The Table is fantastic. While they offer lots of different events during the week, we went to their Wednesday night seafood dinner. Reservations are required and we were on the wait list before receiving a call that we were in.
The space is an old church that has been updated beautifully with a large kitchen, two elevated seating areas and enough space for a table that seats 20.
Our dinner started with charcuterie with oysters and littlenecks being shucked by the oyster farmer himself. There is a small bar with bottles of wine, a signature cocktail, beers, and you can do pairings for the meal. If you order a bottle of wine, the staff will keep it cold for you and refill as needed. We met the chef and they did a brief lobster preparation demo and discussed the meal.
After meeting our dining partners for the night, we found seats at the table and started with a beautiful salad of local greens and a homemade green goddess dressing. Next, family-style platters with potatoes, carrots, and green beans were brought out followed by huge trays of mussels, lobster, and littleneck clams, and then bowls of local sausage with gravy. The food was over the top fantastic and there was so much to eat.
For dessert, there were fresh biscuits, strawberries, and cream. It was a nice light end to such a great dinner.
The staff truly care about the experience and make the experience seamless. We even ran into Derrick, the owner, at a local cheese shop the morning of our dinner, and he was excited to meet us and chat with us at dinner.
If you enjoy fine dining and meeting new people, this is the perfect experience for you.
