Yelp
My wife and I usually come here for the happy hour--beer, appetizer, and entrees. When we first discovered the place, everything was fantastic. The food was great, portions were generous, and it felt like a solid value. We always ordered two beers, the pretzel appetizer, and later shared a plate of fish and chips.
Unfortunately, over our last two visits, we've noticed a steady decline in both food quality and portion size. The pretzels, which used to be thick, soft, and filling enough for two, are now noticeably smaller--about a third of the original size and lacking in texture, like they didn't rise properly during baking. The fish and chips have also shrunk. We used to get two thick, flaky fillets. Now it's thinner cuts and noticeably less fish overall. Even the fries--frozen ones, at that--have been scaled back from a hearty portion to a small girls handful.
What was once a satisfying and affordable meal now feels overpriced. At $16, the current fish and chips plate--with just a few fries, a tiny side of slaw, and smaller fillets--no longer offers the value it used to. At best, it's a $12 dish in its current state.
We're willing to give this place one more shot to turn things around. If not, we'll be moving on. For now, we're giving it two stars until they address the portion and value issues.
