The Stellenbosch Wine Bar and Bistro

My partner and I had a wonderful evening in Stellenbosch after friends recommended the restaurant to us. Located in an inner courtyard with a Mediterranean ambience. Very friendly, attentive and prompt service (Michelle). Simple menu with a well-curated wine selection. Coming from Germany, I found the game loin with spätzle to be superb. The white chocolate crème brûlée was also excellent. On a hot summer's day like today, the Guardian Peak Chenin Blanc, light but pleasantly fruity with little acidity, was ideal. Overall, everything was good value for money. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Very nice place with delicious cuisine and great wine list from Stellenbosh. I ordered prime namibian beef carpaccio. It was really good. So fresh and delicious sauce in melon salad! Also could recommend rump steak. For the sweet we ordered tiramisu with hazelnut liqueur. It was perfect! I do recommend to visit this place when you are in Windhoek.

On the final night of my 10-day journey through Namibia, I decided to treat myself—and this restaurant turned out to be the perfect choice. The dining space is spacious, spotless, and filled with a welcoming atmosphere. I went with the staff’s recommendation, the ribeye steak, and it was truly outstanding. As a Japanese traveler, I’ve had the chance to enjoy many kinds of steak, including wagyu back home, but this ribeye easily ranks among the best I’ve ever tasted. Paired with a glass of red wine, it made for an unforgettable evening. If you’re looking for a perfect steak experience in Windhoek, this is absolutely the place to go!

Amazing place . An excellent wine collection and a beautifully curated selection. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, always one step ahead — she took care of everything before we even had to ask. We felt genuinely well looked after.🩷

What a beautiful location for a special dinner on the first night of our honeymoon. Fantastic courtyard setting with excellent and friendly staff. And then there’s the food - wow. Superbly cooked and seasoned Tomahawk washed down with delicious wine from a very substantial list.

Lovely al fresco terrace dining area, friendly bar service but unfortunately the food was subpar. Our beef short rib was dry and unpleasant, and the steak was just very ordinary and rather chewy. Shame the Food quality doesn’t match its aesthetics.

Tried both the dry-aged and wet-aged steaks—each was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. Their wine selection is impressive and well-curated, adding to the overall experience. It’s a reliable choice for quality steaks, good wine, and attentive service—definitely worth a visit if you're in Windhoek.

Had dinner and while the atmosphere was great and the place looks really nice, both inside and outside terrace I was a bit put down by the food. Starters were good and so was the desert, but mains dissapointed and are a reason for 3 stars. For a place that praises itself on meat (beef) my steak was definitely not medium rare, was chewy and honestly worst piece of meat I had during my Namibian trip. The other main we ordered was vegetarian and while not expecting much it managed to dissapoint. Boiled veggies and tofu, but just boiled. Not even salt and pepper. Too bad that such a nice place with excellent service couldn't have done a better job with food.
