The Swallow Falls Inn is placed in an incredibly idyllic and peaceful location, which we had a wonderful time exploring for our NYE break away however, we were incredibly let down by the experience from the hotel itself. Placed in a ‘cosy’ room in the small block to the side of the hotel which had dated décor, we were met with nothing but dust on every surface and stains on the bedding at the foot of the bed upon arrival. The wardrobe, nightstands, tables, safe, lamps and kettle were filthy. The floor was in desperate need of a hoover, it was covered in pet hair and crumbs. After mentioning this to reception, we were told that the head cleaner was going to give our room a ‘deep clean’ – 20 minutes later she was done. It had not been cleaned to a satisfactory measure, the only changes being that she had made the bed and dusted the surfaces mentioned – bar the wardrobe. The bedding was the same, so was the floor. The only semi-clean thing about this room was the bathroom (thankfully). My mother’s room also had no heating in the peak of winter – her room was quite literally freezing, incredibly poor conditions. A basic need completely missed. In addition to this, we had a dreadful time while dining here. The first night was fine, somewhat tasty food but nothing I would rave over returning for. The second night (NYE), I had the chicken parm from the special’s menu – which the chef had conjured up in the day, despite being instructed to place our pre-order before the evening – had overcooked pasta, dry chicken and sweet, unseasoned tomato sauce. I left most of it. I also only received a quarter of a bowl of lukewarm soup to start, while a relatives who ordered the same was full. The cherry on top of this was, when we ordered, my partner asked for the steak from the special menu, which they had sold out of. If you are open to the public during a busy time such as NYE – perhaps plan the menu in advance and stock up adequately for the evening, I understand that things can sell out during this, but the dining room was not that busy, and we had paid a lot of money for this package. Incredibly disappointing. The ordering process as previously mentioned was frustrating, one minute the staff were doing table service, the next they were not and we had to go to the till to order. This information continued to be altered, resulting in four separate members of staff in the space of fifteen minutes coming over to our table to explain that we had to order at the till – which would have been fine. After this confusion a member of the team took our order anyway which just created unnecessary back and forth stress. In a nutshell, they didn’t seem to have great communication ultimately resulting in an unpleasant atmosphere for the evening. After the meal, the entertainment from 9 to midnight was carried out by a singer and in all honesty she was dreadful. After three hours of what sounded like a sheep and Shakira’s lovechild shouting down the mic, she was five minutes late to the NYE countdown… it was literally 12:05 when she came back out after her interval. The best part about her performance was the comedic value. Finally, I was mistakenly charged £53 at checkout from yet another error their side. I do not recommend this place for NYE, or a general stay.

Top marks for the Swallow Falls Inn crew They made my stay spot on. Reception efficient and accommodating Bar and restaurant attentive and helpful. Chef was also good I had a great cottage pie, vegetable soup, and lovely Full Welsh breakfast. The Swallow Falls wiskey a smooth tipple to be tried. The rooms cosy and clean. I travelled on a motorbike and was allowed to place it under cover. During my stay I travelled by bus which was handy for Ogwen Valley and Pen Y Pass. The bus stops just outside the Inn. Swallow falls are just across the road and worth the two pound fee for a visit. Thank you to the staff for making my visit so nice

We stayed here recently (January 2026) for 1 night as we wanted to see the waterfall (it's directly across from the hotel). It was quiet as it's January so the stay was really pleasant. There's a large well maintained car park which is free for those staying (just need to put your car reg on their system). We stayed in the outbuilding rather than the main building with the restaurant. It's a very short walk into the main building. We stayed in a "cosy" room which was small but nice. The room was clean and comfortable. It was warm in the room without the heating on. The bathroom had a large shower with a powerful shower. We dined in the pub and the food was good. You order at the bar and then the food is brought over. Breakfast was included in the price so we also had a cooked breakfast in the morning.

I recently had the pleasure of spending three nights here over the festive period, and everything was excellent. The food, particularly the lamb on Christmas Day, was exceptional; beautifully cooked. The service was spot on – everyone greeted us warmly and checked in on us throughout our meals. My room was comfy and clean. it’s in a great setting with some wonderful walks very close by to build up an appetite. Great place for dogs as well.

Just returned after a 2 night stay at the swallow inn..... Great location..... Fabulous, clean, spacious room, staff especially Ben were very helpful throughout our stay. Food was hit and miss if im honest (average at best) My only real criticism was the time it took to get servered at the bar, there were times where there was no member of the bar staff to be seen, we walked away without ordering a few times as we could not find anyone to serve us. Apart from the shortage of staff we had a fabulous stay, have re booked for April. Again thankyou Ben for your time aswell as very professional approach See you soon 💯🙏🙏🙏

Beautiful Inn, felt very Christmasy. And dog friendly! Only stayed for one night, great price. Was a bonus to be allowed the dog in the room and breakfast included in the price. Room was stunning and big, extremely clean (wouldn’t even know it was the dog friendly room), lots of charging points for phones etc, shower was nice and powerful (or waterfall style). Only suggestion for the room would be a couple of dog bowls for water/food and maybe a dog towel for those wet paws. We also had a slight panic moment when checking in- we arrived very late (11:30pm), couldn’t find any information about late check in and doors were locked. After 15 mins a staff member was able to check us in with no problem. Definitely think it would be beneficial for there to be a bell/ phone number to ring to get hold of the night staff for those late check ins.

We stayed for 2 nights, Check in was a breeze and we redeemed free drinks for 4 people by sacrificing our room cleaning service, lovely touch. My son unfortunately spilt a drink on his bed and I asked if they could sort his sheets, they done the whole room, amazing service. The food was good maybe a little pricey for the mains but home cooked, tasty and hot. Service was brilliant which always makes things better. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Plenty of parking. Perfect! We would definitely return. 10/10
