InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town by IHG

This is an interesting one and probably not a fair rating based on the circumstances. I got married in the yellow table bay hotel in 2000. Back then it was top of the pops! The 2026 version is clean and crisp new decor and finishes. The rooms have had a make over and the hotel I magnificent. Thing is - it’s only been open for a month so that means teething problems. Something’s of which I don’t the s full paying gusts should have to endure. To start - our shower flooded first night. Then the water didn’t get hot and when it was seen to the shower went boiling then tepid one moment to the next. Very frustrating. The most irritating thing was that in the first 2 days in the hotel the fire evacuation alarm went off 4 times. We coukd not understand the instructions coming from the speaker and twice it was in the dead of night. Just not good enough. In room dining was great and always service with a smile. The annoying knocking next door was 7 days a week and started at 7am. Again minors the full price. The hotel lobby has been transformed magnificently but the service there is a tad slow. Always smiley and super helpful by slow. Amazingly we didn’t get to Jan’s restaurant- big regret but ran out of time. I think the place has massive potential and the staff are all beautifully presented and so helpful from housekeeping to in room dining and laundry service. BUT I don’t think its fair or wise to charge guests the full rate until all issues are ironed out. Big Marriott coming next door with super yacht harbour. Lots happening here. Glad we stated - can only get better.

Unfortunately, I visited the hotel expecting to receive the warmth and attention to detail that the old Table Bay was known for. Instead, I received inconsistent delivery and confusion around something as simple as ordering a small still water and a large sparkling but instead got the opposite, and only on third try, was it delivered. Cortado was quite disappointing especially temperature was tepid and coffee burnt. But what irked me most was that I wanted to order early dinner, drinks but menus were dropped and then no one returned for half hour. But they only returned as I called the hotel and asked them to send the staff from the bar to the outside area. The apology was haphazard as in there was no sincere apology or management coming over. What is worse, is we were asked if we had wanted to order when I explained this. Needless to say I explained that we don’t ask for menus to simply look at words. I am deeply disappointed that this is the standard that this hotel is willing to dish out. Haphazard and kinda the personality of a confused seal.

Fennel and Finch Restuarant has a lot to learn about service. The decor was good with a lovely view of Table mountain and the Harbour. We were invited to a birthday party but they could not deliver the promises made for the snacks ordered. They did not have enough side plates, and only three scone platters. The hostess was extremely embarrassed for the service delivered to her guest. I trust they can step up their service. Thank you

One of the best hotels on earth. Probably i have been there more than 5 times till now because of the location to start with. The others are just more pluses for me which make it the greatest place in Cape Town. So much love from Cairo Egypt love your place!

Unl;ess you are a hotel guest I would not recommend. I would like to share my sincere disappointment with my experience this evening at The Botanist's Table. I had a reservation for 18h30 and spent more than an hour in traffic to get there. When I arrived, I could not find any parking due to the Stormers rugby game at the DHL Stadium.\ I informed reception about the situation, hoping for some guidance or an alternative, but no assistance was offered. After circling the area without success, I had no choice but to cancel my reservation. It was a frustrating and avoidable experience. A venue of this standard should anticipate major events in the area and communicate parking challenges or provide practical solutions. I left without ever stepping inside, which is not how an evening out should begin or end.

I real enjoyed my stay at table bay hotel. The hotel is beautiful with its unique architecture designs . | The staff very friendly and welcoming. The food was very pleasant and yummy. Our too. Shad a beautiful view of the ocean. And amazing to look at especially at night. | Overall I had a really exceptional experience and I would highly recommend this hotel in Cape Town.

From the moment we passed through the main entrance and the friendly doorman, Mr Arendse offered to assist with taking some pictures, we just knew that we have selected one of the best hotels in Cape Town - This recently renovated hotel with exceptional views of the Atlantic Ocean as well as Table Mountain is modern and trendy - Tshepi, the lady who assisted with room choices, left a lasting memory and her genuine passion for customer satisfaction will ensure that we return - Waiter, Sadeequa too, made our breakfast experience even more exciting - The staff in this newly opened hotel is the friendliest that we have experienced in a while - This 5* property is worth spending at least 3 nights when in Cape Town and we highly recommend it.

Had a great dinner at one of the hotel's restaurant.|I loved the space of Flint & Fennel with big windows offering amazing view on table mountain and the Waterfront.|I liked the menu with a few small plates that can make a good tapas dinner.|Professional service.
