The Stuffed Dormouse

First time here, arrived and was instantly greeted by a very friendly lady a welcoming real fire. Shown through to our table in the restaurant area. Extremely clean and spacious. Lunch menu was very reasonable and the food was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitress and we felt very well catered for throughout the service. Looking forward to returning to 'The Stuffed Dormouse' ~ thank you so much.

Will say was served by a very helpful waitress. Ordered starter which was edible but not great. The main how ever was tough and bland. Because I was unable to eat my meal we were offered free desserts to take away please see the attached picture to see what we were given. Never been given such a burnt pastry before in my life. Would never eat there again or unfortunately recommend. Worst £52 ever spent left hungry.

Unique place, friendly staff. Exotic food also, which is a nice option. Tried the bison, crocodile, horse and zebra. Would highly recommend bison, tasted as good as a beef fillet steak!

Excellent surroundings varied menu reasonably priced. Some exotic meats for the more adventurous, home made chips my experience top notch.

Went there for Sunday lunch with grandaughter son and wife . Staff friendly and welcoming. Settled for two courses for £10 . We all had the roast and child's portion roast. Food was excellent and good portions good value for our money . Desserts were good with a little personal touch of a chocolate dormouse on our plates could not fault the staff or meal will be calling back there again. Would highly recommend a visit

NEVER will I set foot in The Stuffed Dormouse again which is a shame as the food was lovely. I booked a table for 5 adults, 1 child and 2 highchairs therefore you would expect to have children at the meal. All 3 children were good as gold, each had their moments. As my friends were paying I picked my daughter up and she started to cry. The manager/owner came over in front of everyone and asked me to go to the bar because “the baby is crying” I asked her to repeat herself. She once again told me to go to the bar area because “the baby is crying and it’s not fair on everyone else”. I have never been so embarrassed to the point I left the restaurant in tears. She then proceeded to tell my sister that it was affecting her business and 2 people next to us were about to get up and leave. To top this off she said to my friends at the bar “that baby” in a frustrated and obnoxious manner. It was unnecessary as we were already leaving and her attitude was disgraceful. They advertise that a “very warm welcome awaits you”. This could not be further from the truth.

For a pre birthday treat had lunch today with friends. It was superb. We chose the two for ten pounds menu as there was something to suit everyone. The meals were well presented, even a fish shaped dish for a tuna steak, and beautifully cooked. The desert menu did not disappoint either. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall a very pleasing dining experience We will certainly be returning and will recommend the Stuffed Door Mouse to everyone.

Decided to give this place another try after the bad press last summer Unknown to us when we booked it was under new management from that day. Can honestly say the food was excellent and the service second to none .Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning. Just as a matter of interest the hygiene rating is 5
