Our experience during our 5 night stay was completely excellent. The property, location, staff, food, room and especially our host, Russell, made our trip to Galway memorable. The location is very close to the West End activity area… no more than a causal 5 minute walk. There is a grocery store across the street if needed. It is also a short walk to the Bay and the beautiful promenade. |Russell is a wealth of information and is always ready to offer advice on your plans. |Excellent breakfast choices for various tastes. |Homey sitting room to sit and read or catch up on your electronic connections as the WiFi works well. |Our thanks to Russell and his staff. We were booked up until the last day of their season but we were treated royally. |We would definitely stay here again!|Paul and Maggie

We had a great stay at The Stop. It is a charming place, easily walkable to the center of Galway and many excellent restaurants. Our room was spacious, fresh, and clean---so quiet and comfortable for sleeping. We enjoyed the delicious, well-cooked breakfasts with flavorful offerings beyond the usual eggs and bacon. The staff was very accommodating and helpful with suggestions about where to eat and what to do. We loved the local art work and interior design inside, showing fine taste and the hosts' desire to make their guests feel at home. We hope to be back.

We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning. The staff was knowledgeable and provided great information on places to eat and visit. The breakfast menu provided excellent choices and everything was made to order. The music during breakfast was very calming and set a nice tone for the day. Enjoyed the interior decor. Close to downtown Galway and easily walkable. Parking was a great bonus

We had a wonderful two-night stay at The Stop. It was a delight to meet Russell and his staff who are all super friendly, informative and helpful. We really liked the simple and minimalist design of the room - everything we needed. Yes, our room and bathroom were small but very functional (and we knew the size when we booked). The downstairs lounge was warm and inviting and there were lots of books to read making it a pleasant place to relax. Breakfast was excellent and extensive with lots of choice beyond the Full Irish. Great location - close to the city but quiet and with off street parking. Make sure you take notice of Russell’s recommendations for eating. We really liked The Universal and Ard Bia and The Crane for traditional music.

I had the most incredible stay at The Stop. Russell and his team were incredibly warm, welcoming, and accommodating. I felt taken care of from start to finish. The rooms and lounge spaces are so well-designed. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious and healthy. The ambience was so warm and relaxing. I was so impressed with their attention to detail. Everything from the unique jazz music playing softly, to lit candles, to lighting, to gentle fragrance from reed diffusers scattered throughout main areas (none in the rooms; there was no detectable scent there, and I’m someone who is sensitive to fragrances and had no issues whatsoever). The energy of the team and The Stop is so calming, peaceful, and grounding that it was the perfect location after a long month of travel. Ideally located just a 10-minute walk from downtown. Can’t recommend them enough!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms were beautifully decorated and felt so cozy – just perfect for the two of us. We’d read a few reviews mentioning that the rooms might be a bit small, but honestly, we thought they were just right! There was plenty of space for everything we needed. Our host, Russel, was fantastic! He’s super friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us so many great recommendations. Thanks to him, we ended up discovering some of the best spots, and many of our favourite memories from this trip were at places he suggested. The shared living space was gorgeous and inviting, making it a lovely place to relax. And breakfast was amazing! I had pancakes, and my husband went for the BLT – both were delicious and such a treat to start the day. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home with a great personal touch, this is it. We can’t recommend it enough!

Such a cute and welcoming bed and breakfast. The hosts were so sweet and the space was well decorated. We had a lovely breakfast every morning. The location is great, a close walk to some local bars and the city center. When I return to Galway, I will be staying here again.

Excellent experience; felt very welcome and very much at home throughout the stay. Breakfast beat already high expectations, and the guest room was well-appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The front lounge was equally comfortable and welcoming.||Well situated in the city, just minutes from the River Corrib and Shop Street, but just far enough away to avoid the hectic crowds and loud bars when it was time to head to bed!||Extra points to Russ and Emer for their very warm and friendly approach to being hosts. The Stop is very much an extension of their personalities, interests, and desire to bring the best of Galway to each of their guests.
