The Stellenbosch Hotel

This is an old historical property that has been able to maintain its charm through the years. The location is fantastic with a ton of restaurants well within walking distance as well as local stores. The on property restaurant does a good job with breakfast being a small buffet and an ala cart menu. Dinner service is good and quick, try the brick oven pizza. Depending on where your room is be aware you may experience some courtyard noise. I had trouble with the key for the room but they were quick to come and show us the trick to unlocking it. We really enjoyed the town and convenience this property provided. The team is warm and welcoming and willing to help wherever needed. Great place to stay for a short time to experience old world charm and the town.

Best pizza in Stellenbosch! As a local, I always thought it might be a bit of a tourist trap but was very pleasantly surprised! Sitting along the street, under the trees was special. We were impressed by the prices, seeing them as more local / South African prices and joined them for cocktails and pizza. We had the white pizza and the burger which we later found out was called the “monster burger” - with good reason! Stacked with cheese, caramelised onions, bacon and onion rings - my partner thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s some of the best pizza I’ve had in Stellenbosch! We will definitely be back!

Great hotel in a central location, walking distance for shops, bars & restaurants .|The hotel was able to accommodate our party of over 60 guests with no problems.|Our rooms were comfortable, with tea / coffee facility.|The restaurant was good,plenty of breakfast & dinner choices. Can recommend the pizzas. |Definitely plan a return visit

The worst hotel of our entire stay in South Africa. Upon the arrival, we were informed that we were « upgraded to a better room for free ». When we entered the room, we compared the pictures of the room as per the booking to our actual room and they were the same. What was the need of the staff at the reception to lie to us?! The check out time conditions on Booking said we had to check out by 11:00. We were being kicked out around 10:00 because apparently this is their official check out time. The staff were extremely unpleasant at breakfast. Most of the time just ignoring us, not even saying hello? Really, what is this hotel?

Fantastic staff and location!! Great breakfast selection. The bathroom had an odor to it which is why rated the room 4/5, but besides that, we had a fantastic stay.

Friendly staff, small rooms, great location. I would suggest an interior revamp, dated. Drains blocked in the apartment. Restaurant is great. Food amazing. No aircons in rooms, very hot during sunmer time.

We stayed one night and would love to come back. The staff are so friendly and helpful - proper service attitude. The breakfast spread is wonderful. Very central location to explore the town.

The Stellenbosch Hotel is located in the heart of Stellenbosch easy walking to all the towns amenities. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are very nice. I stayed here a week and enjoyed getting to know the staff and eating at the affiliated restaurant. Breakfast is very good and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
