also, we loved the wine pairing that Jacob did! So creative. Highly recommend

Lovely hotel easy to get to, comfortable rooms and well appointed bathrooms. Had a lovely dinner as well and Jacob was such a great bartender, server and local guide telling us about places to see on our way up to Skye. He even printed out some information on Rogie Falls, one of the stops we plan to make on our way over. Friendly and kind staff, each person we met here. Look forward to a return stay soon.

did not get off to a good start. First of all the restaurant for the tasting menu was closed, (we found out when we tried to book it) then it opened but not many booked, finally a few more booked. The delux doubles were a bit small, the junior suites much better. However, this was all forgotten by our experience of the tasting menu and Jacob. The food is absolutely outstanding and Jacob was brilliant, all served at a really relaxed pace. Loved it here.

My experience of the Station Hotel was one to forget. Very poor service and massively over priced. I paid £140 for the 10 course tasting menu and wine flight.||I took pictures of the 10 courses and have since showed friends the individual plate pictures to see if they could identify the course.||I am now recommending NO ONE else has the misfortune of trying The Tasting Menu again.||The food quality was so poor they were unable to even work out what the dishes were. Not only was the food shocking the service was also very poor. The entire experience was one to forget.

Loved this hotel in the small village of Rothes. The hotel is owned by the Forsyth copper works one of the primary maker of single malt pot stills in Scotland. They lovingly refurbished the hotel and added a wonderful restaurant and bar. Jacob was the man of all trades at the hotel. He welcomed us and showed us to our room. He was the bar tender and he was the primary waiter for our ten course meal. He paired wines for my wife and single malts for me for the main courses of our dinner. Aiden, the chef, did a masterful job preparing a wide range of tastes for our dinner. We loved the location and our three day stay at this hotel.
