The Stunned Mullet

The food here feels like it’s trying to be something it’s not. It’s awful. The dim sims don’t even resemble real dim sims, they taste like frozen paste. The chips are tiny, and you can’t even bulk buy them. As for the potato cakes, they’re basically just slabs of potato. way too much potato and hardly any crispy coating. Overall I would not recommend for anyone. Payed 110+ and wasn’t even given normal sauce… had to get those little packet sachets. Trust this review… go to surfers it’s not that far and totally worth it compared to this gunk

I had the Lunch special of the Beer Battered Flathead. It was delicious. Crispy batter and the flathead was cooked to perfection. There are a limited number of parks available outside The Stunned Mullet, however plenty of street parking.

Came all the way from Japan to get these famous fish and chips and it was amazing. Will book my next f&c trip soon to this great place.

Busy spot, but quick turnaround. Chips were good, fish burrito is MASSIVE, and fish portions are good. They offered salads as well, that looked great. Only downside was we ordered a side sauce and we didn’t get it (was a takeaway so we just notice later). Recommend it :)

Sadly wasn’t impressed with the food here. Small portions of fish, extra greasy and shoestring fries instead of actual chips. All felt a bit on the pricey end for what you get. A potato scallop is $2.50 versus $1 in inner city Sydney! Wait time also kept extending from 10 minutes, to 15 to ultimately 25 (acknowledge this does mean it’s cooked fresh - it wasn’t busy - but best to try and give realistic times). Batter was quite nice, but I’ve had so many good fish and chips this was one of the least enjoyable. I’d save your money and go elsewhere.

Parking was easy and the shop with tables out front, clean and welcoming. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We took our time to decide what we wanted given the different attractive selection on offer. We ended up ordering the lovers combo and three kids fish n chips. The portion size were very generous and well priced - the food was lovely. I am attaching pics of the Lovers Combo & one of the kids meal for references. We ll definitely visit again.

We’re from Brisbane and have been lucky enough to have been 3 times since January (x2 dinners x1 lunch) Absolutely loved it and everything everytime was fabulous. Best BEST sweet potato chips ever and oh my goodness the twisted potato scallops and fish ( prepared in all ways) was CRAZY good. Cannot fault one thing - what an amazing place - well done guys. Top effort 💜

Ordered 1x Snapper grilled, 1x Snapper crumbed, 1x Snapper Tempura, and 2x sweet potato scallops and large salad . What I got when I looked at home was 1x Snapper grill , 1x Snapper Tempura 2 x greasyCalamari (couldn't eat it)and 2 very greasy sweet potato scallops (ate half of one) They got my order wrong , the Snapper Tempura was good Snapper grilled was greasy And the only good part was the salad . Won't be back . Too greasy and incorrect order. Update ..... Thanks for the prompt reply from the owner of offering to re do my order. Unfortunately, lunch is well and truly over, and apart from the nice salad and 1x Snapper Tempura, everything else was disappointing. Guess I should have read the reviews here before ordering .

Best calamari and chips, and to top it off the best mango smoothies I've ever tasted! Loved the little table and chairs felt like a little cute picnic area. Location is great as the beach is only a few minutes down the road. Loved it

Great fish and chips. Salads are terrific. Good meal all round.

I purchased a bloody awesome beef burger from the Kingscliff store one Saturday night. Unfortunately the burger patty was not cooked through and raw inside. What was a little concerning is the patty was quite thin so the cook shouldn't have had much issue cooking it. I'm just thankful I only took one bite before seeing it. I was too far away to bother taking it back and the store had closed by this time to call. I tried emailing the email from their website but it bounces back. I really was quite disappointed. Sometimes these things happen but I couldn't, with a clear conscious, recommend this to others.
