We had loaded fries with pulled pork (~16$) and a chicken egg benedict (~25$) with two iced coffees (6,50$/each). The iced coffee was amazing and quite strong! The food was really rich in flavour with a good texture and the portion was just right! I just wish the fries would have been less soggy and more crispy, but all in all we loved it here and the ambience is amazing! So cozy! Thank you! 💕

Chose this place randomly but I was not disappointed! Had the chicken eggs Benny and it was amazing. Seriously the best brunch I've had while on my vacation. I loved that it had 1 piece of bread but also the potato rosti. The chicken was so tender and juicy. And the herb hollandaise was on another level, I have no clue what herbs but it was fantastic. Can not recommend enough.

I got the Mediterranean bowl (vegan version) and a turmeric latte. Had the best falafel of my life, it was so tender and moist.

Here is a 5-star review for the cafe "storehouse": What an incredible experience at the storehouse cafe! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the mind-blowing ambiance. The space has such a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere - it's the perfect spot to enjoy a great cup of coffee and delicious food. The storehouse is pet-friendly. The coffee here is truly top-notch. I ordered a latte and it was simply divine - rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. But the real star of the show is the food. The famous SH fried chicken and waffles are out-of-this-world delicious. The chicken is perfectly crispy and flavorful, paired with fluffy waffles and drizzled in a sweet, syrupy glaze. It's a flavor explosion in your mouth! I can't say enough good things about the storehouse. If you're looking for a charming, pet-friendly cafe with mind-blowingly good food and coffee, this is the place for you. I give it my highest recommendation and can't wait to come back again soon!

This was a great place for brunch during our short stay in Taupo. Lots of healthy options, all of which were delicious and the cafe itself had a nice interior. The food was fresh, flavourful and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

One of the best Benedict sauces I've had in a long time (and I eat/review a lot)! The bacon was requested crispy and it came out perfectly and tasted exquisite. The Tropical Smoothie Bowl was a great way to start the day with a quality granola and fresh fruit. I'll return when I'm back in the area. Strong, excellent coffee too.

Lovely food and beverages! Great selection of options. The only downfall was the eggs were slightly over cooked, but otherwise it was great. We've been here numerous times and enjoyed it every time. It hS a great space and service is friendly. It also let's dogs inside, which is awesome. Will be back for sure.

I was googling for a great brunch place in Taupo and this cafe came up. It looked like it was highly recommended and they had a fried chicken waffle on the menu, so I had to give it a go. The whole family absolutely loved their meals, and thought the cafe was brilliant. It’s in an industrial sort of area but it’s so light, and has such a great feel inside. The service was excellent even though they were busy and clearly a very popular spot. Street parking was pretty easy. An excellent find! And we’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
Great breakfast option and also very healthy! I loved the cute little store in the back with different art pieces from local artists. I would have bought some art to bring back to the US if I had space in my bag.

Yelp
2.75 star overall. I like the vibe that they're going for- hipster meets jungalow meets 80s (music). Addendum from the husband: hurry up and write the review- I wanna forget about this meal as quick as possible (totally wanted to give his two cents). 1. chocolate shake tasted like lukewarm chocolate milk- it wasn't cold enough. The fresh cream was a good topping. 2. Tater tots- crispy, but not enough gravy and cheese. Some of the tots were bare. 3. Fried Chicken sandwich- they forgot to fry it (oops) and it was under seasoned. The white bread used turned into mush from the manhandling and who the hell puts corn kernels in a chicken sandwich? Overall it was a poor execution of food which removes stars this establishment needed.

Yelp
This is a really enjoyable place. I'm so pleased I took the advice of a previous reviewer and sought it out. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming - it's popular, but you should find a spot. I stopped here for lunch on a rainy day. On my own I was able to find a seat on the mezzanine level, which overlooked the activity of the cafe below. Menu offerings are varied - I ordered the smashed avocado with pineapple (?), salad, pepitas and poached egg. I added smoked salmon. They told me the wait would be 30 minutes and it came in 20, so that was well managed. It was an unusual combination but quite good. Very colourful - I would have preferred it without all the raw onion, but that's just personal taste I guess. Coffee is excellent. Service is very good. I wouldn't hesitate to return. Well done to all and thank you.

Yelp
Great little lunch/brunch place. Cool vibe, good breakfast options, coffee and beer, nice wood stove to keep warm, communal tables. I would hang out here.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great food, awesome coffee. We came here based on past reviews and we were not let down. I got the breakfast burrito which was a lot of food. I couldn't finish it. My husband got the chicken and waffles. He really enjoyed it. Would come here again for sure. Nice and relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
Went today for brunch and as previous reviewer stated the vibe was definitely hipster. My partner and i were by far the least cool people in the joint haha. The place was pretty full so i guess it has a strong reputation amongst the locals and I'm not suprised. With a tempting looking menu and good coffee we were off to a good start. I ordered the Kumera and potato rosti whilst my partner ordered the Philly cheese steak roll. My dish looked impressive and for the most part was really tasty (the pulled pork and herb mayo were divine), unfortunately the actual rosti was burnt and rather bland in flavour. Obviously I stole some of my partners Philly cheese steak roll which was delightful albeit rather expensive for what it was. This cafe is fully capable of 4 or 5 stars but for my personal experience I have to rate it 3.

Yelp
Finally, a new cafe in Taupo that's worth talking about! Hipster haven, espresso zone and earthy chic, this mezzanine-structured old storehouse off Spa road (10 mins walk from the centre of town) offers some cool treats to those in the know. The cafe menu is simple but effective. A series of deliciously dressed bagels compete with a set of sliders and waffles with blueberries or maple & fried chicken (the latter yummy and unusual in the land of Trump, but hard to find in New Keyland). In addition, there are a breakfast burrito, vege stack and prosciutto wrapped asparagus. The coffee is Kokako, the cola is Karma and you can buy kits to grow micro-greens. At the back of the cafe is a small store filled with cool American and Japanese kitchenware, Happy Socks and men's clothes, bags and raincoats. A great place to hang out away from the rain or away from the crowds. Get there before everyone else does!

Yelp
The most terrible chicken sandwich I have ever had in my life. Who makes a chicken sandwich on limp white bread then dumps cold cheap American cheese, random pieces of corn????? AND THEN adds a ton of mustard? Just awful. Also the guy in the front was not nice at all and wasn't very helpful when I asked for a recommendation. I thought NZ was known for their kindness and hospitality? That is seriously lacking here.
