I had such a fantastic time on the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour, and that’s thanks to our incredible guide, Dan. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of energy from start to finish. What stood out the most was how he brought history to life—sharing stories and insights in such a fun, memorable way. Dan wasn’t just informative, he was also entertaining and made sure everyone felt included and comfortable throughout the tour. I left with not only great memories but also a deeper appreciation for these historic landmarks. Truly an unforgettable experience, and I can’t recommend Dan enough!

Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close is something I will never forget. The ferry ride offered incredible views of the skyline, and as the statue came closer, I realized why it’s so iconic. Standing beneath it gave me chills. I also visited Ellis Island, and the immigration stories there were deeply moving. It’s not just a tourist attraction—it’s a place full of history and meaning.

Was super lucky to get a crown reserve ticket last minute! Wonderful views and a must do while visiting Manhattan for a great price!

Atrocious customer service. I understand that returns/refunds are complicated with this type event. However, we had a sick child that could not travel. I contacted customer service, and never received a response. Life happens, and there should be protocols for people to receive refunds. If we ever do make it back to NYC, we will definitely not be using this company. Nor will we be recommending this service to our friends traveling to the area.

An incredible view into our past. Worth the time and money. Great for the entire family. Here's something you need to know, if you plan to walk up the stairs inside the statue of liberty you cannot buy tickets for that at any ticket booth you must schedule that in advance online! We found that out dissapointingly the hard way and we did not get the chance to do it. Maybe next year. I hope this helps. Enjoy yourselves.

IT'S THE STATUE OF LIBERTY!!! ELLIS ISLAND!!! What more can you say? Seeing Lady Liberty up close is truly surreal. Her history, her creation, her symbolism--it's all so powerful and fascinating. If you do nothing else while in NYC, make time for this. You won't regret it. Want to visit the crown? Plan ahead--those tickets sell out about a year in advance. We were able to snag Pedestal tickets just a few weeks before our trip, and it was still an incredible experience. Military families: don't forget to ask for your discount! IMPORTANT: Only buy tickets through Statue City Cruises--the official ferry provider. Any other seller or ferry line is a scam. Accept no substitutes!

While in the neighborhood we decided to visit this landmark. Let's talk the experience. Parking was easy, scan the QR code to pay and park. There's lots of spaces. It took a little minute for the boat to come (keep this in mind if you have kiddos). Once on the boat and moving it's a nice boat ride. They have snacks, food and drinks, along with restrooms if you need to partake. Once you arrive there's plenty of space getting to lady liberty. You can stop and take plenty of pictures. If you want a challenge take the steps to the top instead of the elevator lol. Overall it was an experience, glad I did it at least once.

What an amazing experience! If you are in New York the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are a must see attraction. Wow! If you go in the winter months like we did I recommend preparing for all sorts of weather! We experienced, the sunny cold to the snowy, wet and cold!

The Ellis Island Foundation Yup, my relatives came through Ellis Island. I have visited the island several times. I even made a donation to the foundation to have my grandparents names engraved on the wall. I went to take pictures of the wall with their names. I enjoyed the views of the city. It's always fun to go to an island. I'm off in fantasy land away from the noise of the hood I live in. It's great for tourists. I enjoy all historical landmarks. It gets pretty drafty on the island. The museum is great. You can look up your family and find the ship that brought them to America. There's a lot of cool memorabilia to check out. This is a great foundation to support. The Island is expensive to maintain and there was an enormous amount of work involved in restoration after hurricane Sandy. If you want an escape back in time, go for the day. It's nice to get out of the noise in Manhattan.

For the boat ride itself, you should visit the Statue of Liberty! Don't become obsessed with "getting tickets to the Crown", it's a schlep! Go anytime of year though the Fall season is my favorite! Your ticket here should also allow you to visit Ellis Island. Pack a lunch and DEFINITELY rent an audio tour or allow the National Park Service Rangers give you a tour...sign up once you get there for an informative grounds tour! Great for large groups! And private parties (if you can afford it)! Shout out to the Park Police who keep this place safe and pleasant! Loved the tour. They let us walk midway up and take pictures. The view was nice and I also liked how they had boats come to pick you up often.

The one, the only, the freaking Statch! Beautiful exhibit, love how it's setup. Very bummed that i did NOT get to go up to the crown, those tickets were sold out through thanksgiving, and this was a June trip. Loved the views on the ferry and how in depth everything in the museum was, i actually learned a lot. I climbed up the pedestal which was like 146 steps or so, the views del up there were charming. Early bird definitely gets the worm here, u lolligag and try to pull up to this function in the afternoon and u won't see a ferry for a couple hours! Two separate gift shops one I'd strictly for the museum portion, the other is for the statue itself. This is a MUST DO if you're in New York, pay homage and absorb some knowledge. I learned they initially were gonna make it an overpass where u can boat under a statues undercarriage.... Thank goodness that idea was scrapped

Great day for tourists or natives. Beautiful ferry ride with sub kissed views of lower Manhattan. For $23.50 you get access to the Statue of Liberty pedestal (the Crown was closed) and ferry rides from Battery Park, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island. There are food items available at both spots. Definitely spend more time at Ellis Island as they have a well done museum and you can also do the Hard Hat Your which includes a tour of the former buildings such as the hospitals, dorms, and morgue. Excellent way to spend a fall day

We took the Statue of Liberty cruise that included a stop at Ellis island. How it works: -Ellis island is the second stop on the tour (you can stay on the boat and skip Liberty island but why would you? -so you start by getting in a long line at Liberty island for your the very short trip to Ellis island-just like the ride over, the big ferries take loads of about 500 people at a time in 20-minute intervals -if you want views of the island from the water, stand on the LEFT side of the boat - your ticket get you in to the museum and a FREE audio guide that does an excellent job walking you through the immigration experience -there are three main tours although we find the immigrant experience and the peopling of America to be the most interesting. -when you are ready to go, just jump back on the ferry to the city EXPECT IT TO BE VERY CROWDED-try to go early. Reserve tickets ahead on line and print at home to go through shorter security line. It was especially interesting to hear all the visitors from around the world marveling at what it must have been like to make your way to the USA, leaving everything you knew behind, to pursue the American dream.

What a jam packed day! There was so much to see and do! There was an awesome "ranger" (I think that's what she was called) at Ellis Island who conducted mock interviews of the immigration process. You'll need about an hour or more at each location to see everything. Lots of photo spots and informative!

A beautiful way to spend an hour or two! Everyone has seen the statue, but many have not stepped foot on the island. Take the time to enjoy the short cruise out to the island , stop into the museum to see how she was created and paid for. There is a beautiful lawn area, walking path around the island perimeter and little snack shop. Highly recommend!

It took a few trips, but I finally have seen the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It was a foggy rainy day when we went, but that didn't limit our enjoyment! The most frustrating part was getting through security. So many check points! The ferry ride was lots of fun. I suggest going to the top to get great views of Lady Liberty from the Ferry. With a good camera in hand, you'll get some great photos. Liberty Island is worth seeing at least once. You get some unique views of the Statue of Liberty from the Island! You can even walk up it, if you dare! (There's a lot of steps--195 to the pedestal, more to the crown.) There's also a museum on site with some pretty cool artifacts and history on the Statue of Liberty. While I think the Statue of Liberty is for all ages, Ellis island may not interest the young as much. The exhibits are mostly pictures and paper artifacts with lots of reading to really tell the story. I don't think this would really keep kids entertained. For me, the most exciting thing was seeing the registration hall and thinking about all the history it held. That was the most powerful thing I took from Ellis Island. All in all, I think this is worth doing at least once. Besides seeing things and places that are precious to us as Americans, it is a good opportunity to check out Battery Park (specifically the Seaglass Carousel, which is right where you grab the ferry).

This was my first time ever visiting NewYork and seeing the Statue of Liberty. It was cold but very nice. We will be back.

Good place, be sure to get here early by 9:30 as the line can get long afterwards. If you're staying near Times Square/42nd. Street, take the 1 train all the way to the South Ferry Station. This will save you a lot of extra walking and the need to transfer later on. It's good to do this first in the morning, then the 9/11 Memorial in the afternoon (AC) as it's just a 12 minute walk. If you can, buy the CityPass which includes tickets to 6 attractions such as the Memorial, Empire State Building and The Met Museum.

Oh my favorite part of my New York trip is being able to see Statue of Liberty..pictures doesn't do the justice. U have to see it in person. It's amazing feeling..

Nice tourist area if you're not from New York. Apparently you can't have pepper spray or stun guns, even though they're for protection. Didn't really enjoy it. Only went for the pictures

I've been to NYC many times, but never made time to see the Statue of Liberty. I'm so glad I finally made it out during my last trip. We went on the Tuesday after Labor Day at around 10am and it was pretty packed. BUT the ferry leaves every 20 minutes and fits a large capacity so the lines move quickly. There are two stops: State of Liberty and Ellis Island. Beautiful experience of our country's history. Order tickets online ahead of time to avoid ticket booth lines. If you forget, don't worry. We had to purchase the tickets there in order to get military discount and it went quickly. I believe it was regularly priced at $18/ticket (not including extras such as walking up to the crown, but includes an audio tour).

I really enjoyed my trip to the state of liberty. I highly recommend if you're trying to do something fun in NY. I visited as I was with my friend's class field trip and the kids definitely had fun. You also get great views of NY from the island. The boat ride was surprisingly very smooth. I get car sick VERY easily so I expected to get sea sick, but surprisingly it wasn't bad at all.

This is a must see for tourists and locals alike. Just a word of caution, I had a small Leatherman tool and they don't let you in and they didn't store it. You have two choices, don't go or forfeit the tool forever

I was there in person before COVID but in order to view records, and was told I had to pay to access their computers. So I tried to set up an online account, but the interface is impossible and does not function. Cannot create an account. The organization must be financially driven and not willing to share to public records. Shame on them!

Incredible museum of history & stories from around the world, giving you insight into the immigrants of yesterday. I loved the opportunity to read stories of real people & see the island. We bought NYC passes so the ferry ride, tickets to Lady Liberty & Ellis island were included. You have to show up early to the box office at Castle Clinton however since you cannot reserve tickets. Go early to get the ferry if you want to avoid long lines. The island museum has different levels, some focused on the politics, families, political climate of the 1800-1900s. The documentary is also worth watching on the 2nd fl. The cafe is busy but has good sandwiches, I tried the turkey panini and it was tasty. The 1st fl. Also has interactive exhibits about immigration issues around the world. Upstairs on 2nd fl is the family exhibit about what families bring to America. The temporary exhibition was really cool this time about John Muir.

I've been to New York several times but never got the chance to check it out because of our usually full schedule but for this trip, the boyfriend made sure that we get the chance to see it especially with all our kids in tow. We were able to purchase tickets in advance but only up to the pedestal because the tickets to get up to the crown are already sold out until September. Better booked your tickets 6months in advance if you want access to her crown. We got reserved tickets so we avoided the long a** lines getting on to the ferry boat that will take you to Liberty Island. Great planning on his end. Expect a huge crowd everyday. It doesn't really matter if it's on a weekday. Make sure to wear very comfy shoes because there's tons of walking. You're not allowed to bring Food and drinks but don't fret, you can buy them in their concessions on the Ferry and at the Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Food like cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, sandwich melt, cheese pizza, chips, French fries, pretzels. Be ready to spend at least $8.50 for food and $2.50 for drinks. The Liberty Museum is a must! Learn the history behind it and how fucking brilliant the planning, architecture and Engineering involved in building this magnificent statue. Manual computations back in the 1800's. How cool is that? Come and visit when in New York and learn how to appreciate what the Statue of Liberty is all about.

Just wanted to note to others to make sure you DO NOT buy tickets from statueoflibertytickets.com as it is a fake website pretending to be the official place but in fact, they charge you $7 over the price of the ticket for no reason whatsoever. Please buy them from the official website statuecruises.com only.

If you are interested in going into the pedestal or the crown I would plan my trip six months in advance. If you are looking to just come over to Liberty Island I would pack my lunch and have a casual lunch in the shade. By far the worst part of the trip was getting through security. The couple in front of us had nothing but problems because of the amount of stuff they had. I would plan my trip like you were going through airport security. Anything that you will not need leave at home or the hotel.

Loved that they had employees around the area and by the subway to tell visitors where had to go to get tickets and board the boat to get to Ellis island. If you don't get tickets ahead of time (and I mean days before) - you will not be able to go inside the Statue of Liberty. They are limited.

This site is still awe inspiring. I have been here several times and it still amazes me. The grounds are well kept and maintained. This is great for a class trip, which is why I recently visited. The tour is interesting and informative. It can get crowded during peak hours. Well worth a visit.

History at it's finest.. it is a most definite tourist stop to come see while in NYC if you have time for the ferry ride out. Pro Tip: use the NYC CityPass booklet to save money on admission to this location and many others.

There is a lot of walking. If you are getting to the pedestal, you are walking 10 flights of stairs. The elevator's only for people in wheelchairs. You can see a lot from the pedestal, though. There's a cafe where you can get lunch. The seating is mostly outdoors, unless you want to sit on really hard tube seats or stand at a table. The onion rings are fantastic. And they do have ranch dressing/ketchup/mustard. There is no sunscreen if you forgot some. The information center has a quick interesting background. It also has maps of Liberty/Ellis Island. There is a gift shop in front of the cafe.(outside labeled "refreshments" I think) This is a very pleasant experience.

Plan According Lady Liberty Has Lots of Fans Despite how you're getting there, make sure you get tickets in advance. The island is run by the city and plan on at least 3 hours to tour the island. The approach to the island is amazing, it's just breathtaking to imagine a time when arriving to the island was a symbol of hope, a new start, just imagining how and what people were thinking as they approached. There is so much history and so much to learn and see. There are several photo ops, remember to bring a jacket or windbreaker as the island is also very windy, coupled with the water it makes it very chilly as apposed to the city

On our way back from the Statue of Liberty, we did this Ellis Island stop and I'm glad we did. Lots to learn about and lots to see! I spent hours here just reading through everything. Take your time and enjoy it, it's part of our history!

After having my parents' names engraved on Ellis Island, I ordered a Wall Panel Reproduction. I was terribly ripped off!! 1) The printing is so small as to be almost unreadable. 2) The birthplaces of my parents have been completely omitted. 3) There's not even a small photo of the engraved names or of the wall panel itself. 4) This is just a BENT xeroxed piece of paper that cost no more than a dollar. This so-called 'non-profit' is all about business and making a profit! I am disabled and cannot travel from California to New York to take photos myself, and it seems I'll pass away without ever being able to see what my parents' engraved names look like !!

I have been to NYC tons of times! I decided I want to see something new and I figured I would go see the Statue of Liberty. I truly did not have many expectations and was only able to reserve a ticket up to the pedestal the morning of my journey. Even though I was a party of one, I tried really hard to get to the Crown and unfortunately they regulate that tremendously. It was sold out until May and I went in late February. I cannot believe I neglected going to this landmark for so many years. It was really fun to go to and at least see the inside of the statue looking up. Since it was cold out, there were no lines and not many people overpopulated in liberty Island. Regardless, this is a national treasure and should be paid a visit at least once in your life. Try and get a ticket to the crown a couple of months ahead of time if you know you are going there.

A must-see, I must say :) This visit the interior part of the Statue was closed for the last year due to restoration of the crown, with the reopening date set for this Oct. 28th. DO RESERVE TIX ONLINE PRIOR. The line to purchase tix s ridiculous day-off - I had reserved tix and saw the line to buy- 30-45 min according to those I talked to. Also, you will have the opportunity to skip the mile long wait to get on the ferry, by going to reserved line which is far less of wrap-around. The ferry goes to the Statue first, then to Ellis Island, then back to Battery Park. So you basically get on to go to the Statue, then make sure you leave yourself enough time (especially if you plan on going up to the crown or anywhere in the interior) to experience Ellis Island once the ferry circles back. It's every 20 min., so when you're ready for the next place, you'll reboard the ferry to Ellis, then back Battery. Some scavenger hunt-type games for the kids a couple of time througout the day at the Statue from what I seen during my week day trip. Could be a lot of fun for the kid! One last thing: Souvenirs are really inexpensive which was a BIG GREAT SURPRISE :)

What a great tour! I haven't been to the Statue in over 20 years. It was a totally different experience! The ferry ride was not so fun. It was completely packed. Too crowded for me. And the line to get back on was ridiculous! The audio tour itself was great! It really immerses you in the story of the Statue. The island was crowded, but with the audio playing, I was able to tune out all of the people. A good tip is to bring your own ear buds so you don't have to use one of their headsets. Those things weird me out! lol The gift shop was nice and we were able to get some nice souvenirs. There was also a large bathroom in there. Although it could have used a cleaning. Overall, well worth the price, especially when it includes Ellis Island.

A must place to see. There is a ferry to Elsie island and cruise as well.. Elsie island ferry this ll take to the island itself. The cruise is about 1 hr ride which doesn't take to the island.. .Furry ride is CHEAPER than cruise. . For tourists I would suggest taking the cruise as you can get a better view of both downtown and statue. Also there is ferry to state and island which is free. You can also get a view of statue in this also.

It was probably the worst day in my vacation We booked the tickets online, with "priority passing" when we got to the park there was absolutely no clue as to where to go or what to do It was obvious that no one else did really Then after half an hour of wondering between the endless lines we got to the right one and had our "priority" tickets Then it was time to go to one of the most humiliating lines i have ever seen, no respect to the fact that these tourists are still human Waiting lines outside in December, trust me, you don't to try that in New York We ended up leaving the place, like many others

I just went to the Statue of Liberty whilst I was in New York for my summer vacation and it was such a fun and enjoyable time! I absolutely loved each and every minute for when I was there. This was fun and a great way to see the island. The boat ride was very smooth and every bit of our trip was well organized. The next tier of tours sell out ahead of time so we decided to just do the base tour and still enjoyed it. Plenty of wonderful views of the city from the island and great pictures.

I loved seeing the Statue of Liberty and see everything on Ellis Island. It's something to do while in NYC. Great place to visit for the day! It's definitely worth it.

Security is a joke, I had a Swiss army knife type card in my wallet that they started barking at me for, no customer service , this is worse than tsa I've been through so many airports with it in my wallet I didn't even know it was there. Hard to enjoy when first thing is this failure or security .

It was so moving and enlightening to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The audio tour of Ellis Island is phenomenal and so rich in history. You could spend all day here and learn so much. It's crazy how the negative sentiments about immigration are still going on today. I was so fascinated and captivated by all of the history and I love how the audio tour is set up so you travel through the exhibits as if you were an immigrant venturing to America for the first time. My boyfriend and I had a C3 (citypass) and we were able to access the pedestal at the Statue of Liberty (first come first serve so plan to go early) and it was an experience I will never forget. I recommend using the ferry from the NJ side if you can because the ferry line to/from NYC was horrendous and you'll spend most of your day just in line.

This is a touristy spot for visitors to check out the Statue of Liberty and walk inside it and see it up close. It's a good place to check out at least once in your life. I took a ferry to get to the island which was a somewhat smooth ride although a bit rocky at times but it was a short ride and I got to the island in 15 minutes.

Seeing the statue was definitely cool, but not worth the trouble. We purchased our tickets in advance so that we wouldn't have to wait an estimated 2 hours in line, but found it was still very cumbersome to get to the statue. First, you have to go through airport level security on the NYC side and then wait 30-40 minutes for the boat to unload 1,000 or so guests and then load up 1,000 more. Once you get to Liberty island, guess what?...another security line! By the time I actually made it to the statue, my enthusiasm was gone. When we decided to leave, we had to wait another 30 minutes or so to catch a boat back to NYC. In short, you spend about 1 hour or so at the statue, but this is about a 4-5 hour ordeal, so block out the better part of a whole day if you really want to visit the statue. Not worth it in my opinion.

Our first time to New York and we took a water taxi that took us to Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. Both were fascinating. Loved seeing the Statue of Liberty, although a lot smaller then expected it was still a joy to see. My only complaint is about the company or should I say the crew on the boat we took. My husband has a conduit in and he sometimes has a hard time walking. The crew was rushing and yelling at people to hurry on and off the boat, they didn't care about people's safety. We apparently were the last tour group and the water was very choppy and rough which made the boat and the ramp move up and down a lot.. My husbands food almost got caught between the ramp and the boat which almost made him fall.. And they staff are pushing and rushing people off the boat!! I don't feel that was appropriate to do even with children and elderly people that were on the boat. That was not right and ruined our experience on that particular boat.

Nice tour with friendly people. Make sure you reserve plenty of time in advance if you want to go into the Statue of Liberty!
