Great place for quality wine and wine. Place felt comfortable and warm. Staff was friendly, attentive and had great knowledge on wine and cheese. Had the wine and cheese paring, lasagna and porchetta. Each wine and cheese was well curated. The lasagna was cooked perfectly, meat was very tasty and had the right amount of cheese. The porchetta was tender, juicy and had crispy skin.

My nights at The Stinking Bishops in Enmore are always unforgettable! The menu never disappoints, everything from the Eye Fillet Steak Tartare to the pistachio-crusted lamb cutlets was incredible. The famous Mac 'n Cheese, voted the best in Sydney, definitely lived up to the hype! What really blew me away, though, was the wine pairings. The selection from Italy, France, and Argentina complemented the cheeses perfectly, and I absolutely loved it. To top it off, the warm ricotta cheesecake was the perfect sweet finish. Oh, and don’t miss their Happy Hour deal, cheese and wine pairing for just $40pp. It's such a great experience!

They have an incredible selection of n cheeses and charcuterie on offer. The staff are helpful and can curate a board for you if you don’t know what to choose - like we did. I’ll be coming again with my girlfriends.

We love Stinking Bishops. Everything about the experience is great - the warm welcome, staggeringly impressive cheese and wine lists, attentive service and most of all, the lively, fun atmosphere. Steph will curate a beautiful charcuterie board for you or you can choose your own combo, then move on to some other menu delights. The meatballs are the best I've ever tasted. And the cocktails - a gorgeous, innovative selection. My favourite is the mulled wine spritz - tangy, refreshing and delicious. I'm ever grateful to have discovered this heaven via our daughter and her partner.

If i could give them a million star I would! Their customer service is impeccable. The cheeses and meats are out of this world. Their drinks menu is fantastic. If you love cheese, YOU HAVE TO GO THERE!

Google
if you’re a cheese lover, the stinking bishops is heaven on earth. we went for the cheese and wine pairing during happy hour—just $40 per person, such a steal! the experience was amazing, especially trying the king of cheese, so strong and full of flavor. we also got the charcuterie board with 3 meats, and the chili-spiced one was definitely the standout. the chicken liver parfait surprised me—much stronger than expected but really interesting. the meatballs were my absolute favorite, so warm, so comforting. the mac and cheese was ridiculously cheesy (in the best way), and the steak tartare with truffle cheese was so fresh and flavorful. highly recommend checking this place out for an unforgettable cheese feast!

The male staff member was so friendly! He recommended a menu item and made a delicious coffee! The latte art was also amazing, and the coffee tasted really great!👍🏻👍🏻 I ordered the toast with four kinds of cheese, and it was absolutely delicious! Next time, I’d love to try a different toast too!

Great selection of cheese. Cheese and mushroom nice but wish they would upgrade to nicer bread, so wouldn’t rush back for the toastie. Our friends said the baguette was delish, so I’d try that next time.

Yelp
Ok, I'm going to be roughly the hundredth person to testify that this place is amazing--with a few caveats. The food here is stunning, but it's really the wine and cheese pairings that are the star attraction. Seriously, my first visit was six weeks ago, and I'm still gushing about it. My partner and I took every recommendation the staff offered and did not regret it. However, what you should keep in mind is that this place is tiny, and does not take reservations on Fridays or Saturdays, so you take pot luck on seating and volume. So, for instance, I probably couldn't take my parents here, but if I could convince my partner to spend his next Christmas bonus (oh yeah, this place ain't cheap) roughly 10 months in advance, well I would go back tomorrow. So when you want a really nice meal, but with a slightly inconvenient twist, march right on in and order everything.

Yelp
When you think of cheese platters and cured meat. Look no further. Stinky Bishop is now our favourite restaurant to indulge in all kinds of cheeses and meats. We stuffed our faces with our favourite cheeses including the "Stinky Bishops" a must try, the Domaine de Bresse (mild blue cheese) and finally the semi hard Sartorial Pastorale. We accompanied the cheeses with the truffle salami, smoked Wagyu beef and cabeccra. We highly recommend this place for a lunch! Service was great and staff provided great recommendations.

Yelp
As someone who doesn't know much about cheese the staff were very friendly and accommodating and helpful in recommending some based on my preferences and all were enjoyable. Very laid back atmosphere during the day great place for a coffee too. On the slightly more expensive end for a cheese board I thought but I guess they're specialised and selection is unmatched.

Yelp
Love cheese?? This place is almost too gouda to be true! Stinking Bishops is a tiny little joint near Newtown Station with a casual unpretentious atmosphere. In spite of its teeny size, this place has stilton maintained its dominant role in Sydney's cheese scene. Furnished like a rustic French kitchen, one half expects a rosy-cheeked mustached cliche in white chef attire to come running out with cheese and wine to serve it in a delightful French twang. But I digress. Girls, simply put this is perfect for a date with your man-chego or a post-dinner cheese and wine fete. On arrival, you will be presented with separate specialist cheese and wine lists. Ask for a recommendation (and a wine to pair it with). We had a selection of 2 platters of 3 cheeses ($29 ea) with wine to go with it. I pretty much fell into a cheese-induced coma after two cheese platters, and I camembert much what happened after. They do meat and some standard menu items, but the cheese selection is the star of the show! Stinking Bishops are getting pretty popular, so feta get in there early to bag a seat! (The writer freely gives you her parmesan to drop these cheese puns at your next dinner party)

Yelp
Love this place. They always have an amazing selection of cheeses and wines to go with it. What's more, staff are really amazing at recommending choices based on pointers you give them. I asked for a blue cheese that wasn't too strong and was creamy, and what I was recommended was exactly what I wanted. And then there's their Nduja! oh my God the Nduja. This is fermented, handmade, spicy spreadable salami. Need I say more?

Yelp
Hipster paradise, here at Stinking Bishops. The waiters were hip and Inner West. The patrons looked like they were in the know. The first times I'd looked, they seemed to close early in the day, but I believe demand is high and they're now open for dinner every night but Sunday and Monday. We grabbed a reservation for a meal before seeing Avenue Q at the Enmore Theatre a few weeks ago. The thing is: we should have done their specialties: plates of cheese and charcuterie. But their fish pie looked soooo good. So good that both of us had the same thing. And you know, it was absolutely delicious. With some tasty wine, it was a perfect pre-theatre meal, though having only tried one thing on the menu, I can't say that it feels like I've properly experienced it. (A stone's throw away from Hakiki, I'd recommend grabbing some Turkish ice cream down the way for dessert...)

Yelp
We arrived there about 7pmish on a Friday and were told it would be around a 45min wait. After having a couple drinks at The Warren View Hotel we received a call saying they had a couple seats for us and we were ecstatic. The wait staff were extremely helpful with our selection of cheeses and very informative. They advised us of the matching wines and poured out a little for my friend to sample before making her selection. We were seated at the counter and watched old mate work his magic on slicing all the cheeses. It was like watching a teppanyaki chef at work except with delicious gooey and hard cheese. He was giving us a cheese history lesson as he went through his routine and it made the whole experience one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. At the end of the night we were in a cheese coma and this was just after eating a 3 cheese board and the mac 'n' cheese. Overall a great experience with amazing staff and delicious food. If you love cheese The Stinking Bishops is heaven.

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite places in Sydney! We had to wait over an hour to get in on a Saturday night but it was totally worth the wait! You can get cheese and meat boards - the staff can provide recommendations if you have a tough time choosing from all the options. You should also definitely have the mac and cheese - it's phenomenal!

Yelp
My eyes widened and mouth watered when I came across this place on timeout. What a brilliant idea, in amongst all the wine bars opening up, to bring to the table a similar idea but with the main event being the stuff everyone really lusts for (the cheese). It lived up to its rep ten fold. The "Holy Goat Bridget well Ashed Log" from vic was a highlight. I recommend just going in blind and letting the waiter choose your cheeses for you. I will not rest until I've tried every cheese on the menu. So yes, will be going back.

Yelp
Lovely spot. We arrived late morning and just asked for a tray of selected cheeses - server's choice. He gave us some very interesting tastes and instructed us on what order to try them. Even though it wasn't quite noon, we decided a glass of red wine (again, server's suggestion) was a good idea. It was fabulous! They serve dinner on a very limited menu and I was disappointed I didn't have time to go back but will do so on my next visit. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. The food being prepared for lunch and dinner was done right in front of us and the ingredients were fresh and they took care in making salads, etc. Definitely a place worth a visit for a relaxed snack of cheeses and a glass of wine or for dinner. (I took home the same selection of cheeses we had eaten and had them at a dinner party that night).

Yelp
I've always loved the look of this place from the outside and the menu is innovative and curious. However I'd heard from a few friends that the reputation for service was not good... "too cool for school". Regardless I sent my parents along before a concert as they are huge cheese fans. Only two tables were taken, they walked in and stood like lemons for the next 7 minutes as they were ignored. No one approached them, asked them if they would like to be seated or offered a table. They walked out and no one even attempted to stop them. Not good.

Yelp
cheese and meats boards, ask for the recommendations. the deconstructed cheesecake is a must!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing cheese bar. Our server recommended a soft blue cheese which was out of this world. He also explained to us the origin of Comte, which I highly recommend as well. Brilliant wines as well. And phenomenal service!

Yelp
Great selection of cheeses and Australian wines! We had a cheese board and mains for a birthday this year - you can select the cheeses for your board from a chalkboard on the wall which is a bit of fun! It's not all cheese though, we had great mains as well. Kitchen closes early and there are no reservations for small groups - we were happy to have a drink across the road however with a wait of over an hour, it's a good idea to get down there early.
