The Stunned Mullet

Beautiful fish and chips. Thoroughly enjoyed the whiting and potato cakes made from real slices of potato. My husband said the dimsims were excellent. We ordered take away, toddler also enjoyed the fish and potato cake. The fries ‘small’ were a big potion, I’d say enough for 3-4 people decently.

The food here feels like it’s trying to be something it’s not. It’s awful. The dim sims don’t even resemble real dim sims, they taste like frozen paste. The chips are tiny, and you can’t even bulk buy them. As for the potato cakes, they’re basically just slabs of potato. way too much potato and hardly any crispy coating. Overall I would not recommend for anyone. Payed 110+ and wasn’t even given normal sauce… had to get those little packet sachets. Trust this review… go to surfers it’s not that far and totally worth it compared to this gunk

I had the Lunch special of the Beer Battered Flathead. It was delicious. Crispy batter and the flathead was cooked to perfection. There are a limited number of parks available outside The Stunned Mullet, however plenty of street parking.

Came all the way from Japan to get these famous fish and chips and it was amazing. Will book my next f&c trip soon to this great place.

Sadly wasn’t impressed with the food here. Small portions of fish, extra greasy and shoestring fries instead of actual chips. All felt a bit on the pricey end for what you get. A potato scallop is $2.50 versus $1 in inner city Sydney! Wait time also kept extending from 10 minutes, to 15 to ultimately 25 (acknowledge this does mean it’s cooked fresh - it wasn’t busy - but best to try and give realistic times). Batter was quite nice, but I’ve had so many good fish and chips this was one of the least enjoyable. I’d save your money and go elsewhere.

Parking was easy and the shop with tables out front, clean and welcoming. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We took our time to decide what we wanted given the different attractive selection on offer. We ended up ordering the lovers combo and three kids fish n chips. The portion size were very generous and well priced - the food was lovely. I am attaching pics of the Lovers Combo & one of the kids meal for references. We ll definitely visit again.

45 min wait on a lrg chips (that is quite small compared to other places) Came out cold. Had to ask for them to be reheated which was quickly done. Didn't seemed to be that busy, another couple said they were waiting quite a while too.

Ordered the whiting thinking it was going to be normal whiting to find out when we got home it wasn't. Very disappointing. Oily, tasteless. My friend ordered the potato scallops and had to wipe the oil away. Snapper was tasteless. Very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Best calamari and chips, and to top it off the best mango smoothies I've ever tasted! Loved the little table and chairs felt like a little cute picnic area. Location is great as the beach is only a few minutes down the road. Loved it

Great fish and chips. Salads are terrific. Good meal all round.

I purchased a bloody awesome beef burger from the Kingscliff store one Saturday night. Unfortunately the burger patty was not cooked through and raw inside. What was a little concerning is the patty was quite thin so the cook shouldn't have had much issue cooking it. I'm just thankful I only took one bite before seeing it. I was too far away to bother taking it back and the store had closed by this time to call. I tried emailing the email from their website but it bounces back. I really was quite disappointed. Sometimes these things happen but I couldn't, with a clear conscious, recommend this to others.
