Amazing cheese selection and variety and super helpful employees! Loved the baguettes and all the cheese we got - plus they have these cute wooden gift boxes and baskets that you can choose from to make the perfect gift like I did for my dad!

I never thought there would come a time where I want to rate a store with more stars than I'm allowed to, and here comes Summit Cheese Shoppe. Whenever I arrive I always pause outside the door for a few seconds and say to myself, "Okay Sean, let's just get one or two things," and before my eyes can catch up I'm walking out with 6 types of everything, heading home, eating it all and sitting back thinking to myself, "this was good, you did good today." Every time I walk through those doors I'm greeted as if I've been family forever, and every option of meats, cheeses and whatever provisions you can imagine are some of the most mouthwatering bites of perfection known to mankind. Do not come here if you do not like great selection, taste and customer service.

Great little cheese shop. They don't have three most extensive selection, but what cheese they do have is quite excellent. I was very happy with all the cheese I bought. We will be returning in the future!

So glad we decided to stop in! The owners are very friendly and very knowledgeable about cheese. They ask each person what the occasion is (not that you need one) and what sort of cheeses they like, and curate 2-3 cheeses for you to try. Prices are good too!

Must visit cheese shop for people who love cheese. Even if it is out of the way! The selection of cheese is overwhelming, everything is delicious, they have different kinds to please everyone. The owners are very nice, you don't meet people like this every day, they will help you make the right (for your taste) selection. Extremely happy to find them!

This cheese shop has sandwiches as well as a huge selection of cheeses. Very fast service and delicious! I had a turkey sandwich on french bread with balsamic. Sooo good! They also have some italian dry goods and snacks to choose from. I will be back for more!

Trying to imagine what kind of people do not get along with Pam and Paul. Two of the nicest most helpful people I know. Great senses of humor and great knowledge of cheese. They bend over backward to please clients. One reviewer says he wanted "fresh cheese" and was disappointed with the service. Too funny.

In my experience Paul and Pam are more than happy to give everyone attentive and very personal service. They not only know everyone's name, they remember what kinds of cheeses their customer's prefer and helpfully guide the experienced buyer toward new products they know they would enjoy. At the same time, they happily let both the expert or novice sample a wide selection. I am completely surprised by the negative reviews. As for Mr. Goldstein; if I owned a bar and you came in and asked for a pint of stout but demanded I open a fresh keg instead of taking one from the open tap - I'd politely tell you no as well.

Nice little shop, a good variety of cheeses and meats to make a nice board. Plenty of cracker, jam and honey options. Folks were knowledgeable and friendly.

Man oh man. This is a special place. I hope it never closes. This is a true local shop that I love supporting. I don't live in the area, but I still drive over here to get my goodies. Love coming over just to get some really good parmesan. I will also travel here to make my charcuterie board. Always has knowledgeable cheese folk that give good advice. Such a gem!

My partner and I walked by this store in 2020 before they opened under new ownership, making a note that we wanted to visit at some point. We popped in on a late Saturday afternoon to check out what cheeses we could find and the shop didn't disappoint. There's a very nice, unique selection available, so after much debate, we finally decided on one to try. The staff were helpful with our entire transaction, making our cheese adventure pleasant. There's also a small variety of other goods like bread, crackers, jams, etc. This would be a fantastic place to stop if you're visiting people and want to bring something a little different.

The cozy Summit Cheese Shoppe stands as a refreshing symbol of independence and specialization amongst the encroaching corporate and franchised restaurants on Union Plaza in Summit that try to be everything to everyone. We made the trek from Morristown to Summit specifically to check out the Summit Cheese Shoppe after seeing it featured on a local news segment. The shoppe, run by friendly and knowledgeable staff, offers a variety of locally-produced and not-so-locally-produced artisan cheeses and freshly-baked breads -- each with their point of origin clearly noted on the helpful signs. They also carry a small selection of cured meats - salami, prosciutto, and pate - and other complementary items -- crackers, olives, and preserves -- that pair well with the cheeses and breads. Summit Cheese Shoppe also offers six or eight made-to-order sandwiches and a cheese plate with three varieties of cheese. So, why the less than stellar review? When my cheese-eating companion and I made a special trip down and Summit and wandered into the store on a recent weekend afternoon about an hour and a half before the store closed for the day, the shelves were bare and there were a smaller selection of cheeses than I expected in the refrigerated display case. Looking at the photos others have posted of a fully-stocked refrigerated display case with a wide variety of meats and cheeses .. it's possible we just wandered in at the tail end of a busy day and the staff hadn't had a chance to restock the shelves. We'll have to check it out again sometime .. watch for an update here.

Darn good, pricey but quality cheese always is, no? I do miss Paul and Pam, but it's nice to have a local cheesemonger next town over.

Tucked in between all the eateries on "restaurant row" on Union Pl, is a little gem with European flair. Clean, cozy, and quaint. It has an extensive and exquisite selection of European, American, and even NJ local artisanal cheeses. Prices rage around $20-25 per Lb, but some are even more pricey. We picked up a 1/3lb 'Brie Fermier', and a 1/3lb 'Roomano 4 year go', as well as a fresh baguette for a total of $18.50. Can't wait to try!!! Mmmm... The boutique also carries meats in the back. Saw some prosciutto, speck, salami... chorizo, pate, and probably more. If you are a fan of good cheese, this a spot worth a visit.

Not the most friendly service, didn't say hello when we walked in and I didn't feel any type of happiness or excitement of working in a cheese shop. bread is definitively overpriced.

A nice local cheese shop. It is small, but what they have is very nice. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. For non-pork eaters, they have some good beef sausages.
