"We also tried to meet for lunch each day at The Stew Pot, Snowmass's oldest eatery where kids can mutilate grilled cheese sandwiches while grown ups refuel with hearty stews and craft beers." - Travel + Leisure Editors

I could eat here every day! Cozy atmosphere, attentive friendly staff, fun bar, and the most delicious food. Daily soup and stew specials - it would take me a month to try everything they have to offer (believe me I’ve tried). Every soup, stew, and salad is incredible. And the chicken salad sandwich is unreal (how is that even possible? Had it TWICE this past visit). Don’t be deceived by the small lower level - there is a larger space (and bar) upstairs. And, a carryout window when you feel like eating in the comfort of your hotel room!

Google
Definitely a good place to stop by to get very good stews, also the price is very reasonable too!

Google
I ordered the old fashion beef soup and it was impressive, the servers were very good and the food delivery was very quick (see image below). The restaurant was opened for 54 years which is very impressive to learn.

Google
Go for the Pastrami and Pork Habanero Stew. Stay for the beer or aperol spritz and local feel. Great spot !! I went 2x during the week and brought my crew. It's a must eat while on the Mountain.

Kim W

Google
The most delicious beef stew and apple pie in the whole world. And incredible hot cocktails! Perfect place to warm up after skiing

Ian

Google
Really nice restaurant with nice indoor and outdoor seatings. Also a bar on the second floor. Their stew is really great. Highly recommend.

Google
Best meal in Snowmass Village. The hardest part is deciding what to order. All of the soups, stews, salads and sandwiches are fantastic. Pay attention to the stew of the day too. Very friendly service and comfortable atmosphere.

Google
Very friendly staff. Delicious stews, soups, sandwiches, and drinks. I tried the pastrami sandwich with a side of chips and a pickle. I also ordered a “Painkiller” frozen mixed drink with the optional floater. I believe dark rum. Both are very delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The establishment is clean, quaint, friendly, and has local artworks for sale. Highly recommend making a stop here during your time in Aspen Snowmass. Ask about the history of the building :)

Yelp
Overall: 5/5 Great and quick service. Perfect after a long day of skiing. Food is filling and perfectly seasoned. In addition, cost is reasonable compared to some restaurants in the Aspen area. This is our go-to spot when we visit Aspen. Service: Service is attentive, they explained the soups on the daily menu and food came out quickly. They were also pretty attentive with filling our waters whenever low and would check in on us frequently Food: Irish Lamb Stew: 5/5 - Hearty stew filled with plenty of veggies served over mashed potatoes. This is very filling and perfectly seasoned Green Chile Chicken: 5/5 - filled with so much chicken and other veggies. Reminded me of a chicken tortilla soup. The waiter said it is a bit spicy but I would say it isn't spicy at all Tomato Cheddar: 5/5 I love how the tomato soup is a bit thicker, making it very hearty. Would be perfect to go with a grilled cheese sandwich! Ambiance: It is a lively restaurant with two levels of seating. This restaurant is definitely on the casual side. It is located in Snowmass Mall so you can easily stop by for a nice lunch in the middle of your Ski Session. Price: Prices are reasonable, especially in Aspen. For the 3 dishes we ordered, it came to be around $60. Plenty of food so worth it to me.

Yelp
Delicious offerings Service was good but bread not included, you need to request it. Ambience is not fabulous but adequate.

Yelp
This is one of the most popular (and the oldest?) restaurants in Snowmass ...and also one of the most highly rated...so we had our first meal here. Located in this charming little Snowmass Mall, this restaurant was actually not so charming (sorry!)...but rather just basic and quaint in decor-ambiance. As their name implies, their specialty was the stew (and various soups?). Majority of the foods were very casual lunch type basics, like sandwiches. They also had some good combos. Anyway, I ordered their Ham & Brie Panini, and a cup of their Old Fashioned Beef Stew. My husband Caesar Salad, and a bowl of their Beef Stew. My son ordered Chicken Salad Sandwich, with Chips. Overall, I thought their foods were solid...but considering its price points, I expected a bit more. Guess I also expected more because this is Aspen...and I saw their high ratings and all the recommendations?? Think we all felt the same as we left. The foods were good, but just nothing too special. Still, it's a quintessential ski resort type foods, so we didn't regret checking them out.

Tony J.

Yelp
Restaurant in the Snowmass Mall area. Has stews and also sandwiches and salads on the menu. Went there on a weekday at 5-ish and the place wasn't busy. Has a small takeout area on the ground floor and a larger seating and bar area on the second floor accessed by some narrow spiral stairs. You can leave the 2nds floor to the outdoor stairs which are a bit easier to navigate if you are in ski boots. Got one of their specials for the day, a Guinness lamb stew. It's about $30, and size is in between their medium and large servings. It's a thick and hearty stew with some pieces of lamb and veggies over mashed potatoes. Tasted alright, but notoutstanding. I think I probably should have ordered their large beef stew for slightly more to get a bigger portion.

Maria S.

Yelp
One of the best places for lunch on Snowmass. Hearty soups, fresh salads, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Personal favorites: Old Fashion Beef Stew, Caesar Salad, Chicken Chipotle Wrap, Tomato Cheddar Soup

Ben C.

Yelp
Best spot for lunch in Snowmass/Aspen. Totally unpretentious. Soups and stews are all excellent. Get the Habanero Pork stew, the old fashioned beef or the chicken (forget what it was called...like a pot pie). Crawfish gumbo was also great while it lasted.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a warm cup of stew or soup on a cold day?? This place was much welcomed by us when wondering around Snowmass Village and trying to keep warm. We had our pup with us so we sat outside and I'm proud to say, he was a good boy the entire time. Service was quick and almost all of our table got the green chili, I was a rebel and got the Habernero Pork since I was looking for a little kick of spice. Thats exactly what it brought, nothing overpowering so if you want flavor and kick, this is the stew for you. My only complaint was that it could have been hotter, I wanted it to scorch my mouth a little on a cold afternoon but again, thats just me. Word on the street is that they recently renovated the upstairs so now they have a bar up there when you an get your drink on!

Tim L.

Yelp
Such an amazing little restaurant. They do the best sub sandwich and Snowmass. Their pork green chili Verde stew is amazing. They do a delicious Cobb salad. Everything on the menu is just excellent. And the staff make sure that you are taken care of and not lacking for anything. Great spot to sit on the mall and people watch too

Darsweil R.

Yelp
This was amazing food! Fresh ingredients well prepared. I wanted to lick the bowl but my momma taught me better!!

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
The stew pot at night and the coffee pot in the morning- such a versatile eatery in the snow mass village mall. During my short stay, I tried both and had a great experience both times. The guy who knows works here was so nice and could remember my order from the night before when I came for coffee in the morning lol! At the stew pot, I had the avocado veggie sandwich with veggie chill (no cheese) and it really hit the spot. Their menu is perfect for fall because it's full of delicious soups, sandwiches, paninis and salads. It was a rainy evening and soup was exactly what I needed. I like that they have veggie options! The sandwich had a generous amount of avocado and fresh veggies. The spouts were a delightful addition and added a refreshing crunch. Paired with my warm and flavorful veggie chile, I was in heaven! I had an americano the next morning and it was so good. All of the breakfast items looked great! This restaurant has everything you're looking for from breakfast to dinner.

Lara C.

Yelp
This was perfect after a long day of hiking and biking. It was a cool night and we enjoyed our stews in outdoor seating. The prices are fair and big hearty portions! We had the pastrami sandwich (comes on pretzel bread!), beef stew, and chicken green chille stew.

Chris W.

Yelp
Great spot in the mall. Dine in or take out. We made the mistake of going here on our last day. We would have eaten here EVERY DAY! Amazing menu and great food. Caring owner and waitstaff. A shame only 5 stars 'cause they're worth 10.

Greg M.

Yelp
Right on, Stew Pot!!!!! Few places on the Mall at Snowmass Village are worth your time but Stew Pot gets everything right. They offer more than stew and the menu rotates regularly so making specific recs is silly. Every time we eat here the food is deeply flavorful and balanced. Service is generally very attentive and the vibe is fun. To be sure, it is still "Aspen prices", like $18 soup, but it is oddly worth it.

Nathan C.

Yelp
Awesome best stew ever. Great service and Atencion, the ambience is also great. Price is very good and the quality of the food is awesome

Matthew S.

Yelp
Excellent Pork and Habanero Stew! Good level of heat without cooking your tastebuds. Attentive, fun staff who exceeded my expectations. Will be back the next time in town.

Barbara S.

Yelp
Delicious fresh food, frirndly , accommodating wait staff, beautiful flowers and hummingbirds in summer!

Glinda M.

Yelp
Limited daily menu. Our order was take away and was hot 30 minutes later when we began our meal. The homemade bread was delicious and the beef stew tasted just like my grandma's. The beef was tender!! The only negative is that the stew was a bit on the greasy side. However, I'd definitely go back and order it again!

Pranjali S.

Yelp
They are the oldest restaurant in Snowmass, which means we had to visit! We came here for lunch and got seated immediately. The restaurant ambience isn't too fancy or quaint but the wonderful smells get your appetite going. We got the turkey cranberry sandwich with a side of the habenero pork stew and the portobello panini with a side of the old fashioned beef stew. I also ordered a peppermint patty (hot chocolate, peppermint schnapps and whipped cream) and my friend got the snicken pie slice for dessert. I loved my portobella sandwich - mushrooms, red pepper, avocado, pesto sauce and a very yummy bread bun! It was heavy though and I only had half. My friend didn't like her turkey cranberry as much. The stews on the other hand were delicious. The habenero pork is an absolute must have if you come here. The old fashioned beef stew is just like what a homemade beef stew would be like. The meat was chewy for me though. Still finished it! The peppermint patty was delicious! It combined my love for hot chocolate and excess peppermint perfectly! The snicker pie was like the Snickers chocolate in a pie. I don't like Snickers, so I didn't like it but my friend did. Good visit. Glad we came!

Kevin L.

Yelp
The stew is VERY GOOD. I can't wait to come back when I come here in the winter. I had the green chili chicken and my friend got the beef stew. Both are fantastic.

Maila L.

Yelp
Comfort food when you're exhausted! Service is great, also. They have a big menu with salads and sandwiches. They also have a daily stew and soup specials. It's a nice way to end the day. I was very happy!

John P.

Yelp
OMG, the clam chowda was ON POINT! The right mix of savory seasonings and a heaping of chopped clams. The bread was also really good with a slight sweet/cinnamon taste to it.

Tom F.

Yelp
Great food and drink provided by nice people. Soups and stews are noteworthy! Great upstairs bar.

Emma T.

Yelp
After a busy day of hiking and running in the heat I wanted a filling meal, but nothing to hot and heavy. I browsed menus at several restaurants in Snowmass Village and settled on the Stew Pot and ordered the Portobello Panini. The sandwich is a perfect one for a hot summer day. It is a warm pressed sandwich, but the savory pesto, red peppers, mushrooms, and cheese make a filling meal without making you feel sick after a day in the sun. The bread was really fresh, crusty on the outside, but nice and soft inside. The sandwich was big and half was filling for me, so will save the remainder for lunch tomorrow. It was also served with a generous serving of potato chips and pickles. The service was great! I ordered takeout and sat on the patio with my dog until my order was ready. The waitress brought water for both me and my dog. The order was ready quick and I was on my way. I would highly recommended!!

Truth T.

Yelp
Yummy but never seems to be a big enough portion for the price. If the portions were a bit bigger I would probably go there twice as much. No Apple Pay is also a bummer.

N P.

Yelp
The habanero pork stew is fantastic. Of all the restaurants in Snowmass, this is my favorite. The paninis don't disappoint and my kids enjoyed the old fashioned beef stew and chicken noodle soup. I love that they ate a healthy meal instead of the typical chicken fingers.

Shauna T.

Yelp
The Stew Pot - oh how I love you! This is the perfect place to warm up after an afternoon on the slopes; convenient location in the heart of Snowmass village. I am absolutely obsessed with the Old Fashion Beef Stew - hearty, savory, melt in your mouth beef. You really can't go wrong with any of the staples or the rotating soups of the day. Cute cozy setting with a modest spiral staircase that takes you to the main dining area. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Top it all with a warm cocktail (don't knock it 'till you've tried it!), I'm looking at you, Peppermint Patty! My only regret is not trying the sandwiches... I'll be back for ya!

Sharon R.

Yelp
The Stew Pot is the oldest standing restaurant in Snowmass Village. We sat upstairs by the large window. Plenty of original character to the building which means there's some charm to the place, no doubt. Very happy that they had vegan chili after a day out in the cold. We tried: - vegan chili plate: a burrito with vegan chili (hold cheese and sour cream) in a spinach tortilla. Topped with avocado and salsa. Came with a large salad. - cup of chili. the vegan chili was so good that we had to order more. Heavy on the beans and slightly on the sweet side - spinach salad with mushrooms (no cheese) Other than good food, and open nice ambiance upstairs, everyone was really nice. Wish they moved away from meat, and it's terrible that they sell lamb.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Fun place with vegan options. It's very, and I mean very, casual so not the place if you are looking for anything fancy, but the food is good and the service awesome!

Betsy O.

Yelp
The Stew Pot is a classic on the Snowmass mall. Their soups and stews are always very good. It's a great spot for lunch when you're out skiing. Kitchen can be a little slow, but the staff is always very friendly. We'll go back again!

Doc F.

Yelp
Can we talk about this burrito they have called the "chili burrito plate"? I would drive all the way back to Aspen to have it again! Soooo delicious :) The patio was great although definitely cold haha but just such a cute place and who doesn't love soup in winter. (My mom got some type of stew and loved it) Service was decent for the most part, our server maybe seemed a little impatient with mama but then again she's indecisive haha It's right on the main village street too so that's fun. Definitely worth a visit for sure if you're in Snowmass.

Melanie A.

Yelp
Delicious food and I love the unique concept! What a great option for post-skiing in the winter and summer. The menu is pretty simple, but full of great options. I opted for the classic beef stew and was not disappointed! The flavor was so yummy and the ingredients were unique - not just the basic meat and potatoes. Many of their dishes are gluten free - just don't get a side of bread. Service was quick and simple, nothing special but it works. During COVID they are offering take out or have distanced tables available.

Frank M.

Yelp
What a delicious find!!! The people could not be more nice - and the ski lunch break was awesome! Grilled cheese - old school and perfect. Chicken Brunswick stew - wowza delish! You can tell very fresh and full of awesome broth, veggies and chicken - perfect. All the items perfect - for a perfect hearty or light lunch - it doesn't get much better - A++. ! A double YUM review!

Mengda J.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Aspen! If you order the daily soup, it will only cost you about 13 dollars and will serve you within 5 min.

Michael R.

Yelp
Hearty, tasty, filling stew chock full of meat and vegetables. Fairly priced relatively cheap eats for Aspen... By far my favorite meal during our visit to Aspen.

Danny B.

Yelp
It seems like it would be a good, quick ski lunch option, but it's almost like they make your soup from scratch because it takes unbelievably long to get your food. I've been several times and don't recommend you go unless you have at least an hour to 90 minutes. The soup is pretty good, basic home style sandwiches are fine, but it's difficult to justify the slowness.

George M.

Yelp
The habanero pork stew was tasty. Generous portions of nachos. Nice to sit outdoors with the hummingbirds.

Tb S.

Yelp
Great place for comfort food. As name suggest stews and soups are there specialty, but lighter options of sandwiches and salads are also good. Summer outdoor dining really pleasant ambiance. Great value for food and service.

Heidi W.

Yelp
Snowmass Village absolute must stop every single time we visit! Food is always fresh, service is fast, friendly and efficient. Our server Alaina was a doll.

Erbira B.

Yelp
We loved this place! One of the few casual places at Snowmass Mall that has indoor seating. This is important when it's snowing! The stews are delicious (I had the traditional beef stew, my husband had the habanero pork stew). We also had the grilled cheese and tuna salad sandwiches. Service was very friendly. Will definitely come back.

Caroline G.

Yelp
Excellent food especially the green Chile chicken stew! Sandwiches, salads, of course the soups and stews, plus homemade guacamole -- delicious. Great drinks too. My favorite is the Sweet Caroline.

David C.

Yelp
Pork Habanero stew... Pork Habanero stew... Pork Habanero stew... Pork Habanero stew... Pork Habanero stew... Pork Habanero stew... I said my peace... everything else is great as well.

Nadine B.

Yelp
LOVE this place!! Our whole group of 11 people did! We stayed in Snowmass 5 nights, and went to dinner at Stew Pot 3 of those nights: Yes, that's how good it is! I think that says everything right there :) . Their soups, stews, chili and salads are all homemade and amazing! We wish we had found this restaurant on the first night we were there. They have different soups and stews each day, which are up on a bulletin board or you can ask the server. Service was awesome. You can also ask the server which soups/stews have gluten or not in them, and they'll be happy to help you out!

Daniel K.

Yelp
This place is excellent! Very friendly staff. Lots of seating upstairs. The habanero pork stew was fabulous & very spicy. My wife had their hot pastrami sandwich and that is a winner as well. Great place and will eat here again.

Korey C.

Yelp
Last February 2021 we grabbed a meal to sit and dine in as well as one to go. Located in the Snowmass Mall smack in the middle with window views of the outdoors mall walk path. Across from live music entertainment for all passing through or stopping by. Comparable to a home cooked meal with perfect portions and reasonable price $$. We are heading back this month and plan to grab another meal here for sure

Mell B.

Yelp
Delicious Habanero Pork Stew nicely served with butter and bread. Cozy place and friendly staff at the heart of snowmass.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Love the bar at "Top Pot" - Lance is great! Good spot for lunch, apres or to watch a game.

Gary W.

Yelp
Outstanding comfort food in Snowmass Mall, steps from the slopes at Snowmass. A must visit for a casual, warm, hometown feel restaurant serving up fantastic varieties of stews, soups and sandwiches. Be prepared...small restaurant with two small floors, seating a total of no more than about 30-40 people, and generally a wait to be seated. Our favorites included the Habanero Pork Stew, Rosemary Chicken Stew, Chicken Noodle Soup, and the Cowboy Beef Stew. Each were flavorful, packed with great vegetables and ingredients and warmed your body and soul on a cold night. Service was nice, helpful and efficient and we greatly enjoyed the experience. We will be back!

Chris M.

Yelp
Been to many of ski villages. One of the best. Good times. Great service. Thank you Rubia. Cheers!

Ellen S.

Yelp
I stopped in for soup and a sandwich to go. Soup was delicious and a plentiful size. No complaints. Give it a try!
