The Summer Hotel

We recently stayed in The Summer Hotel and in general we would stay here again but with some improvements. 1. Check that the AC unit is not positioned above electrical outlets. The first room we were allocated (511) had a leaking AC unit with water dripping down the wall, right into the electrical outlet below. See pictures. My wife got an electrical shock from this! We told the kind receptionist and she suggested that someone could fix this. We refused a “fix” as we had no confidence that this would permanently solve the issue and be safe. It is a room design issue more than anything. We’ve seen leaking AC units before and they’re not uncommon. We requested and were given another room. 2. Avoid staying in a room next to the AC condenser units at the end of the corridor. The room we stayed in was 410 which is close to these AC condenser units. I have attached a picture of the floor plan which I assume this is the same on each floor. In short, the noise was LOUD. If you’re a light sleeper, forget about these rooms, otherwise make sure you have good earplugs. By our bedside, at night it was around 55 decibels. We only stayed for 3 nights and used earplugs so didn’t ask to move room. If we were staying for longer, we would have asked to move. 3. We would have liked to use the swimming pool but the green algae/staining around the edge of the pool put us off. In spite of these issues, we did like the hotel and would stay again. As we do not know if these issues have been resolved or not, we have left this review to alert other travellers to be aware.

We had a room like in a better jail. No window to look outside. After giving a bad response via google map, the management forced me to delete this, otherwise they will contact booking com that they kick us out from their site. This was enough for us, so we changed the hotel one day earlier. Here you can read, what they wrote to me. The breakfast was without butter, but a good omelette. The staff is very friendly, not so the management. It is close to restaurants. THIS IS WAS THE MANAGEMENT WROTE TO ME : "Sie haben eine neue Nachricht von The Summer Hotel Sie teilt Ihnen Folgendes mit: So when booking a room, you should pay attention to choosing the right room type with a window with a higher room price. If you choose a cheap room without a window and make things difficult for the hotel, it is not advisable. On top of that, you also write a bad review on Google 1*, which is not good and not a true tourist. Please change this bad behavior to avoid the situation where the hotel has the right to report to Booking.com and not allow you to continue booking on Booking.com's platform. Please stop writing bad reviews for hotels. If you have written them, please edit them. That is how you become a real tourist." No more to say about this hotel, I think. So my conclusion: Ask for a window.

We are a family of three – two adults and one child – and we stayed at this hotel for 7 days. We highly recommend it! Excellent location, clean rooms, comfortable beds, fresh towels, and all necessary toiletries provided daily. Throughout our stay, we were warmly welcomed at the reception by very kind ladies, especially Chi and Y Nguyen. Most of the staff speak good English, and everyone was extremely friendly. At breakfast in the café, we were always greeted by a lovely lady, and the entire team was polite and welcoming. We truly recommend this hotel. Thank you very much for the great service!

This is a modern clean hotel with a nice rooftop pool and comfortable common areas. It is in the best location in Nha Trang city. The staff are competent, friendly and helpful. There is an excellent buffet breakfast with a changing menu. My basic double room was modern but cramped for space. The bathroom was excellent except the water from the shower head went horizontally making showering awkward. There is only one elevator to the top 5 floors resulting in long wait times. This is a problem in virtually every modern Nha Trang hotel. My room got a lot of traffic noise and a background mechanical noise at night that made sleeping difficult. The blowback from the air conditioners turned the corridor to my room into a daytime sauna. There was very limited space to hang damp or wet clothes in my room and bathroom In spite of the negatives, the Summer Hotel, overall, is good value for money.

Although we arrived at 2am, but the front desk staff was so nice and helpful, there was no surcharge or any extra fees. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good.

Decent hotel, slept well and a good location. Swimming pool was quiet there was lots of space to relax on the top of the building. Rooms a bit outdated but comfy bed. However it was quite noisy, you could hear the service staff loudly in the morning moving equipment and if someone was showering in the next room. Breakfast was also a bit limited.

We are coming to the Summer Hotel the second time cause we find it nice and worthwhile. The beach is 5 mins walk from the hotel and the choice of places to eat around is enormous. We liked our room with a big window in the bathroom but without a balcony. All rooms are different, so check out what is a priority for you. Definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel itself is quite good. Super nice breakfast and a lot of options. However, the walls are thin and soundproofing isn’t great either, so you can hear a lot of noise.
