The Stop

The Stop was perfect for our one night stay in Galway. Our room was tiny - smallest bathroom ever - BUT the place is so stylish and beautifully curated with local artists' work. Also, every detail is carefully considered so that you have everything you need. The host Russell and his staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. The parking out back is a huge bonus, and it is a super easy walk into the Latin Quarter. Don't miss the walk out to the memorial to children who died of famine.

The Stop was an incredible accommodation. We loved the art, atmosphere and styling of everything. It’s only a short walk into town and the parking here was free. The room had comfortable beds and a good amount of space. Breakfast was the best we had our whole trip and the hospitality was outstanding. They even gave us some must see local locations which we were so happy we went and saw! There are so many nice places to eat around the accommodation in west end. Would highly recommend staying here if you are in Galway.

This was an amazing find! The Stop is located in a very convenient area on the west side of Galway, within walking distance to the Latin Quarter, Shop St, restaurants and bars. The decor & atmosphere is very inviting, with locally sourced artwork, great music playing during breakfast and lovely furniture throughout. Russell, the owner, was personable and gave us great information on local places to visit. Katy & Alanna also gave excellent service and were very friendly. The breakfast was outstanding. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay at The Stop again!

The Stop is an excellent Bed and Breakfast in Galway run by Russell. What a lovely environment to walk into after a long drive and horrendous weather. The decor is lovely and there is a wonderful selection of art work on the walls. Our room was cosy and warm and again decorated with care and attention. The bed was so comfortable, I’m assuming it was a memory foam mattress as it was firm without being too firm. We had a great nights sleep non the less. Breakfast was outstanding. A great selection of hot and cold options. From homemade granola to pancakes with bacon. A real treat. I also really enjoyed the record player and music at breakfast. A very nice touch. Russell, who was very kind and personable also offered us some points of interest to take in on our journey north. If you’re ever in Galway and need a place to stay, The Stop is surely your best option. We hope to one day return and spend a little more time in the area.

Such an exceptional stay. I would recommend this BnB to anyone in Galway. The hospitality was amazing (their website alone is worth the stay!). Russell and the rest of the team helped provide a ton of ideas for excursions, meals, and fun things to do. The breakfast was diverse, with different options and a delicious buffet portion as well. The location is nice and quiet and just a 5 minute walk to the busy downtown. We will definitely stay here next time we are back!

Our stay at The Stop was fabulous from the friendly check-in (with the scent of baking chocolate cake wafting through) to the recommendations given by the innkeeper for dining, whiskey tasting and music (and shopping, wandering, etc). The rooms are small but perfect: the cooked-to-order breakfasts tailored to dietary needs and tastes. The ambiance warm and welcoming. A perfect end to our enjoyment of Ireland.

This is a place you think about months later after your visit and remember how good of a stay it was. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and give great recommendations of places to see and eat in Galway. Clean rooms with comfy beds. Delicious breakfast as well. Will be back

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at The Stop in Galway. The rooms were clean, the shower was refreshing, and the home-cooked breakfast was yummy! Russell and his staff were helpful with questions we had and Russell even shared with us some suggestions for our drive to Kylemore Abbey and the Connemara Natl Park. The drive was scenic and Dog Bay Beach was amazing! Thank you Russell!
