Unfortunately, I visited the hotel expecting to receive the warmth and attention to detail that the old Table Bay was known for. Instead, I received inconsistent delivery and confusion around something as simple as ordering a small still water and a large sparkling but instead got the opposite, and only on third try, was it delivered. Cortado was quite disappointing especially temperature was tepid and coffee burnt.
But what irked me most was that I wanted to order early dinner, drinks but menus were dropped and then no one returned for half hour. But they only returned as I called the hotel and asked them to send the staff from the bar to the outside area.
The apology was haphazard as in there was no sincere apology or management coming over. What is worse, is we were asked if we had wanted to order when I explained this. Needless to say I explained that we don’t ask for menus to simply look at words.
I am deeply disappointed that this is the standard that this hotel is willing to dish out. Haphazard and kinda the personality of a confused seal.
